Latest update on Nokia-HTC microphone controversy. Looks like HTC definitely need new source for theirs. I supposed the initial Msian batch will not be affected
Seriously the mic is indeed good n recording quality is superb. There was a YouTube video demo how it thrashes or should I say obliterated the S4 in this

then the first few batch of HTC one will have quality mic..whereas the future 1... not so good mic? wah.. then sure ppl will rush to buy the current batch

I don't think any one knows whether the new mic will be worse, same or probably better.

maybe want to sell One to get S4.  tongue.gif haha

Think twice n thrice. Based on several guys comments at Spore hardwarezone.sg, seems the S4 is laggier vs HTC One and I also saw several youtube videos showing such too. Of course you can drop the TW UI and use other 3rd party launchers and still have TW features except its widgets. Best is to get a hands on first. I will give you my impressions later as I will be in KL this Saturday and will pop over to LowYat to have a look at the S4. I might even pick one up if I am impressed enough
Latest GIZMODO? comments on S4 software : excerpt - read with pinches of salt. I do not quite agree on her words on HTC One about " scrolls smoother, opens apps speedier " as I don't feel it is so . It is just normal to me vs , say with Xperia Z, Note 2, Butterfly

But the software's worst offense? It makes the phone slow. Well, not slow, exactly, but much slower than it should be. The Galaxy S4 has a 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 processor. The HTC One has the exact same processor, but it's only clocked to 1.7GHz. So the S4 should be faster, right? Wrong. Despite that fact that the S4 benchmarks better, the HTC One leaves the S4 in the dust in every practical way possible. The One boots up three times faster, navigates the UI quicker, scrolls smoother, opens apps speedier, and most importantly, takes photos with no shutter lag, whereas the Galaxy S4 generally takes about a second to fire off a shot.

If you are a gamer you will appreciate the improved performance of HTC1 vs HOX. N the very much improved battery life I rough estimate at least 50% n is cooler than HOX in operation

I am an existing iPhone 4S user,I want to upgrade my phone to ip5 since the os really catch my heart, but with the coming htc one and S4 it really makes me think twice which one should I get..I never use an android phone before so I really need your honest opinion whether I have to stick to the iOS or go for the android?
*
I would recommend you to go for Nexus 4 to start your journey into Android. It is a very good phone , smooth and responsive
I also have iphone 5 ( and have used all the ip series) and ipad mini ( and have used all the ipad series before that ) but it has never attracted me due to its closed system
No one can advise you whether IOS is better or worse than Android
Read up comparisons in the web between these 2 - and you get conflicting opinion
Tell us what you usually want to do with the phone and perhaps I could advice you whether switching to Android is better or worse for you

i like ios because the smoothness and reliability of the iphone so i am scared to use android because many users say that their phones are always lags..mostly i use my phone to browse internet, playing a bit heavy games, listening to music, and store pictures.
*
I would say in this case , your iphone will serve you well. If you worry about lag, consider Nexus 4 with its pure vanilla OS. Others like Samsung, Sony, HTC has their own UI on top of the Android OS. I'd say with the newer versions of Android OS, lag is not a serious significant issue. You can always replace the launcher with 3rd party launcher that is similar to Nexus without the manufacturer bloatware UI. I'd say even ip5 lags but iP users will defend saying it doesn't. I cannot convince you on this - go and try the Nexus 4 and assess it yourself
Advantage of Android over IOS is file management - you can easily organize your files without the need to connect to iTunes or you need to JB it and use , say iFile which is just a piece of shitty app and any of the free file explorer app in android will shame it greatly

Android is definitely laggy and such a huge problem until they release project buttercup to solve this issue.
Now it is a bit better with quad core, 2GB RAM, GHz, etc...
But occasionally, it will still lag.
and u must buy flagship (most expensive ) models, otherwise u will vomit blood.

. Google is Internet search company, and they depend on other manufacturer. So android is never optimized. Just imagine, Google android is like a prostitute, made to suit different men.

So u cannot really compare with Apple iPhone. Apple has best technology on Earth in graphics and hardware/software interface.iOS is only used for iPhone where it is like match made in heaven.

His unit has serious gap issues ; it is so obvious. I will not accept it. Look at the obvious gap in front top just below the speaker and top near the power button
Looks like even second batches still has these problems
The unit I bought doesn't have such serious gaps ; my unit I really have to look at it closely just to see the very minor gaps

if u are on standby, definitely s4. but if both same usage(not counting idle time) almost the same. from multiple reviews. but u dont get lcd and boomsound yo tongue.gif
*
How you conclude is " almost the same " ?? You have used both phones already ??
Based on my 2 days testing the HTC One and only one day on the S4, just on 3G browsing alone the S4 battery usage is better than HTC one by about 5 %/hour . Both phones on same Maxis postpaid. The S4 is also cooler - it takes about an hour 3G browsing to hit 38-39 degree C while it takes about 10 mins for the HTC One to hit this temperature
I supposed this could be due to the S4 using mainly on the 1.2 Ghz chip while not on intensive applications

hardwarezone.sg had done a comparison ( Snapdragon LTE model of S4) :

http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/review-sams...performance-107

Our standard battery test for mobile phones includes the following parameters:

• Looping a 800 x 480-pixel video with screen brightness and volume at 100%

• Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity turned on

• Constant data streaming through email and Twitter

Galaxy S4 score 647 mins vs HTC One only 257 mins

I am often asked which display is nicer : S4 or HTC One. I'd say both phones display look great and is up to your own taste. I love both of it. But I find the HTC One display is brighter
See the pics below : I have the default wallpaper to show the comparison. The HTC one and S4 is placed side by side and both in maximum brightness. I find The S4 colours are closer to the actual wallpaper

I blame it on their poorer marketing efforts vs Samsung and also the slower production rate of the phone vs the easily mass production of S4

No doubt AMOLED color more accurate but in the same time abit over saturated. I dont think SLCD 3 color is wash out but due to the brightness though.

off topic : That life companion words will be there forever at lock screen?

No. It can be change to what you wish - fonts/colors too
I never bother to do it
