Anyone have fuel related issues? Mine will jerk or lose power on acceleration. Suspect either injectors, glow plugs or even fuel pump.

QUOTE(lucifah @ Apr 2 2013, 04:08 PM) when was the last time you changed your fuel filter? Fuel filter changed July last year.and how many km since the last SCV change? this worries me... Looks like I need to change both fuel filter and SCV together this weekend. Problem not serious yet because truck still can start and move but if u push hard, engine will die. Last year, even worse... truck can't even start. |

Heard from an overseas forum, they recommend a bigger SCV found on bus or lorry engines. Still a Mitsubishi part (actually DENSO) but larger. Will go for this upgrade. If it breaks down again, I'm selling this truck for scrap or downgrade to Exora Bold. I need turbo power.

Ordered an Isuzu SCV... should be arriving today from Thailand. According to spec, it is larger than stock Mitsubishi one. Only fits 2006-2009 Tritons.

Just read in a UK forum, they recommend putting some 2T oil into the diesel tank to lubricate the injectors and SCV. Got such thing meh? Mix should be 200 part diesel and 1 part 2T. Anyone heard of this?

QUOTE(kevinycp @ Apr 10 2013, 12:08 AM) Thanks acbc. Is this common with our Triton? Warranty covers? My Truck is just about touching 10k km. this is worrying man? Anything can be done under warranty period? Symptoms will appear earlier with piggy backs. Warranty will cover SCV replacement provided MM don't catch u first. If they found piggy backs, warranty is void. Replacement will cost RM 800 up. Pretty common with Triton and Pajero Sports.Installed Vector, used for about 2k km. feeling the power diff, had to take out for servicing. Will this cause the SCV to give way faster? Notice black smoke though, how do I reduce this? Lower setting? |

In my case I disconnected the EGR (already kaput). The current SCV is still on hiccup - losing power on acceleration and engine dying on idling.
Haven't got the time to replace the stock SCV with Isuzu one yet. |
