he was our best striker for last season..we must keep our best player..i dont mind if we let ba go..

simple formula..keep your best player..and add more better player..the team automatically will be better..just need to find a way to rotate the squad and keep the dressing room happy.. smile.gif

Topic Today : John Obi Mikel heading for the door??

QUOTE
There were a few reports emerging this weekend suggesting Galatasaray could be interested in signing our Nigerian midfielder, John Obi Mikel, for a fee of around £18 million.

What does the CD community think of this? Is Obi Mikel an 'expendable resource'? Or does he still have a role to play for us next season?

I've gotta say, for £18 million, I definitely think I'd be willing to part ways with the Nigerian. I know he's a bit of a stalwart, but in my opinion, he's hit a bit of a plateau, and he just isn't good enough to warrant a starting spot, week-in, week-out. And for a pretty good chunk of change like £18 million, I think we could reinvest that money and do much, much better than Mikel.

Bottomline (for me): If we can fetch somewhere around the reported amount, I'd be more than happy to wish him well on his way to Turkey.

What do you all think? If we were to sell him, it'd presumably be to make room for a new CDM to come in - who do you think it will be/who do you want it to be?

I think Mikel is replaceable..his major contribution is the stability at the midfield..I beleive there are players out there that can provide that and more.. nod.gif

If Mikel really leave then..we must sign someone or maybe Mou decided to use Essien there.. smile.gif

Essien is enough to replace Mikel, provided if Essien stay FIT. His knee injury always seems to bug him.
