Yes and no. AP sets are here in limited quantities. Official release should be either by this week or next week.

Thx for the link, just hope when the butterfly price wont drop too much when the one released.

Interestingly, the HTC One is priced lower than the Butterfly in India and Taiwan. Not sure about other countries though.

Expected date of delivery for your pre-orders?

The 64GB version usually should come in by the end of May I think.

Tonight, i couldnt tahan. I too went to SenQ One Utama and pre-ordered.

Estimated arrival of phone is around 2 weeks from now. Any earlier would be a bonus.

SenQ sales person told me that they ordered 500 units to be shared with all SenQ outlets. He also said, in terms of quality, dont have to worry too much, cos its considered 2nd batch manufacturing. First batch guinea pigs already taken by Singapore.

Oh.. i manage to nego with him and only paid RM50 for the pre-order smile.gif

Reminder to all potential buyers. Be aware of poor build due to zero gap not being well constructed
There will still be some very minor gaps . If you are looking for the perfect unit with absolutely no gap, quite tough i would say . Maybe n hopefully the M'sian sets are improved versions. Infact bloggers said HTC should not even boast about this as most units found with at least minor gaps
These pics in this website is indeed bad n unacceptable

It is a notable problem with the first batch of production units. Late March units have noticeable less problems. So if Malaysia were to get units that were made in late March or in April, the build issues should MOSTLY be resolved smile.gif

went to lowyat and tried the phone. the black was ok from the front but i prefer silver at the back i think. htc sent one of their own guys to "take care" of the phone. haha.. so extreme.

he say senq, sengheng and digi was their strong supporter last time, so now they are repaying them with early stock. so xpect late entry for other telcos.

just went to lowyat plaza all the way from shah alam to test tis beast. Very smooth indeed, pretty screen but the black color is so prone to finger print due to the aluminum and its coating. Yeah blinkfeed is nothing special, Zoe is interesting tho smile.gif Power button is seriously not easy to press. it is flat( i am using HOX currently). speaker ok, loud enuf, but i don see any better quality i can get from the speaker becos of loud background noise (not going to use it to play music anyway). I don like the new apps drawer, prefer page by page.. it feels really solid in hand. Overall good but i think i wont buy it as an upgrade from HOX, nothing much different for my usage of phone.
*
Isn't the apps drawer still page by page? The difference is that it scrolls vertically now instead of horizontally.

Owh, and regarding the power button, I've not played with an actual unit yet. All I've done is read tons of information on Xda and watched videos from youtube about the phone.

But that's a common complain about the phone. I guess it all comes down to familiarity and expectations. Since previous phones have their power buttons protrude a bit more.

But since reading all the comments, I've pretty much accepted that the power button is almost flush with the phone. It will be a change from the usual norm. So I guess it all depends on whether you can accept it with an open mind or not smile.gif

Thanks in advance.

I can confirm that it was manufactured on April 2013, the exact date I'm not too sure. I didn't really study the serial code in detail. So does your phone have any manufacturing defects such as minor gaps?

No, theyre not selling at the media launch. Its only a launch to officiate the phone in Malaysia. Actual sale of the phone will be likely first week of May.

Only way to buy now is pre-ordering.
*
Yeah, sorry mate. Wrote wrong. What I meant was they're gonna announce the date for the sale of the phone at the media launch doh.gif

well we r sure at least 3-4 of them are from here d tongue.gif

maybe on that day we can go and pick up together then go seat one corner do unboxing. LOL
*
That sounds nerdy, but fun. Haha tongue.gif

Considering today is the 24th, if stock arrives on the 5th of May, then that would only be 11 days away. Ahhhh!! Should I pre-order at senQ too? Or wait for the shops like directd, satu gadget and seven mobile to bring in stocks? hmm.gif

Yes that would sound extremely nerdy! Lol! But I wouldn't mind doing a mass unboxing orgy.

Don't think it's worth paying extra rm400 to directd if stocks arrive within 11 days. Just be patient and endure the agony of waiting. It's painful but kinda fun.
*
No no, I mean when the official local ori stocks arrive which should be priced at RM2299 or lower since those shops needs to be competitive and aggressive with their pricing. The problem is, they have not released any info on stock arrival whereas senQ has an estimate.

Add on the fact that Nokia just won a case against ST electronics which produces the dual membrane microphones in the HTC One, effectively banning sales of the component for the next 1 year, members at Xda are all going haywire over the availability of 'good HTC One' over the next few weeks. They're kinda worried that newer batches may ship with... less impressive mics. I'm sure HTC bought some stock at hand, just not sure how much.

So the pre-order at senQ is beginning to look really tempting right now. I think I'll wait till the media launch on Thursday at Tropicana City then only would I decide tongue.gif

Plus I was at the HTC Malaysia's contest on Monday night and just now. Did not win the phone, but held a black HTC One for a while and it felt....... really really good. Fits nicely into your hand. Feels smooth too. Made me more excited for the phone tongue.gif

But I do agree with you on "it's painful but kinda fun". Just the uber long wait has made it a lil' too painful and a lil' less fun than it should have been though. If you get what I mean wink.gif

So when maxis will offer this Htc One to their plan ? i already pre-order butterfly last two weeks from them because they said they dont have stock yet. and now htc one will launch this thursday. the staff dont even tell me that htc one will comes to Malaysia early may when i ordered butterfly. ;(

Most staffs(Not all) are pretty darn useless when it comes to information or customer service. The internet is your best friend when it comes to finding news and great deals as well as what is best for you smile.gif

Heres the thing. Sellers other than official retailers of HTC will not be getting their stocks that fast.
Stock priority goes to the following in this sequence
1. SenQ/Sen Heng/DiGi
2. Official retailers (Cubics, etc)
3. Other telcos
4. Other retailers

That is the reason you do not see anyone else advertising or doing pre-orders other than the first 3 i mentioned. HTC has promised them priority.

I have quite a strong feeling that other retailers are also buying pre-orders from SenQ/Sen Heng, so when they get the stock, they can sell it to their customers at a mark-up rate since hardly anyone sells it.

As for the Nokia case, do not worry, the stocks coming to the pre-order retailers are not affected. According to the sales guy from SenQ, they already ordered 500 units. Im sure the telcos would have ordered double of that amount.

Only the stocks that are still sitting in the HTC HQ Factory or at the assembly line may be affected. (This news is from a reliable source)

Well, i cant really help you to ease your pain there buddy. But as they say.. no pain, no gain smile.gif
*
That's good to know that senQ/senheng will be tier 1 this time. Coz I vividly remember that the other retailers as aforementioned got their stocks for the One X last year way before senQ/senheng got theirs. I remember coz I bought mine from one of them really early on at RM1888 when the RRP was RM2199 I think. Only later did I started seeing the One X in senQ/senheng.

Guess it's different this year, coz the retailers seem to be clueless up till now smile.gif

So.... the guy who was criticised a lot over his not so awesome review of the HTC One also did the review for the Samsung GS4 and at the end of the review, his verdict was that.... he's leaning more towards the HTC One
