QUOTE(pakutekan @ Mar 21 2013, 12:58 PM) anyone here bring their own bcd everytime go dive? I bring complete set with my heavy camera equipment wherever I go. As for back inflation or wing type, you just can't fully inflate to prevent your face down. I would say, half inflate should be enough. Experienced more and you will be better using back inflation type. I am using wing type with backplate.how about jacket type vs back inflation type BCD? search on internet many diver prefer back inflation. but i found that this type of bcd will force me face-down.. hard/impossible to stay vertical while floating.. or i just still not used to it? Edit : If you can't control yet now, lay down on your back. This post has been edited by Putraskyline: Mar 22 2013, 10:32 AM |

QUOTE(wKkaY @ May 8 2013, 11:15 PM) I took it with Mrs wKkaY at Kon-Tiki in Krabi, and our instructor was Felicia. We did our confined dive in a random swimming pool, and the open water dives around the Phi Phi islands. Wow certified at one of very organized dive operator on my list. Expensive but worth it. Do you took any fun dives packages after that? Anyway, congrats My best moments were 1) seeing the reefs, 2) seeing large schools of fish... and turtles, 3) feeling myself improve with every dive. I'm happy with the very professional service we got, and I feel that the PADI OWC syllabus is well-structured with a challenging learning curve. The e-learning modules upsell PADI courses and scuba gear a loooot though. This post has been edited by Putraskyline: May 9 2013, 11:02 AM |

QUOTE(wKkaY @ May 9 2013, 12:27 PM) No, we only had a day to spare between our course dive and our flight, so we went kayaking instead in the mangroves. My body is really battered now I guess your luck and timing are perfect for you to finish off your OW in Phi Phi instead of local island, is it? I have dive with them 3 years continuously and from what I see OW certified course would go Ao Nang instead of boarding their big boat. |

QUOTE(wKkaY @ May 9 2013, 02:54 PM) Haha really, I didn't know that. Yeah we were on the big boat (Champlee 10 or something like that) on both days. There was also a video guy on board on the first day so we got a few seconds of footage of ourselves doing our first dives The video guy rocks!! End up I am always bought a DVD from him each year. The boat name is Petchamanee 10. On my last visit, I have complaint about quality of food provided which to me dropping a lot from previous year. How do you find your food on board the big boat? This post has been edited by Putraskyline: May 9 2013, 03:06 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ May 29 2013, 01:02 AM) Yea, I'm quite happy with Seahorse. Their dive center also nearer to the sea. Munkeyflo,Their boats not so nice as universal's but it was a good experience. We didn't go with universal was mainly because they were asking for RM150 deposit per person to confirm diving with them during this peak season. Figured they have to handle big groups of divers also so decided to go with the other dive center. And we all had lots of fun with Seahorse. Who are you talking to when you made an inquiry? |

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ May 29 2013, 02:14 PM) Samurai actually helped arrange for us first, until he told us Universal was asking for deposit of RM150 per person. Then only we contacted Universal directly. Juniorkirk contacted Universal so I don't exactly know the details. Thank you for the feedback. Its strange because UD full of fun people. At the same time, we were also looking for other dive centers around and found Seahorse to be quite flexible and accommodating. |

QUOTE(juniorkirk @ May 29 2013, 03:52 PM) I contacted Charlotte, she ask me to contact samurai, so its like merry-go-round case. And she didn't even bother to reply my email/question after that. Then when we contact samurai. He only replied after a few days saying that Charlotte went overseas, have to wait for her to come back only he could ask her and she could only answer. So for every question we ask, we need to go thru a middle man. You contact Charlotte by phone or email at the first place? So if that is the case, why not let us, the divers deal with them directly. After all, we have agree that we only arrange our dive our self. We don't mind about paying RM 150 for deposit even its quite a lot. What if one of the diver would only want to do 1 dive?... But the problem is after we pay the deposit, they only can guarantee us 4 dives, additional dive subjects to availability of DM and boat and others. Due to peak season... If they are professional, they should at least reply my email or clarify on this issue. Otherwise we will still think that they not interested of doing our business. Yeah... Hopefully they will still clarify this issue so we will change our bad impression towards them... |

QUOTE(Pandaman @ Jun 3 2013, 03:21 PM) hello there sifu2 otai2 divers LYN!!! D coconut dive center are small and very personalized. They have not more than 10 set of equipment if I calculate it right. Not a good brand though and some of the equipment are mixed brand. They are using cap ayam brand fin which colored something green and orange fluorescent. My experience is waaay back in 2011. Boat have no bumbung and back roll entry. You have to climb the boat, given that there is no ladder i just got my diving license like a month ago, did it at turtle bay divers perhentian. (my DM is joe) and i will go for another diving trip in two weeks time. Anyone here has any experience diving in lang tengah? any experience with the dcoconut dive operator? Mind to share? Thanks My rating : 5/10 |
