lads played superbly well today...if it wasnt because of jaaskelainen, the score margin would have been higher
we're back to 3rd place

next, hectic schedule begins...6 games in the space of 16 days (not really sure though, just heard frm commentator)....

Played well. Lampard/Ba should have taken chances.

MaZaCar just keeps improving. Very very nice to see.

Hazard MOTM. Great game by Mata, Azpilicueta, Cech, Cole & Ramires.

good game..good control of the midfielder..hazard occasionally lost possession a few times early in the game..but step up magnificently in the second half..hazard-mata combo..was great..good goal lamp200..he might break tambling's record this month..and ktbffh..

hazard and mata definitely on a good form..Oscar a little bit off but still there were moments of magic..he just need more game time..actually before Mata come in..I never imagine Chelsea will play like this again and sign 3 No.10 players..

and we look more stable now..

masterclass performance to Hazard and Mata. yeah, Mata deserves credit too. Their link-up play is outstanding. Anyway, let's not carried away by this victory as we've seen many games when this Mazacar having an off day we would struggle.

and congratz to Super Frank for reaching the milestone. Now break that eternal record!!

I prefer Cech..haha laugh.gif

so international break..hmm i hope none of the players come back with injury..because after this..the fixtures quite hectic..game after game..good that terry wont involve at least we still got the captain fit..rubin kazan and united..two quite large hurdle to deal with..

if we can go pass united..the fixture against spurs will be reschedule..

the fixture against sunderland will be delayed 24 hours to the next day because of the game against Rubin Kazan...

good gosh it's the international break... i think our players need the break after a tight schedule... after the break, here we go again.... looks like lampard will break the 202 goals record in no time... i think by that time, Roman will offer Lampard a new contract... or has he been offered one?

Our manager slaughterhouse is frowned upon by the footballing world for obvious reasons. But no one can argue with the number of trophies during that time. RA isn't intentionally giving managers the boot. He does want a long term manager. Remember AVB, he's supposed to be 'the one'. But he didn't even last the season. And then we won the champions league. So in a way that's the best decision he has ever made. Personally, although i'm very happy with the trophies and success recently, I would like to see a really good manager to be the face of the Blues for long-term. Someone we can depend on. The problem is, no matter how good he is, he will have to win something every season.

The number of trophies relate with the key decisions by the board..most of the mid season sacking always improve the squad..except this season..because I think RDM can do it better..I think we really need a special one..i mena not directly mourinho..but anyone..that can stand the board and roman..at the same time let the team perform and successful. I do think if he cannot win anything..at least we must challenging or improving..another reason why can change manager easily without disturb the squad..its because of the key and backbone of the squad..Mr Chelsea, Lamp, Drogba, Cech and A Cole..the influential player in the dressing room..

Neymar > Falcao > Lukaku

next season if we were to call back all our youngster back, we should establish a very good depth team, this four surely have to comeback and serve their mother club

1. KDB
2. Curtouis
3. Lukaku
4. Piazon

I think piazon and KDB will still be loaned out for another season.

They will waste a precious year on the bench if they are in this current Chelsea team.

Curtois because our Turnbull & Hilario contract ending.
He and Cech can rotate around.

Meanwhile on Lukaku, I think it's either Torres/Ba out first.

i dont think courtois will accept being at the bench only. he is only 20 and doing very very well at athletico. best to let him develop more there. plus, athletico is no calang-calang team in la liga.. better if we can extend turnbull contract or get other stand-in in case cech is injured. jaaskelainen maybe?

piazon better go on loan again. if we offload torres, then only he can come back. if not, the competition will be too big for him to handle.

i agree on KDB coming back here. if lampard is really going, then he really must be at SB next season. i think oscar will play at lampard position next season. so we need another wide players to rotate around between hazard, moses and mata.

agree on lukaku issue as well. torres out and he comes back. or he stay at west brom. lukaku and courtois is doing really really well at the moment. will not bring any benefit if we recall them but cannot give them good game time.

i agree on KDB coming back here. if lampard is really going, then he really must be at SB next season. i think oscar will play at lampard position next season. so we need another wide players to rotate around between hazard, moses and mata.

agree on lukaku issue as well. torres out and he comes back. or he stay at west brom. lukaku and courtois is doing really really well at the moment. will not bring any benefit if we recall them but cannot give them  good game time.
*
agree that courtois..better stay at Atletico

delac will return..he already 3 years on loan..now can apply for work permit..

piazon agree with you..loan again..

kdb also agree with you..he can play as one of the new trio..

agree with you also that oscar must play at lampard position..

lukaku issue as well. if there is no movement out from SB..then he better stay at WBA..

hmm conclusion..i agree with most of what u wrote here..

Lukaku - Must return. Premier League level edi. Now he has to take it a step further and play with the big boys.

Piazon - Need more loan time. He's getting more playing chances in Malaga than I expected. Good for him.

KDB - Must return next season. Bundesliga regular, clocking 90min most matches. Now he must play with chelsea to see whether it'll work or not.

Courtois - Tricky one. I'm not a big fan of keeper rotation, so better he spends another season away.

JM - I think he can spend another season on loan as he lost one season(11-12). Hope can play in Premier League. Same for Chaloboah, Hutchinson etc. Ake, Feruz can go out on loan also.

Essien - Can provide utility and depth, as long he is able to maintain fitness and form.

Its important to keep some players next season as quality in depth is needed for rotation. This season, we cannot play well w/o Mata and Hazard even against lesser teams. Lampard replacement is vital. Ram-Mikel pivot won't cut it for the whole season, especially due to inconsistent form. So a class central mid is needed, whether is Oscar, KDB, or if we're going to recruit one, hope its not someone too young, but established and experienced. Crucial summer and transfer window coming up, it could make or break our next season.

I only wanna see Courtois come in and replace Cech biggrin.gif
If loan for too long, and worst yet, to the same club, the player's heart sure change and will both adapt and adopt the club he is loaned to..cannot risk to lose Courtois to AM sad.gif

i think GK is the last position you will have rotation in your mind. only one position available and most of the time, the regular will be selected. usually, rotation is done to lessen fatigue and tiredness. are GK that tired? most of the time, the same regular keeper will be used, unless he is either injured (cudicinni time when cech is out) or due to inconsistent form (arsenal and man utd case). other than that, rotation of GK simply not necessary.

lukaku is a premier league material already. next question is can he get the crucial game time for his development at SB? even when torres is not scoring, he is not selected. why? because at chelsea, managers can't gamble on selection because every game might be their last game. that is why unless somebody from striking department go out, then only lukaku can come back. with so many options for our midfield, there is only 1 starting berth for a striker. 3 options is actually good but at chelsea, the 3rd one will only get a cameo.. this is reality.

Zola is a legend no doubt..credit to Gullit and Vialli that carve the blueprint of success after Glenn Hoddle..

Lampard sure challenging for the best of chelsea now..cuz a midfielder that score that amount of goal and a vice captain..

but we all love both of them hahaha

we will see where the jose rumors will go..if he return home then i will explain more on the 'script'..

Will never forget that marvelous lob. Especially since our strikers / midfielders rarely beat keepers with such audacious attempts.
So jose has dropped the biggest hint yet? Pretty sure it won’t be inter. Porto is in there with a hint of a shout, but I doubt he’d want to return to Portugal so soon. Which leaves..only us. Now after seeing how we’ve distinctly lacked fight and focus for huge parts of this season, it’s hard to deny that he’s the best candidate to whip us into shape.

After observing a fair number of madrid’s games this season, I’ve noticed they’re actually quite capable of playing good football and although it’s not exactly barca, Swansea or arsenal, it does the job and quite capable of ripping the opposition to shreds. Roman will just have to put his tiki-taka pipedream on hold. Our youngsters won’t have much hope, but the work jose has done with callejon, varane and morata offers the remote chance of the leopard slightly ‘altering’ it’s spots. Not holding my breath. He’ll love lukaku, but that’s about it me thinks.

I have a feeling roman’s set it up. The prospect of us maintaining our pressing game with a solid tactical / defensive awareness, combined with fantastic interplay (the mazacar trio’s strengths will always shine through) is certainly mouthwatering.

No smoke without fire as they say.

that trio changing roles as playmaker in the game.. sometimes..lampard will be the playmaker..when lampard run forward..ballack control the pitch..if both of them cannot deal with the ball..deco can distribute the ball..it just like Hazard, Mata and Oscar trio..but this one..3 CM..current team we got 3 AM...

Speaking about midfield trio in 433, I think my all time favorite would be Lampard, Essien and Makelele during Mourinho era.
Makelele was incredible in his position, and this is why the defensive midfield role are often called as the Makelele role nowadays.
The 433 under Mourinho is most effective against 442 formation. I remember Mourinho once said that, under a 433 formation, the team will always have advantage against a 442 team where the team only has 2 midfielders side by side.

QUOTE
‘Look, if I have a triangle in midfield – Claude Makelele behind and two others just in front – I will always have an advantage against a pure 4-4-2 where the central midfielders are side by side. That’s because I will always have an extra man. It starts with Makelele, who is between the lines. If nobody comes to him he can see the whole pitch and has time. If he gets closed down it means one of the two other central midfielders is open. If they are closed down and the other team’s wingers come inside to help, it means there is space now for us on the flank, either for our own wingers or for our full-backs. There is nothing a pure 4-4-2 can do to stop things’.

I like Malouda-Lampard-Ballack trio under Carlo era too. Those rampaging wins!

and see what happen to him..?

2 years JM will bolt out? maybe not..if he can bring success...Roman never done any mistake twice..

simple solution to stay as chelsea manager..you perform you improve..you can stay. minor hiccup acceptable..but never mess with the dressing room and avoid free fall.

not a problem..mata and hazard basically a winger if oscar play..cuz he prefer to stay at centre..mata already a winger during his first season..hazard just like maria..

but..i doubt that we will revert to 4-3-3 IF Mou return..

Real also play 4-2-3-1 nowadays..

i think most probably will be 4-3-3... as long as lampard is still in the squad... JM will of course bring the best of lampard playing 4-3-3... perhaps, jm going to bring modrid for us.. just some small prediction, if jm come back, he will bring modrid, and use essien and lampard in the midfield.. i strongly believe.

just some news i read yesterday night a part of the jm return contract... jm don want michael emenalo to be higher in the management hierarchy than JM

nope..JM is a manager that use what he got..he will play defensively if the team better at defensive..but will use attacking if the team got more attacking player..
example..Inter and Real..

our current squad set up for 4-2-3-1..

if JM did came back to SB, i don't think he will build the team around lampard. let us face the reality. lampard is already 34. to build a team around him is pretty useless. because in 1 or 2 years, you need to rebuild again. in my personal opinon, if JM really want to play wide again, his best bet would be building the team around oscar.. or around our new striker. be it falcao or even lukaku.

the only drawback building a team around oscar is on his stamina level. lampard is awesome, no problem to eat up 90 minutes week in week out during his peak. but i doubt oscar can do that.

building a team around a striker is a big gamble. when the main striker is injured, the stand-in will have to emulate the main striker play style to get the best effect. JM need to really think about this..

yup. that seems to be the best bet.. just stating my personal preferences. for me, i somehow think building the team using someone who play in middle is easier than someone who play out wide. if we can get KDB to SB next season, then mata definitely can be the new pillar!

i like the idea of hazard being at the center of the play but sometime he takes too much risk with his fancy play. mata seems a bit more intelligent than him. from my observation only lar..

exactly the point that most of us will agree.. as for me, will be good if we can somehow tempt jaaskelainen or schwarzer to SB. reason? i think this two are already at their peak and maybe still got 3-4 years of game time left. with chance to win some silverware before the pull down the curtain of their career being the tempting factor..

no need finding unproven or wonderkid GK because it will take a serious luck to dethroned the godlike cech.

GK stats for 12/13 season.. jasskelainen and schwarzer are top 8 GKs

the idea is that courtois or delac will success cech..but as No.1..we always need to find a new and reliable No.2. with loyal hilario and turnbull contract expiring..we almost definitely gonna sign a veteran GK..the club prefer to sign a GK that his contract also expiring..maybe under Bosman rule..or pay a little amount of money.. hmm.gif

jamal is promising but i dont think he is a backup material yet. being a backup doesn't mean he is there just to fill the position. when the manager decide to rest cech or he is injured, the backup need to perform really really well because he is the last line of defence. making a poor decision might cost us in knock-out competition or the precious points in the league run-ins.

I don't think it's solid, given the fact that SAF still wants to remain at the helm for another couple of years. JM looked certain leaving the Bernebau this summer, so maybe it's just the media.

Same with me too, but I think so far non of of players have ever move to MU before or vice versa. With 2 games in 3 days, I reckon Torres will get the nod this Saturday, and Ba on Monday since he's cup tied against Rubin Kazan next Thursday?

how well has benzema done this season for madrid though..if i'm not mistaken he went slightly off the boil this year? kind of similar to ba, so i prefer higuain. hmm.gif

"We need to have patience. A team can't be built just like that. It's normal for it to take a while: new people with new ideas, from elsewhere. It's not easy. But it's a question of time. And for now? For now we have a month and a half left, a Champions League place to chase and the chance to win two cups. That's a nice challenge."

- Azpilicueta interview with the Guardian.

Benzema vs Higuain
I think both equally very good. I like both players' styles but the latter will suit chelsea more IMO. Not very keen on next windows' targets for now. More interested in our busy week. C'mon Blues. Define our season!

Added on
In other news,
I'm very suprised about the racists chants targeting the Ferdinands by a group of ENGLAND fans. I mean, wtf? We all may hate the brothers' guts for various reasons, but racially abusing them is sickening. It's not like they have committed a terrible sin. Furthermore, its their own players. The dark side of beautiful game...
Sorry if I bummed anyone up. Don't let these uncivilized f*cks ruin our spirits.

Arsenal forcing us to keep the ball in our half. But momentum starting to shift.

Man, i would like to see full-strength u21 match. Lukaku, Piazon, Josh, Courtois, Ake, Chaloboah, Wilshere, Ox, Jenkinson etc.

haha the young ones doing it the hard way..or should i say the chelsea way! laugh.gif

boga, feruz, ruben, swift and baker, we're blessed with so much young talent. feruz reminds me of a shorter version of eto'o. if jose takes over, i hope he at least considers them.

i clearly remember what he said about scott sinclair, the season before he was sacked he said this boy is going to be in the first team next year. a few months after that, sinclair picked up a horrible injury and the special one was let go. how quickly things can turn around in life aye. sweat.gif

i hate the rumours about KDB being included for the schurrle deal. not worth losing kevin for a sub-striker at best.

Cech; Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Terry ©, Bertrand; Mikel,Lampard; Moses, Oscar, Marin; Torres.

Subs: Turnbull, Cole, David Luiz, Ramires, Hazard, Benayoun, Ba.

Mata rested.

Lets see whether Moses-Marin combo can click with Torres.

Sotong's high line always gives a chance for teams attacking them. Problem is do Chelsea have anyone on the field to exploit that?

losing the match is one thing.. but losing when we opted to play the long balls is on a whole new level.

moses = 177cm, marin = 170cm, torres = 183cm, oscar = 180cm. do we got chance to win the ball? highest height is torres but still, is it reasonable opting for long balls when 3/4 of your front 4 have no chance to win it? really really bad gamble by benitez..

cannot brain on the tactics..

squad rotation..no problem..but his tactis sucks badly..

the player selected tonight much better under 4-3-3 Wings..

Cech
Azpi,Iva,Terry,Bertrand
Lamp,Mikel Oscar
Moses,Torres,Marin

why play 4-2-3-1..when we got only 1 No.10.. shakehead.gif

and the team look kinda lost most of the time..? maybe motivation.. whistling.gif hmmm maybe Roman not motivate them enough..arrghhh..cuz I cant blame Rafa now..cuz the team just lost the game.. doh.gif

Our first match of our crazy week and we were outplayed by bottom half team. Straight from the get go, we were poor. No signs of possession, pressure, nothing at all.

We shouldn't be conceding goals like the first one. But we did. It's ok to concede to a free kick like that but we must be able to fight back after that. I feel like everyone was playing at 70%. I was hoping a win in the league will give us more room to fight for other competitions but this loss changes everything.

Crucial league games are coming and we need to get the UCL spots at all costs. The truth is we can't compete for all competitions with fixtures like this, not until we find a way for Mata and Hazard to play 90 min at 110% at every game.

soton coach lama pun almost menang lwn manchesters team. van persie tak score penalty tp last minit winner.tak adanya baru tukar coach baru main cantik bro.

mentality players tak ada desire.yg main atas padang player bkn coach. tgk sunderland main last nite.1st half like no desire to play football at all. martin o neill kot. if am not mistaken this morning kena sack alrd?

tunggu2 jgk la smp contract hbs. last sizen out of top 4 still dapat main ch league. this season guna winning coach yg sama tp tak lepas grouping. takkan salah rdm jgk bro? banyak kali concede from 2 nil up..takkan salah coach. mentaliti ..ketahanan mental..desire full 90mins. last nite i see... zero.

mentality..desire..hunger is not somethg u can buy. jose mourinho dgn real madrid. tgk vs zaragoza smlm... mourinho kot.padahal player main malas gila..

apa guna 'kita bg power kat player' tapi player asyik backstab fans dgn main mcmtu.. malas.. boring.. tak smgt. yg kena coach. 2 nil up kali sekali dua ok la boleh respek opponent bagus jgk.. ni dah berapa kali kena..

rafa mmg aku dah ban lama. before game tgk mata tak ada dlm list.. cahill takde..luiz takde..hazard bench.. aku da rasa confirm kenak.so coach mcm rafa tu masalah lain pulak.

so nasib next coach chelsea depends pada players power lg ke? kena tunggu jt and lamps retired lah baru ada stability camtu. sbb nasib coach depends pada player nak dgr/taknak dgr cakap boss.

no one is bigger than the team. kalau senior players syg team patut respek boss..demi kemajuan team. main all out full desire. roy keane dulu pn bukan the most skillful tp passion dia 200%.. masalah chelsea skg ni players punya mentaliti. player ada bakat..talent.. lengkap la orang kata..tp mentaliti mcm "erm another day in the office"

which means no one is bigger than a team.

u legend tapi u tak cukup besar dari team ni so u blah. u cannot respect management punya decision..u out.

i really wanna looking forward next season but with our 4th place is not confirm yet haihhh..

next year dunno who will be the next manager..coz they 'must suit the players'

soton lama tak consistent..if tak diorang tak tkr manager..so tkr2 manager bkn mslh nye..arsenal tak tkr sama je camtu gak..sekata je dah berape season..

sape je nk rafa tu mmg semua palang..just player kne step up lh demi club..

of cuz..mmg depend on player power..if tak leh control dressing room mmg tak lyk jadi manager..lps jt dan lamaprd..new guard dah nmpk dah skrn ni..hazard, mata dan luiz..boss kne pandai control lah tak semestinye kne ikut je player..

Think so... another example from SAF is when he shipped out RVN pasal gaduh ngan Ronaldo (i.e he said "Go cry to your daddy a.k.a queiroz)

Thing is, RDM dapat control diorang tuh, even though he rotate Lampard and JT around.

ok aku stuju kau kena tgk context..point aku ni tak relate sgt dgn game smlm.. more like to general statement to next manager. serius dah takda smgt since rafa masuk ni. tapi game semalam teruk bukan teruk sangat cuma tak nampak langsung player nak main utk 3 points. ..aku dah lama blame rafa..tapi player still ada tugas dia atas padang. rafa tak reti motivate ke hape tu masalah lain pulak.

actually masa senior players buat hal igt tak luiz pernah tegur senior players yg buat hal. apesal kena ikut telunjuk senior players bro? mata boleh je ikut cakap..ivanovic pun kira senior..etc etc.so kat sini MAYBE few senior players yang buat hal je. skg ni boss dia ialah manager..bukan player. tak kira la kalau esok alex ferguson masuk pon ..lampard terry kena la respect cara dia. kalau alex ferguson kata datang training ground pukul7 am (padahal selalu 8.30am pun boleh)..player kena ikut. there is NO REASON kata "err ni bukan caranya". same like Malaysian team..u think it's good if players like chopot and aidil buat hal konon2 kena ikut style dorang? macamtu letak coach mat salleh je budak2 ni buat hal..mmg coach la kena pecat sbb result nampak direct link kat coach.

that's why dalam dunia ni semua manager ada character masing2..takkan semua manager kena suits character lampard dgn terry je kot bro? susah la cmtu.
dahlah skg ni limited manager yang nak datang chelsea. aku harap mourinho je lah skg ni.

another point : actually as a team like chelsea..every game is a hard game..no easy passage. sbb tu dorang dibayar 100k above. sbb tu josh mceachran susah nak mencelah main first eleven.. aside from tactical view..being paid extra than the others in the league means extra commitment on the pitch. tak silap aku lepas kalah dgn result ref bangang vs Man U kat stamford bridge terus down gila performance. kalau ikutkan kita still guna coach yang 'boleh buat apa yg player nak' iaitu RDM..tapi result atas padang?

crime RDM (season dia kena pecat) bg aku satu jer masa lwn juventus kat turin..most of the time dia mcm dengar cakap fans iaitu main cantik..menyerang..mata hazard oscar combo..etc etc.

tapi still tak bleh deliver result. talent wise kita menang bro. pakai reserve benayoun ke bertrand ke lagi sedap dari soton first 11 yang baru promoted kot. tak logik la nak kata reserve kita tak sama level dgn first 11 soton. pasal game semalam serius aku rasa masalah commitment /mental mcm too complacent gila gila malas nak main

edit : sorry if it seems like an outburst. really pissed off last nite to see our 11 on the pitch play like sunday league footballers .. no passion mad.gif

our strikers performance:
torres = 16 goals
ba = 4 goals

man united
persie = 23 goals
rooney = 16 goals
hernandez = 16 goals
welbeck = 2 goals

how jealous i am seeing the stats.. i know in chelsea, the burden to score goals was never on the shoulder of the strikers. since mourinho era, we got lampard and drogba banging in the goals. not to forget all our wide players at that time was very potent with the like of robben and duff. then at one time, we got anelka.

at the moment, although our midfielders keep scoring goals, our striker draw blanks.. torres is now a thing of the past. really hope not to see him anymore next season. ba should stay. and we better find a good replacement to fill in drogba's boot. or we can always gable on lukaku to do that, with FFP in our mind.

yup, i know our midfielders does contribute a lot of goals. but still it is a sole duty that a striker must do. if not, why we put him up front? our midfielder are scoring goals like crazy.. surely will be a lot better if our striker can do the same. i think for a striker, achieving at least 15 goals is a must. 20 is expected. 25 is exceptional. 30 is awesome.

man utd midfield = 10 goals
chelsea midfield = 61 goals

okay i know the idea has been thrown about a few times, but is anyone else just about ready to throw in the towel in our cup competitions?

based on my observation, rafa is just too stubborn to change his ways and the more we progress in the europa and FA cup, be prepared for more 6/7 changes in personnel between matches. initially i was trying to accept the idea, but clearly this squad is just not good enough to cope with constant chopping and changing. whether its a question of mentality or talent is another matter, but if we remain in those cups i mentioned, i believe we'll be out of the top four, maybe with even a couple of games to spare.

the impact of missing out on a CL spot cannot be taken lightly, as this will have a domino effect in terms of our managerial appointment where jose will obviously say 'thanks but no thanks,' while other top managers will also see our position and steer clear away from the much publicised 'poisoned chalice.' apart from that i fear some of our top players (even those on loan) will begin to bemoan our absence from europe's premier competition, and court interest from other big teams. mata and oscar i'm relatively confident about, as the former has already got his hands on the trophy, and the latter isn't quite a superstar yet. but our other golden boy hazard? don't be shocked if he responds to interest from united and city. the futures of lukaku and kdb will also be thrown into doubt, u can bet on that, and the media will also lend a 'helping hand' to make damn sure of it.

at the moment rafa is concentrating a lot on trying to secure trophies and enhance his CV but can you really blame the man? he's been out in managerial wilderness for what..two years? it's the best chance he's got to increase his stock and improve his reputation, which means securing silverware. why should he be worried about what happens to the future of cfc? heck he shouldn't as he knows he'll definitely be moved on. that's what makes this season's managerial fiasco so potentially damaging. at least robbie had strong emotional connections to the club which will fuel his sense of responsibility with regards to what happens 'next,' and obviously this doesn't apply to benitez. i honestly hope heads will roll after this campaign ends, especially the board members who advised roman on this particular appointment.

top four is still our do or die priority. if that means exiting all the other competitions and 'forcing' a full strength (or at the very least well rested) squad on benitez to slog it out with spurs, arsenal and everton, so be it. put in a good shift against utd today to ensure the fans get their money's worth and i'll be perfectly content with that. can't believe i'm saying this, but i don't mind if our fa cup adventure ends this evening. sigh.

really when mikel does some forward runs it makes a difference, can get more space and chance to pass around. But then he seldom does that and it also leaves the back more vulnerable to counter attacks.

Ah, but ask any Arsenal fan and they lament more about the lack of silverware than fourth spot. Recall how they ridicule Wenger when he said getting 4th was like a trophy.

We are very much different from ARSENAL, they are what they are now because their boardroom are full of businessman playing for the profit, they sell their best player, they cap their salary unable to compete for top players, they are proud of their long serving manager. While CHELSEA, our top man RA has the money, ambition and love for football, as long as he is here and still interested, i am pretty sure we would not turn into a ARSENAL. But unable to compete in Champion League and unable to attract top players we might turn into a LIVERPOOL. With FFP already here, even with RA money we wont be able to pay silly money to attract top player to get us back to top 4. The Champion League revenue will also help us balance our book, so we looks good on FFP and can spend more on transfer market for top players to keep us competitive.

Cech - good strings of saves..deal with crosses..usual Cech

Azpi - runs..important runs and definitely a Cole on the right.

Cole - damn it..2 weeks off for him..

Betrand - shaky a few times..but step up to fill the void left by Cole..

Iva - Solid

Luiz - Mobile and dictate the game from behind..

Rami - Runs..Runs..Runs..

Mikel - Usual Mikel, sideways..backpass..but..he control everything in the middle !!! Good game Mikel !!

MAZACAR - Mata a little bit greedy..want to make impression maybe..but overall his creativity was vital..Hazard..a few good runs and pass..he should score that one..missed by inches..Oscar..all over the place..damn hahaha good control of the ball and operate mostly at the wings..

Ba - GOAL !! and his attitude to drop deep and help midfielder..is good

Moses and Torres - Well..not bad..but not that impressive..no immediate impact..

Not Oscar's best match. But playing him with Mata and Hazard is always better than any other option. Next season need to build a SQUAD based on today's lineup. KDB has a big role to play when he returns, he has to match this 3. Maybe he doesn't play in a similar style, but he still has to show similar techincal ability and possibly give us different option. We need more options at pivot. Mikel, Rami, Romeu maybe one more will do. Mourinho Next manager has to decide this, maybe keep Josh as fourth option, or play Essien and buy some one.

agree with you our pivot need option..Romeu and someone else..Essien, Josh or maybe a new signing..

exactly. rafa has no obligation (although the board strongly disagree) to 'ensure' we finish in the CL places. an 'fa cup / europa league winner' with chelsea always sounds more glamorous than 'securing a top four finish,' so if that's secretly (or openly depending on how u look at it) his target, that's no fault of his.

okay that wasn't a vintage performance, but could've easily been two or three nil if we were more decisive in utd's penalty box. ramires had a wonderful game imo, and he's my man of the match. tirelessly covering the pitch, and i think he's realised if he just stays CALM in possession, his touch will be naturally astute, and those brazilian quick feet will eventually take over. mata was unusually selfish, its as if he was on a personal vendetta to beat de gea. didn't work out for him, but that ball over the top for ba to dispatch was stunning. the senegalese produced a finish to leave the keeper rooted to the spot, and the connection he made was perfect. in real-time it looked like a bit of a miskick, but when you watch the replays it was an example of amazing technique and timing.

hazard and oscar didn't have their best display, but still managed keep things reasonably fluid in the final third. that miss from eden though, was really-really uncharacteristic. fully expected him to beat de gea with a slide-rule finish.
mikel did his job well, that good attempt on goal which was deflected out for a corner, probably his standout attacking moment.

when bertrand came on i was genuinely worried. but ryan did extremely well keeping that left side secure with some well timed interceptions and tackles. he's got a great leap on him as well, winning some good aerial battles! i felt azpi held back a little with the rampaging runs, but his flank was also marshaled expertly. iva and luiz were allright, but some lapse marking late in the game could've cost us. it was a good time for van persie to have some 'torres moments' especially the mistimed strike that flew over the bar from 7 yards out. not forgetting cech with an unbelievable save, just when he looked a bit shaky in the first 45. linesmen did chicarito a huge favour by keeping his flag down, i thought that offside call wasn't too hard to make. amazing save, nonetheless.

well its all good fun to smash utd's double hopes into smithereens, but if we continue to falter in the league this win will be utterly pointless. now if rafa can repeat his 6 / 7 changes in the europa league so we get a 'good' result, then field today's strongest 11 at the weekend, i'll be ecstatic. (somehow i just doubt that'll happen sweat.gif )

this weekend's match vs sunderland is one of our biggest matches this season. make no mistake about it.

note: read some comments on vital chelsea about moses being the new kalou..*shudder* hope they're wrong. oh and don't forget the nextgen final vs aston villa at midnight! it's live on astro.

KDB already said he is unsure of chelsea future.

If KDB is to be back, we won't have any midfield space to play KDB. I do think our squad is kinda overloaded with midfielders. If we were to play with wingers, KDB can cover the position, but if we're not, he is going to play in the center.

Ramires, Romeu, Mikel, Lamps, Oscar. It is simply too many players already. Marin, Moses, Mata, Hazard.

Sometimes I'm sad and disappointed with Chelsea's activity in the market. We buy players and we don't fully utilize them. SWP, Parker.
They were really great in their previous club, but when they came to Chelsea, their career ruined by the lack of chances to play.

looking at the current pool of midfielders, yep, looks like there is no more room for KDB. but specifically looking at wide players, there is some room i think. we only got hazard, mata (which is a waste of talent playing him on the wide), moses, marin and oscar (occasionally). worse case scenario, if lampard leave, i think the only player left to fill the gap is oscar. and to maintain mata in the hole behind the striker, we will be left with only hazard, marin and moses on the wide. adding KDB here is good since wide player is quite tiring.. heavily involved in attacking and defense phase.. to make it more convenient, loan out marin and the competition between the 3 (moses, KDB, hazard) should be good to them.

It's not about the size of the squad, it's about the quality in the squad. This season where find it extremely difficult winning games with 2 of our players.
I want us to be to able to field a lesser line up and get a result against weaker team.

Lets take yesterday's mids for example.
Start: Mikel-Rami-Mata-Hazard-Oscar
Bench: Lamps-Moses-Yossi
Not Playing: Romeu,Marin

Lamps will be leaving, and maybe Yossi too? That already leaves two spots. We can let go of Marin or at least on loan. If you ask me, KDB deserves a spot there. We don't have to rotate squad unnecessarily. Just swap one or two players max from our best 5, each match. This way we will build a reliable squad, and not having rotation(due to fixture pile-up) to cause drastic consequences.

change formation will help to accommodate KDB and Josh. either revert back to 4-3-3 or 4-5-1.

change formation will help to accommodate KDB and Josh. either revert back to 4-3-3 or 4-5-1.

Salam 1Chelsea kepada semua peminat MUFC. tongue.gif

4-5-1 will be just the same as 4-2-3-1..still 5 slots for midfielder..KDB can operate just like Mata..he can be a wing playmaker or operate in hole..his current performance on par with Oscar..so he can challenge the first 11..Josh first team chance will depend on Lamps contract..

I have strong feeling that lampard will go. Even no lampard, there's another midfielder blocking josh path.
I'd believe KDB style is more to wide type (by looking at the number of his cross during Genk time) compare to mata who always dribble inside, similar like moses style, always dribble wide. yes, he is better to take over oscar wide formation. oscar is way better operate from center.

i think his personal aim is to break tambling's record and go on a high note..just like didier..

oscar drop to CM..and KDB/Moses at the wing..actually if MAZACAR can keep their form up..we dont need any new signing except for a striker..

Easy, any next game if we get penalty, immediately sub Lampard in tongue.gif

Actually we do need some good depth backup. This season, when MAZACAR not playing, Chelsea are toothless & clueless. Too many games to play this season. Can see clearly Chelsea not able to cope that with current players.

Cole will be out for 2 weeks. But if we enter final he will be able to play and continue his Mr. FA legacy.

In this 2 weeks we will play 4 games, good time for Bertrand to get more first-team experience.

4/4 Rubin Kazan
7/4 Sunderland
11/4 Rubin Kazan
14/4 Manchester City

17/4 Fulham
21/4 Liverpool
27/4 Swansea City

We really do have a tough and crazy fixture pile up.

well before the game they all can talk all they want..cant say much about them..we all knew already..

because we won the game..less invaders into this thread..just a few united's regular poster here..we welcome them because they are not 'typical' united fans..

next will be rubin kazan..damn tough match..well any russian side is a nightmare for european team..

if i'm not mistaken the fixture will be at moscow..and not rubin kazan's home stadium..because of snow..temperature that sort of things..

Some good tactical reading on Chelsea tactic.

Zonal Marking

This portion clearly identify our pivot problem. Oscar should start from deep center.

QUOTE
Ramires-Mikel problem

But with Ramires and Mikel not closed down, United’s two banks of four could drop deep and concentrate on denying Chelsea’s three playmakers space. The away side remained admirably compact, and the space for Chelsea was either behind the Manchester United defence, or in front of their midfield.

Because of Mikel and Ramires’ lack of incision, it would have been worth Benitez moving a more creative player into the centre of midfield. It might have been seen as a peculiar decision to switch Ramires to the right of midfield, enabling Oscar to drop into the deeper role he started his career in (and has sometimes replicated with Chelsea this season) – but that’s where the space was, so that’s where Chelsea needed invention.

In a way, that’s how the goal arrived – one of Chelsea’s creative players finally dropped away from the packed two banks of four, and into a position free from midfield pressure. Welbeck got goalside of Mata but not close enough, and to the Spaniard’s right, allowing him to use his favoured left foot to chip a pass over the top for Ba. The pass was good, the finish was perfect.

Chelsea’s system is all about creative players buzzing between the lines, but Manchester United prevented them playing in that area – Chelsea showed adaptability by bypassing that zone with the game’s key pass.

And why wanna put some insulting avatar on ur own account? Especially when its insulting other team's logo. No offence, but i find it very childish n immature. Rather than putting some avatar that insult other team, why not put one that shows ur support n love for the club u love ?

put a pet as replacement to the current ones is insulting? i find it hard to believe

lets say you put cat/guinea pig/mouse instead of dog? would it be insulting as well?

is football going to be sensitive matters as well? last time i check we exchange insult between fans and we take it as an adult

haish couldnt understand, it so sacred now and make racism / religious beliefs behind football

He is the hot new property in Spain. Dubbed as the next 'Fabregas' Isco is everyone's want. The 20 year old has taken the Champions League and La Liga by storm and has filled in the missing boots of Santi Cazorla. The Malaga FC player is being sought after by many top clubs.

Isco is just another typical Spanish playmaker. Right footed, intelligent and always giving his full for the team. He, despite being technically sound as a playmaker, always has an eye for goal. He unlocks defenses with his well-timed precise passes, knows when to time his run, and more importantly, how to put the ball in the back of the net. He is great with his first touch and a master at playing one two’s with fellow team mates just near the edge of the box. A player who is good with both short passes and has a vision for long cross through balls to find the players in the box. Likes to show off his amazing skills and make a mockery of a defense by dribbling past them with his amazing pace like. A team player who makes the team click and makes the wingers a huge part of his off the ball generosity by making sublime passes, possibly the reason he doesn’t assists so much goals. The most amazing attribute of his game is that he doesn’t goes down easily but when he does he wins a foul. A mixture of Iniesta, Frank Lampard and Cesc Fabregas is more like what you’d come to expect from Isco when you ponder his specialities above.

Isco rather in the mould of Hazard. Low gravity, close control. Might struggle with the physicality of Premier League.

I think we don't need a marquee signing to reinforce the current crop of players. What we need is Jose Mourinho biggrin.gif
