QUOTE(alfredtwl @ Mar 30 2013, 08:44 AM) Lol, your point being? The last pic shows the earphone jack opening. That's not a dent or ding. The 2nd last pic shows the glass laminated touch screen. Until I have the phone in my hand, I can't tell whether it is supposed to look like that.

QUOTE(Nephrite @ Mar 30 2013, 01:03 PM) Now adays the brand manufacturer sure launch update for the flagship phone de but see weather its fast anot. And if you cant wait you can chose custom ROM at XDA and i 100 % believe sure HTC One got many custom ROM at XDA cause its a new breakthrough and many developers sure try to make custom ROM. I cant deny that custom ROM are bad cause there are some Custom ROM are very good , stable and customizable. Now i am worry is that if HTC One can`t be fix in the future if there is no more warranty left after a year or two. I hope come in the batch of HTC One is from SIS company not bright star cause SIS give 2 years warranty and bright star only 1. Lol, relax bro. It's not as bad as it sounds. Just because one website says that it's hard to repair does not mean that it is the gospel truth, ifixit may be wrong you know. QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Mar 30 2013, 09:10 PM) A lot here talk on updates as we are tech guy. Normal users don't know and don't care lo. None of my friends and colleagues know what is the version running on it and never care much. In general, slow updates do affecting certain portion of users that care of updates, but it won't be big issue as general. As for extreme users, more important was XDA support. +1 That and my brother's GS2 is still on ICS. This post has been edited by joelucas91: Mar 30 2013, 09:12 PM

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Mar 30 2013, 11:37 PM) The ONLY caveat that I have with the One is the stupid Beats branding on the back of the phone. Beats is stupid, really wished that HTC didn't buy them over. Well, real life users have commented that the provided earphones that come with the phone are better than normal, the music sounds better with beats on, and the dual front facing speakers are louder and clearer than any current smartphones. So why not you give it a try on the HTC One before you write it off? If you still can't stand it, then just put a case on or polish the branding off if it really bothers you THAT much No phone is perfect afterall. But this One is pretty well near there I should think. Opinions of others may differ though. To each his own

QUOTE(soulseeker6187 @ Mar 30 2013, 11:45 PM) IMO, its tue best marketing decision by HTC. Coz Beats branding, many of beats fanboy is buying htc phones eventhough the sound quality sucks. So I take it that you've tried the latest iteration of beats in the HTC One and have then found it to be lacking?

QUOTE(ivn79 @ Mar 30 2013, 11:50 PM) +1 Agree. Should have check out the Beats audio b4 slamming on ONE. Not sure about the part models wit Beats but i did try it b4 wt friend's phone and actually it not bad at all. Not that worse as mention earlier... Well, I think people have high expectations of Beats considering the premium pricing, and they are right to expect such quality of a product that commands such a price tag. But the beats on the HTC One are bundled together with the phone through software and maybe hardware(not 100% sure) too. You don't pay extra for the Beats. HTC pays extra. To me, it's better than the normal earphones supplied and that's good enough. Not at the top at reproducing beautiful music, but it is sufficient for me. Then again, I'm not an audiophile. I'm just a regular user who uses my phone stock But so far comments have been good, if you have realistic expectations, and not expect to have an eargasm everytime you listen to music through your earphones http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2212087This post has been edited by joelucas91: Mar 31 2013, 12:01 AM

QUOTE(vlow2yat @ Mar 31 2013, 10:39 AM) Warranty only cover manufacturer's fault like defects etc. Warranty doesn't cover user's fault like accidentally drop and crack the phone screen. Which is common accident among smartphone user. RM2299 burn as the ONE is unrepairable I do not know where did you get the idea that the HTC One is unrepairable. Just because one website found it hard to disassemble, does not instantly make the said phone unrepairable!!! You think maybe, just maybe those guys got it wrong? Coz I have evidence about people disassembling the phone successfully on other websites without such huge hassles or troubles. So please, give it a rest about the topic regarding the HTC One being irrepairable!!! It's a misconception people. This post has been edited by joelucas91: Mar 31 2013, 11:03 AM

QUOTE(vlow2yat @ Mar 31 2013, 12:59 PM) It was from iFixit.com 2 days ago. iFixit.com is not some DIY at home guy or amateur. They are the authority in the mobile repair area. The same reason why many famous tech news and mobile magazine ( InformationWeek, Phonearena, Boxden, Gizbot are republishing their research. That's why the HTC One unrepairable news spread so fast. Since you said you have evidence, please show the proof and authority of the source. It definitely help us potential buyer. We need facts to support. Until then, the unrepairable claim stands. I can't afford to risk RM2299 just to test the water. Look back about 2 to 3 pages. The information is there.

QUOTE(vlow2yat @ Mar 31 2013, 05:04 PM) I think you are refering to the link in Post #107. I couldn't get any supporting point that it is repairable. Did I miss any thing? All I get was, the article is about a TEAR DOWN to see and review the components. It didn't mention if they can fix it back later in it's original condition or did they also "Tear down" (as iFixit) the case during the dissemble. Their readers wanted to know if they tear it down too in the comments section but no answer. Then follow by some quotes of the 2 persons conversation. Who are they? Brian Klug didn't say anything, while leoside just asked a question (this also can be used as a supporting point? It's a question!!!) and a statement. Huh? How come all this unclear info can be considered as fact and happily close the case? Please point to me where I miss. Well the point that you miss was that all those replies were from Brian Klug, not from other people to him, but vice versa. In one of them he critics the iFixit team for not being able to identify the antenna points eventhough they did a teardown of the phone. In another reply, he asks a rhetorical question, saying that you do not need to destroy the phone in order to disassemble it, which unfortunately is what the iFixit team failed to accomplish. In one of the latter statements, he specifically mentioned that "no phones were harmed" during this teardown. Which means he was able to remove the components without damaging the casing and components hence he can piece it back together unlike the iFixit team who damaged the aluminium casing. He then posted up pics of the camera modules as supporting evidence that he indeed toredown the phone. Is my interpretation off?

QUOTE(lordofvirtue @ Apr 4 2013, 06:36 PM) Meaning to say it is slightly splash proof as far as speakers are concerned then? Yup. If water droplets falls on it, your phone will be safe. Your phone won't be safe if you try to submerge it under water la.
