Hahaha ... just a quick check before I proceed with this ... If in the end , I do not like the custom ROM, can i recover it back to original ROM and Kernel ? I remember reading it somewhere if I do not backup my own image I will end up not being able to recover to original ROM and Kernel .. Is this true ? Or I can always get them somewhere ...

Time for me to unleash the phone's true power ... drool.gif

As for the bolded statement, yes, that is true. But not for our Nexus devices. Google publishes the stock images officialy via https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images and thus you can easily re-flash to stock by downloading the images. Link to guide on reverting to stock is available in the first page.

Ditto to polarz post. You unlock your device first, then install custom recovery, either TWRP or CWM. Then make a nandroid backup(assuming you're running stock kernel and rom) then you can flash to any rom and kernel you like. Just in case you don't like it or something you can always revert back to stock by flashing your nandroid backup and enjoy stock rom. Saves the hassle of reflashing everything via fastboot.

Yes, and basically that's the way to unlock bootloader by going into Bootloader and unlock it there laugh.gif

An alternative is to turn off your device, hold vol down + power botton and it should be able to enter that screen too.

If you want to do it in the video's way (by using adb commands in the command prompt), just make sure that you have the drivers and Android SDK installed (see first page for more info)

The only way is to send it to LG Service Centre since the digitizer is no longer working and I doubt you can do anything with it laugh.gif

aww man broken digitizer.

if you're rooted, and you've adb enabled in your device then better flash back to stock via fastboot.
scared that they might void your warranty cause it's rooted and all.

i'm not sure about warranty but better safe than sorry.

if you didn't root or anything, then okay la proceed to LG service center.

They can surely repair it for you. The question is only about how much they will charge you (as it's not in their warranty coverage here).

For the service centre's address, it's already posted on the first page. Check first page post #2: FAQs under My unit is defective! Where is LG Warranty centre?.

stumbled upon this app: DriveDroid

This app enables you to boot Linux distro from your device (and yes that includes our Nexus 4 as well! rclxms.gif)

and it requires root as it changes our USB mode. (change from MTP to mass storage mode)

I'm trying to find out a way to make it persistent.
As for now (after meddling with it) we can include free space as another storage in the distro

Tried out with SliTaz and Ubuntu. Loads fast. Very fast. Going to try loading Backtrack.
