Note 2 or any 2k phone doesn't mean rich.

This

is rich...

Wow !!!!!! Nice one.

U can google it yourself. I will install antivirus because I think I need it. It's optional actually.

Using Avast. No problems in 2 months.

You have been prolific. I suggest you keep to this thread before the mods delete your posts from other threads.

I'm using avg antivirus , and it's quite good for me.

personally, i never bothered with AV on the mobile phone. but of course this very much depends on the person. i'm the type that is 99% sure my notebook won't get infected even if i dun have AV on notebook.

some good habits on computing (mobile phones included):
* dun simply visit any 'weird' sites
* dun simply install any apps <-- i always check permissions and also the type of comments/ feedback + downloaded how many times
* dun simply install any 3rd party apps <-- someone could extract original APK, modify it (meaning add some codes to steal your data, etc from the phone) and then share it as 'free' version

As I said before , you can download Aptoide or 4share so that u can download all the free games or apps.

Ok, now GAMERS TIME ! First, u have to know which type of game u like the most, for me I love graphics and adventure games. So, I would download THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, DEAD SPACE, REAL RACING 3, ASPHALT 7, MODERN COMBAT 4, GTA VICE CITY etc.

You have to think which type of games you like, then u can go google store's category and find them.

I see. But it's optional. I always install app from Aptoide , but I don't know whether it's original or third party ones.

i checked out Aptoide. one use is for the owner to backup his APK files... of course if the owner 'shares' the APK, theoretically, that could be piracy. also, same thing as i shared earlier, someone could just modify the code, upload and share it...

plus... i saw Final Fantasy apk when i was doing a quick search on that site. hmmm... :S

depends on what you mean by 'safe'... if stealing your info is considered safe, then maybe 99%. because to some, what they consider not safe is when the apps make the phone unstable (reboot by itself, etc).

for me... i also avoid apps that spam my notification bar, or "run at start up" (for games coz i dun see why games need this permission).

for me... i'd put the figure as maybe 60% safe... or 70%. the rest... they look dodgy.

as for Samsung Apps, of course i use it. i believe it was joytest who mentioned earlier that some apps in there are free whereas the same apps is not free on Google Play. its free because Samsung paid for it.

but what i understand, the free is for certain phones. Example: Need For Speed is free for note 2.

there are some nice things in the Samsung Apps/ Hubs. I found some nice books on Reader Hub which is free... Like Bulfinch's Mythology. I know that on my Note 2, there's even a rm30 voucher given to anyone who signs up for Learning Hub.

Just make sure that you don't click on the ads and go to their website , and you are safe.

If u want saver , download the anti-ads app to clear them all.

Nope. If you have to think you are safe because you didn't click on the ad, then something is fishy with the app already... hmm.gif

checking permissions...

from Play website: there's a tab called permission... rolleyes.gif
From Play apps: when you click install or something like that... the next screen you see will be a lost of permissions. you need to click something like OK before you actually install. if you're not comfortable with the permission asked, then just cancel.

for ads and pop up ads... see below.

ad blockers have been recently removed by Google from Google Play. so if you wanna install ad blocker apps, you need to go to 3rd party market.

one type of ad that i find annoying is those that goes into notification. if you know which app is doing this, just go to settings --> applications --> (the apps that is pushing ads in notification) --> uncheck the display notification option or sth like that (sorry, its Friday and I'm a bit lazy to move my hands to the phone to get the exact steps...).

the other type of ad which I'm ok with is the one that appears in game. i normally let it be. fact is... developers need to earn money for food, roof over their head, etc. they gave the apps free to you thinking they can earn from ads. usually, developers will have 2 versions: paid (without ads) and free (but with ads). those apps that charge you and still display apps, feel free to 1* them in reviews. biggrin.gif

i will go on to also add: do support the developers, especially if they have a nice game/ apps. if they dun earn anything for their time (to develop the apps), do you think they will continue to improve it or have a sequel? even rm10 is nothing these days... just probably a McD meal.

good to always check the reviews/ feedback... it's not about how many comments/ reviews the apps have (because there are known cases where reviews are faked using bot accounts). do go thru the reviews and see what issues others are facing, etc...

and also give your own after trying for a week. biggrin.gif
