1) Where do you get your Bachelor degree?? Locally? Private U or Public U??

2) Is your degree recognised by Australia to begin with??

3) Is it must be Australia or it can be any oversea countries like Singapore, UK, USA, New Zealand??

4) What kind of Master degree?? Business aka MBA or Engineering??

5) How smart are you?? There are some universities in USA that if you are smart enough to get in, the universities are rich enough to give you scholarship plus a teaching assistant job to go with. But, you will be competing with smart students around the world for those kind of admission.

6) Do you have relative oversea that are willing to sponsor you to a certain degree like a place to stay??

7) Why do you want to get a Master degree??

Wrong answer!!! If you want to have better income, you could have done something now before you are graduated.

1) Go into networking

MCSE, CCNA, CCNP

2) Get into system adminstration

Learn Unix/Linux

3) Learn Database

Oracle, SQL Server and so on..

4) Learn SAP

What is stopping you now???

just an idea, l m a gov servant, so would it be ok, if i take a half-pay leave to study overseas? i get a loan fr bank, and with my half pay salary, i use it to pay the tuition fees.. any suggestion/comment of this idea?

To all those people that think they can get a job easily, please think carefully. With the opening up of China and India, you will be facing competition from Chinese and Indians for jobs in countries such as USA, Canada, UK and Australia. Due the size of their population, they have a lot of smarter people in oversea than Malaysians.

In USA, the main reason why Malaysian got hired to work at restaurant as waiter/ waitress is because we have better English than the Chinese from Mainland. But this advantange is slowing going away. The competition for job is a lot taugher than in Malaysia.

You may have a easier time if you have a foreign universoty degree.

an private university in S;wak

That is not a foreign university degree in my book. It is local private university degree. When I mean foreign universoty degree, I mean that you get your degree in foreign country. It might be a twinning program.

Let's say you get your bachelor degree in Australia, it will be easier for you to apply for master and jobs plus scholoarship in Australia. You know the situation in that country plus the employer has an idea what kind of degree that you have.

1) I got my BSEE and MSEE from USA. I lived and worked in USA for many years. I only visited Australia. In USA, rich universities give scholarship and teaching assitantship to smart students around the world to study and do research in USA. If you are very good, there is no problem doing that. Money is never the issue. But, are you that good?? Can you compete with the rest of world?? Please noted that they (Indians and Chineses) came from world ranked universities too.

2) Please noted that a good result in this case mean your result is good enough to beat/compete with the smart students from India and China.

3) Are you that good?? If you are and your lecturer is famous, you should ask your lecturer to recommend where to go in Australia.

Well.. i dun think i m that good, but can consider average..what if i consider US university? do they accept Au Degree if i want to study my Master there?

will it be easier to study/live in US than AU? if there much difference between these 2 coutnries?

1) For USA,
For Engineering Graduate study, you need to take GRE test.
For business Graduate study, you need to take GMAT test.

After you get the test result, then, you will know where you stand in term of getting into USA universities and getting scholarship.

2) USA is a much much larger countries than Australia with a lot more universities. The cost of living and fees different by a great deal comparing one state inside USA to another states. In general, the fee in USA will be greater than Australia.

3) I have no idea whether your degree is recognised by USA.

hi dreamer, thanks for your information. just have some more questions.. hope u dun mind giving me your ideas...

1.  What is GRE test? where can we take the test?? how do we rate ourself to enrol in US universities?

2. I am more interested in taking my master in US, do u mind to give me infor and teh procedure to apply for US Univ? I plan to take up Master in Computer Engineering..will it be good to do this course in US?
*
My information is not up to date. Why don't you start a thread ask people the procedure of applying to USA and how to get a scholarship on Master degree.

With GRE test result, you will not whether your result is great or goo denough to apply to which unversites.

In USA, a Master degree is specialized in something. So, a Master in Computer engineering is too generic. Each university is famous in doing research in some area. For example, some schools are famous in parallel compiler design and so on..
