I think you missed the point about how i put med n denti in the choices that became postgrad.
I guess the selection is tough. I have two friends in the uni n one doing med n she was somewhat on my scale. But then again, your point is: our foundation is not good? or plainly we are unqualified for our course? or plainly you have greatly achieved something that was because of the system? or our course is not good? or are you implying that we r potential dropouts? or anything else ... I used to love to hear them but spare me if it is any more venomous.
Haha ... now melbourne U is bad .... well I dun care ... I am proud n satisfied with my little uni with less fees but allows me to grow n expand ... its the person that matters not the place for me ... i suppose u heard of oxbridge furnishing our tingkat 4 in putrajaya ... n they wan brains.... well i hope you apply to be on MQA, you would make a great QC if they ever employ you...

Exactly ... unless you are the psychopathic mugger ... Just go through your daily work; finish any assignments ... Should be about 2 - 4 hours (depending on how do you read) Wouldn't take you much time if you know how to manage time well. But of course, exam prep takes some planning and since the course content is higher than other courses, you got to plan well.

Actually the food has been a problem for quite some time since they changed the caterers in end of 2006 or early 2007. Low quality not usually meaning poisonous food but I suppose low variety and weirder selections of unheard vegetables and stuff like that. It gets very boring after some time you know, the food. The fridges are being phased out as what I have heard. Not sure on it myself. the sports complex is pretty good. You can probably bring table tennis bats, tennis or badminton rackets ... running shoes (there is a track) or even a basketball ...

Things happen so quickly around here ... but I believe that more than the entrance examination or grades; it is the final outcome: the product of five years of teaching should be considered. Anyone with reasonable skill can be polished to excellence. At least that is what education is supposed to be, not a purely discriminatory discipline of who gets to learn and who not.
The discriminatory practice is due to the limited resources but private education has seen in a level of increased opportunities. At least that is what I choose to see; rather than the money, time and deceit people claim. Unless you have positive statistics to say that private medical students are generally less skilled than government doctors, one shouldn't start a Never-Ending-War. A piece of my two cents.

I think we need to define quality as per se; normal schooling in any country for that matter does not prepare individuals for medicine because they are not supposed to. They offer what they are supposed to which is to train individuals into general competency to further their skills in higher levels according to their interests. Hence, such we see entrance exams and hence forth. Grades become important, for you need rationalizing, problem solving, synthetic skills and evaluation in medicine and grades reflect that but only so partially. Many of these competencies develop with age and maturity and most often than not in most parts of the world, freshmen are still very much in their teens.
Doing medicine is not about fighting to get a seat; that's not quality but a by-product of rat racing education.
My point is: grades are an important measure; a foremost objective measure but it is not a watertight tank, people with reasonable skill can be trained to be as what happens inside medical school matters more than what gets you there.

Hey you guys can check entry requirements on these URLs: MBBS: http://www.aimst.edu.my/aimst_web/facultie...e_programs.html BDS: http://www.aimst.edu.my/aimst_web/facultie...y_programs.htmlBPharm: http://www.aimst.edu.my/aimst_web/facultie...y_programs.htmlIf you guys are interested in any other courses, you can surf through the uni website. Hope this helps. But I must tell you: sometimes its subject to availability in competitive courses like MBBS. But I guess if you really want to do the course, you should apply quickly and constantly get updated on your application status.

There is no way to simply sit the foundation exam and not wise to either. Most stpm students would have not taken physics plus there is a 50% coursework including two term exams and various assignments.
Even if you choose to do foundation here, got to warn you that MBBS is highly competitive. So i think enough is said.

QUOTE(nightkids89 @ Mar 12 2009, 02:36 PM) i got question to ask again... haha let say have 200 students take foundation in science, 50 out of 200 is go for mbbs. this 50 students has scored well in the exam, izit this 50 students get their seat in MBBS? since mbbs only for 200 ppl, means tat 200-50 for 2nd batcn n 3rd batch foundation students to compete the seat? You really can't say so ... they will take outside students but priority is given for foundation students but not all who do well want to do medicine... most go for BDS and BPharm as well. So you really can't judge that way. However for outside students, the grade criteria is high ... they took only three for my batch (of 70) ... one had like 4As for A-Levels and one had 3.9 something from gov matriculation. But that was then, now there are more seats ... But its not getting a seat that matters, holding on to it ... not crashing in any professional exams and for that you must have a solid foundation and know your stuff. So one way or another, you got to be pretty sharp. tc!
