35/1.4 focus quite fast in your hand? or it is a manual focus? dancing pic not a prob at all

i would say 23mm offered by x100s is much more versatile IMO... it can be classed as an wide angle lens, suitable for lenscape...
take a quote from mumeichan: at the end, it is still a tool to help you to shoot photo... it will help u to shoot and frame your pic, at the end... u still need to experience it by yrself and you will know which one suits yr needs

still in dilemmma whether to get the 18-55mm lens... hahaha

to be honest, the 18-55 with new linear motor is not slow at all compare to other primes by Fuji...

maybe you are pro in manual focus... today i did tried on the 18-55 and the AF is noticeably much faster than the 35mm prime... i'm still in dilemma whether to get this onot as next weekend i'm going to my trip ad... currently i just have the 35mm... my main concern is probably it is not wide enough for me to shoot scenery, buildings and most importantly... Micky and Minnie... haih haih... so headache

i wont sell the 35 as i love this lens... is just that 18-55 give me more versatility in travel as some circumstances doesn't really allow to change lens...

speaking of slow 18-55... ya i do notice it slow down by a lil bit when it is in low light or artificial light... or the focal length is at 55... other than that, still consider ok for me Fuji lens with the hefty price tag is my main consideration... and i'm afraid that this lens will be sitting in the dry box after my trip... i prefer prime to be honest, more fun...

somehow i do partially agree on what you saying... IQ is fantastic... about the wheel that u snap, i think it has been post processed d right?

in terms of keeping rate, x100s should be much better than the xe1 and xpro1... however, if u did snap photo with some good old days range finder, these camera should be more than sufficient... in the whole x-series, i would said x20 is the only entry level, other models above x20 is consider intermediate range as it consist of mostly manual control... (ohya, fuji intend to do this and this is their aim...)

until now, still no solid rumours about successor of xpro1 and xe1... and bro s7ran9er did shared a link about upcoming firmware upgrade through out all xf lens performance improvement... we shall see how... 18-55 OIS really rock at low light condition and increase my keeping rate... applicable to static and slow movement object only

i've decided to save the money not to buy 18-55 at the moment... using it with the XE1 first... maybe next time buy the lens together with another body !

The price is cheap but it ain't local set..
So bear in mind about the warranty issue ...

I am now done with my trip... Overally I am happy with the 35mm but just not really suit for landscape... Besides that, I now waiting till my next trip and hold the horse for the 18-55... I seriously wish to have a decent pancake zoom or might just get the x100s (or its successor).. 18-55 really bit heavy n lengthy when it hang around my neck...

after all, it makes me no regret at all to get in Fuji X-system...

next trip gonna obtained a 18-55.. but yet to see more review on the new XC16-50mm (24-76mm) f/3.5-5.6 OIS... hmm hmm.. dilemma although it is not much smaller

latest firmware release for XE1 and XPRO1...

the focus peaking is darn accurate

recording movies i not sure... but i read somewhere there will be another firmware roll out by not so soon... heard is added different colour for peaking features...

oh yea... 23mm F1.4... the one i waiting for...
