OK , guys these are some benchmark comparisons with the Note 2. Basically it beats the Note 2 in most aspects
Both phones on stock rom and stock kernel ( rooted)

The Pantech default UI is indeed laggy - I rate it a 5 against the Note 2 of 9. However replacing it with Nova Launcher has improve it drastically, that now I rate it a close 8.5
Operating temperatures of the Pantech is higher ; just an hour on 3 G browsing I see temperatures averaging 45 degree C vs 38 of Note 2
Still too early to assess battery life, but basing on solely 3G browsing the Pantech used up 18-19%/hour vs 13-15%/hour on Note 2
The Pantech display quality thrash the Note 2 ; I rate it a 9 vs a 6 for the Note 2

Performance wise still too early to assess but these benchmarks should give you a rough idea that the Pantech is overall a better performer

urmm because there's to many smartphone out there..that makes me difficult to make decision..Im looking for phone with a good spec and look..but then i found vega no6 and kinda like it..but i want to know is it good? or should i buy some other phone? cause the price quite expensive also..thanks for your reply

Then you should ask in the pinned phones recommendation thread at the top of the forum. State your budget and other requirements as per the standard format. I sus pect yr budget is 1500 thereabouts. Plenty of choice. Note 2, xperia zl, telco contract s4 etc.

Hurmm i really like Vega No 6..is it working with our current LTE? cause the price for maxis vega right now is 1980

Maxis Vega ? What do u mean by that ? Yes , it works with our local LTE at 4G 1800 but do ask the seller b4 purchase as there's another variant running at 4G 850 which wouldn't work here . Here r some suggestions to help u decide

1 - Are u prepare for massive loses selling off this unit later on as used ?
Like those jp phones , vega is consider quite rare and pricey here in msia n not many people are willing 2 pay for it . Also , due to it's warranty , anything goes wrong and u might end up with no phone to use for months since the unit need 2 be sent back for warranry claims .

2 - Are u someone who's into modding , flashing , etc ?
Basically , u can't find anything in xda or modaco for it yet . May be later , who knows . Basically , there's nothing much u can mod with it except root n flash to hk based rom for chinese

3 - Are u a gadget freak ?
If u r , spec wise , it's remarkable but do not the processor used it not so new compared to S4 or HTC One . Also , Vega will ve launching a new model soon called Vega Iron with newer processors .

Battery life - my assessment is not that accurate 'cos the phone being used only a day+ only
However I did a test and this is on 3G ( NO wifi ) . Screen on time I have hit 3.5 hours with 5% battery left.. i started the test at 98 % battery level
The first 8 hours was phone idle and I see a drop of 8% ( which is high) and that is solely because I have yet to tweal most of the apps settings from actively refreshing data. I should be able to achieve the most 2-3 % drop with tweaks done
I deem this as satisfactory ; it can never match Note 2 ( SOT 7-8 hours is commonly achieved with its 3100 mAh battery)
This Pantech has a slight higher battery at 3140 mAh but with its more powerful chip and full HD display and comparatively higher operating temperature ( average 5 degree C higher than Note 2) do affect its battery usage
One consolation, the phone comes with an additional battery
With wifi being used mainly, I guess you could get another hour on its usage

My usage is 80 % on internet related stuffs ( browsing, email, RSS feeds, tweeter, Newsfeeds, Facebook ) and the rest EBook reading, some youtube videos ( mainly from Facebook), few calls, about 30+ whatsapp messages, few SMS

How this Pantech Vega No6 looks in my hands

First ROOT your phone and use GoSMS

1. Install any ROOT EXPLORER app

2. Download this FIX file from http://adf.ly/Cn3Gi

3. Extract files with WINRAR from downloaded ZIP file into local PC dir.

4. Put framework.jar file from extracted folder>System>framework into phone USB or SD card memory.

5. Now open ROOT Explore app in phone, browse to /system/framework and set permission to r/w.

6. In /system/framework folder of phone, renamed the file “framework.jar” file to “framework.jar.bak” or any other name.

7. Paste the framework.jar from USB memory or SD card (where u placed in 4.) to /system/framework folder of phone with ROOT EXPLORER.

8. Reboot phone, when phone reboot again, it will shows message of upgrading application. Wait for finish!

9. In GO SMS, check the option of splitting SMS having more than 160 characters in SMS send setting.

Update on last 15 hours usage n battery life
Started off at 97% charge, SOT achieved about 4.5 hours with 5 % left
About an hour improvement over previous day

Benny, thinking of getting this phone as my One X is out of warranty and its dead. However, i usually prefer to use custom rom and I see you can read chinese ( correct me if i am wrong ) as you found the site to root the phone ( and it's in chinese ). So do they have any other custom rom , say MIUI or CM10? ( I dont read chinese, hehe)

Also if you compare it to your Note 2 in terms of day to day usage and performance, which you prefer?

I'm fine overall with the phone as you've posted, just feel it's a little too angular

It will be a waste of screen space if you don't use it with a stylus, since this is about the correct size for a full and pocketable paper notepad replacement. I use the s-pen with HandyNote to take notes during meetings, and find Note 2 just a little on the small side for that purpose.

There is no CM10, MUIU roms and infact custom roms are very limited, mainly minor tweaks. I don't even bother to look into it
This phone can never replace Note 2. I have posted my comments earlier on - jsut trace back several posts up. I bought it soley because of its bigger display of 5.9 inch and its better FULL HD quality. Good for browsing, watching videos
