Do you mean a "dive computer" watch, or a watch that can go deep underwater?

For Discover scuba normally is less than 10 meters. PADI standard is minimum 24 hours. That is for safety reason.  If you have a dive computer. It will show the exact "No Flying" time depending on your dives.
*
12 hours if single dive, and 18 hours if multiple dives... the OW syllabus is still fresh in my mind tongue.gif

hi guys,im gonna take my open water licence this coming july 2013 at perhentian. Is gonna be a 4 days 3 night diving course but the diver shop that we enroll is insisting we must stay at least 18 hour before returning which means an extra night stay,is it because to avoid decompression sickness since we are flying to the location?
*
Are you flying back from the location?

Minimum 12 hours should be ok.
*
PADI & DAN drew their conclusions from the scientific study they did. When you look at their results, you will see why they chose 12h/18h as the cut-off times.

I am wearing glasses, erm...do i need to buy a prescription mask or can i just wear a contact lens inside?
*
I normally wear glasses. I bought daily disposable contact lenses and they were alright. I suggest bringing some eyedrops though. One of my contact lenses dried up, and when I jumped into the water it peeled off laugh.gif

I would definitely consider a prescription mask though. I think it will keep my eyes more comfortable throughout the day. Daily contact lenses aren't made of the best material after all.
