gkl83 i have a question.

if my router connects to 3 pc with ethernet cable, this means I have to purchase 3 x SLAN1236 and 4 x SF9512DSL? or is there any other alternative?

Current Setup:
power source ---> router in hall ---> PC in room 1, room 2, room 3 (all with phones)

CODE

CAL-LAB #1: power source ---> 1x SF9512DSL + router in hall + 3 x SLAN1236 ---> PC in room 1, room 2, room 3 + 3x SF9512DSL
Total: 4 x SF9512DSl + 3 x  SLAN1236

=================================================================

CAL-LAB #2:
power supply + telephone line --->  1 x SF9512DSL ---> splitter ---> 3 phones in 3 rooms
power supply + telephone line --->  1 x SF9512DSL ---> router  ---> 3 pc in 3 rooms
PC in room 1,2,3 + 3 x MDSC0039
TOTAL: 3 x MDSC0039 + 1 x SF9512DSL

Are there any ways to cut down the cost?
*
how there have 3x separated telephone in each rooms?
Possible to draft a simple diagram instead for better understanding on your wiring connectivity?

Dear Mr. Gan,
I have great interest to buy either the SF 9512DSL or the SF9812DSL, as the 9812dsl is equipped with the SKPX module, I wonder if the module is user replaceable?
It so, I like to get one unit of SF9812DSL with 2 addtional modules.
Kindly pm your best price with Poslaju charges to JB.
Than you.
*
yes, SKPXDSL is replaceable on SF9812DSL...

If all the stated equipments located side by side without other LAN cables to other PC at other room,
You can use MDSC0039 + SP9201DAF

you may consider to use MDSC0039FC if TV not connected with Aerial antenna.
Hence you can use 2x MDSC0039 for another 2x power socket

the green cable is to connect other non-powered cal-lab module such as tel cable, lan cable, coaxial cable, etc.

SL-AR maximum up to 5Amp only.... you can restore it @ RM25 by Cal-Lab service center...
Or else you can consider NILI series which can support up to 10amp but it dont have Auto Reset functionality...

I am thinking of getting the SF9512DSL or the SF9812DSL. Cal Lab's website said they are meant for low-speed ADSL. Do they support Streamyx 4Mbps? How significant is loss of data quality or speed?

I just tried my friend's callab SFTV9622FC. Does it work as good as the SF9512DSL or SF9821DSL? Does it have the same SKPXDSL for phone line protection? Is it wrong not to use the -DSL series?

my setup is like this:
phone plug on wall --- SFTV9622FC --- streamyx modem router --- (lan cable) --- desktop

What's the advantage of SF9821DSL over SF9512DSL? If the cal-lab got damaged by lightning strike, do I have to send the whole unit to hq? problem is I'm from sarawak... so paying for 2-way shipping is gonna cost a lot.

SFTV9622FC tel module only designed for analog telephone and fax machine, the stability & protection level to ADSL modem are not guarantee.
DSL version are optimized for ADSL connectivity & protection
9812 have the SKPXDSL module which replaceable tel module compare to 9512
if 9512 tel module damaged, you have to send whole unit to HQ for restoration

This is all the details for my ADSL Stats. It also depends on line quality, simplest way is to compare the Stats without Cal-lab with Stats with Cal-lab installed.
