I can't help you with the standard-ness of your KSC75, but I can definitely try recommending you on what amp to use based on personal recommendations.

Try pairing it with the LDM+.
My Crossroad PLD should be arriving next week, and I am most likely meeting up PcWork to recable one of my Koss next week too. By then I can give you a full description on how it sounds like on amp.

However, just a brief description on how my KSC75 sounds like on the LDM+. Not recabled yet.

Well, frankly speaking, just by pairing it up with my Philips PSC805, I have to admit it sounds abit strange, with slightly dragged/bloated bass, not very deep and clean. Highs are uncontrolled, overly bright, but clarity and sound quality wise is already showing itself. Vocals are precise and clear, cymbals and mid highs are clean and crisp.

Then I went ahead and took my LDM+ from the box (PS: I didn't like the LDM+ btw, doesn't pairs well with my other headphones), and I thought, ah well, since I might very well sell it, why not give it a try.

Grief mistake man. (as in I won't be selling the amp anymore)

With only one hour of burn in, the KSC75 sounded like a charm! Improved bass control, deep and hard, bloats are totally gone unlike the ones which I hear previously from the PSC805 alone. Highs are better controlled, though still abit harsh due to insufficient burn in. The cymbal and midhighs are brought slightly more forward, clearer and more elaborated, clarity and vocal range wise not much of a difference as of yet. Still requires abit more testing.

But frankly speaking I am the very opposite of Madman.. Not a basshead at all, hence, it sounds good for me that way. laugh.gif

Either way, if you want, I might be bored enough to meet you for a jamming session? Especially when I need to meet Akabane to grab a M30 from him. laugh.gif

PS: LDM+ tends to narrow down soundstage btw. Hence, I find it to work well on the KSC75 which have virtually no, or, to say, very little soundstage. Hmmm... I guess it would work well for the Grados too.. But, that's another story altogether. xD Oh what source are you on btw?

Jamming session as in we could hang together and test out one another's setup. Or just yamcha la. laugh.gif I pretty much have alot more to learn, but never really have the change to meet up with PcWork, Uncle Wala and Akabane. Gah.. I wanna rape all their equipments......................... laugh.gif Not literally.

What I truly meant was, KSC75 never had a wide soundstage to began with, hence, LDM+ couldn't cause the Koss to lose any soundstage. (since there is next to none to began with)

If you can, you might want to PM yeah_guyz for his Yulong Mini Eph amp, as I've heard that it pairs well with the KSC75 as well. RM50, not much to lose.

Instruments.. As in classical eh? Orchestra, Quartets and the sorts?
Soundstage wise the KSC75 could not deliver accurate imaging of the field of playing, however, clarity wise, I'd say I'm pretty impressed. (I could hear the audience adjusting their sits on one of the songs I've heard, as I listen to live recordings). As for the bass issue I'll give it a check later in the morning then, see if it's truly too weak. Be warned though, I may be a bit bias as I prefer deep hard bass than strong elaborated ones.

If you're looking for the KSC75, do PM jiaxun. smile.gif He's currently bringing em in, though you may need to wait for the MOQ to hit which may take abit of time mind you.

Chill bro, I promote good service. smile.gif No need for advertisement fees lol.
Either way, bulking by itself ain't easy, so I'd understand why you might not want to continue.

I think most of us can understand that however, and most of us are willing to wait for something this good. wink.gif

Hey jihchuan,

Where do you stay? If I am bored enough I can bring over my normal KSC75 with my BoA and LDM+ so you don't need to poison your friend that badly. biggrin.gif

Just to let the KSC75 community know. smile.gif

Those who are interested in getting their KSC75 recabled can pm PcWork or me (if he is too occupied to reply) for arrangements. I can work out something for you guys and help pass your KSC75 to him. smile.gif

Just came back from japan, glad to see there is a KSC75 fan club. To date I have 5 sets bought, 2 given away and the rest are in office and home. I have the other porta/sportapro family as well, they are not bad also (a bit tad heavy on bass compare to KSC75).

Of course other more expensive headphone sounds better (ATH-ESW9, AKG K701) but for the price, KSC75 is a steal for the quality. I would immediately recommend it. Always nice to see those reaction for those first timer (like reaction from Britain Got Talent - Susan Boyle).

The only thing that it is not good at is isolation. It is useless out in noisy place or in library, else in room like environment KSC75 shines.

infact. that day u fellow came. there's somethings wrong with my system.
i think my room acoustic went wrong. bass is gone. yesterday nicholas came. and we did experiment of moving out the speaker out from my room and blast it from my living room. and the sound is all right. but when i shift it again in my room. no more bass as u guys hear.
i will settle it out. and will call the person who came that day come and try again.
cannot hear lah the sound like that. sound stage, mid , treble is ok. but the bass is seriously missing.

Walao.. "Cannot hear".. laugh.gif
Sounds good enough already though for me. Heh.

Hmmm.. Nevermind, we'd still need to go down to pick up our KSC75, then we can take a listen to it. Haha.
