anyone here bring their own bcd everytime go dive?
how about jacket type vs back inflation type BCD?
search on internet many diver prefer back inflation. but i found that this type of bcd will force me face-down.. hard/impossible to stay vertical while floating.. or i just still not used to it?
*
I bring complete set with my heavy camera equipment wherever I go. As for back inflation or wing type, you just can't fully inflate to prevent your face down. I would say, half inflate should be enough. Experienced more and you will be better using back inflation type. I am using wing type with backplate.

Edit : If you can't control yet now, lay down on your back.

Ms Lee are person in charge (owner) at D`ayumni Chalet ,room rates around RM100 to RM150 per night..you see the photo by click into the website. Hope its will you. smile.gif

http://www.pulauperhentian.org/DAyumniChalet.html

Most of rooms are garden view category ,just 1 minutes to beach and opposite Universal Diver and Seahorse Diver . 1 minutes walking distance to Newcocohuts Chalet. Bad think only the sound from generator and no sea view rooms sad.gif

Good to hear that... back in 2009/2010 it was a tough time for her.

Ayumni is kinda like a basic place, definitely not a resort living condition. Electricity is limited to night time only.
For me i treat it like a place for me to sleep since i'm out most of time and lepaking at Seahorse.

Guys what is the rate to dive at redang?

diver's den saying 260 for extra day and 2 dives only.. i thought it was 3 dives. feel kinda expensive and not worth to stay another day.. if i extend room for another day but go other dive center for 3 dives maybe more worth it..

I am signing off from Perhentian Kecil today and back to the hectic real life.

6D5N at Sharila Resort Coral Bay. Wanted to stay at dorm but was full thus opted for the budget room, RM50/day with AC, wall fan and attached bath. 2 single beds which r abit soft to my liking, a table, no door cabinet and 2 mirrors. Cold shower and water pressure s weak during usual shower time. AC s damn cold... Anyhow, RM50 is a valuable price.

Life for the first few days were funny, diving, restaurant, beach... basically everywhere were mostly mat salleh hahahaaa

9 dives over the trip. Temple of Sea (Tokong laut) * 2, Sugar Wreck * 2, T3 * 2, Sea Bell, Sail Rock and Outer Reef.

I dove with Quiver which s just next to Sharila or at the end of the jetty. Wet suits have new and used, most bcd are new Mares, regulators are in good condition. Tanks with clean compressed air that are always filled up to 200-220 bar.

They have 3 boats, the one that I always boarded is equip with 200hp.

Overall, I had a relax diving trip. Slept twice on the beach. Met many new frens at the restaurant or dive centre.

Looking forward to LYT May trip to Perhentian Besar!

** Lesson, I might not be a hardcore diver. Prefer more relax kinda diving environment.

i bring my bcd everytime i go for diving. I have back inflation and jacket type too... dont think i experience any problem floating on the surface when using back inflation, maybe you are not used to it.

QUOTE(DrBarbarian @ Mar 21 2013, 04:23 PM)
yeah... dun like back inflation..... especially if you are at the surface.....
*
back inflation good for photography, its just a myth on the surface...

QUOTE(b5n111 @ Mar 21 2013, 11:46 PM)
Agree. My buddy for past few days r using back inflation... He s doing good, can stay head up legs down. He uses that for past 5 years thou. smile.gif
*
for back inflation, if you dont fully inflate then you can stay head up and legs down

QUOTE(pakutekan @ Mar 22 2013, 06:45 AM)
i asked abt the bcd because i plan to buy 1.. hard to find bcd for my size at dive center.. too small.. hehee..
nevermind la.. saving until mide and got time to do more research.. tongue.gif
*
btw, i wonder how small size you are... hmm.gif even i also manage to get a wetsuit & BCD that fit me well. Don't think you will be smaller size than me..

Finished Module 1 only. Kinda boring since i read through the book and watched the cd and in the class repeat the same things.

But in pool learn a lot like y need comfortable + suitable fins.. why ppl go for open fins although i never try b4 but i think wont be as painful as full foot.. haha..
Than regulator breathing is different and opening eye in water doesnt mean u still can see.. lol!

lets see what I learn next week..
