BTW this game is now super playable thanks to proxy. The animation locks or ping tax as they put it, has been completely eliminated. So all animations can be remapped to client side. Your latency still exists of course, but the disparity for rotations between high and low latency players is now gone.

IGN Sehr. I don't run battleping or WTFast anymore since the advent of proxy. It's just superior in every way.

If we're going to discuss proxy however, do it off-servers as GMs may flag any word containing relatable terms.

For those who are interested to play Tera from Malaysia, do note that Tera NA has unblocked Malaysia from the list of blocked IP/countries. On EU, your latency is lower (about 50-80ms difference) compared to NA, but EU has since disallowed accounts from being made from Malaysia (among other regions too). So the only way to get into EU is to make an account tunnelled to other countries and then you can log in as per usual.

How are you unable to connect to server lah? Did you try the official EU website? Did you play on NA or EU? Make sure you actually downloaded TERA for the correct region. If you can login into the official sites, chances are you can log into the game.

You don't have to port forward, although TERA does indeed use 10001. Check and see if you can login to their official sites.

Try this.

Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and open the hosts file with notepad. Remove any lines that don't start with #.

Then save, and try again.

These are hostnames running on your PC mapped to you. I suggest resetting the hosts file. Remove all the lines that don't start with a #, and save as on your desktop. Rename the original host file to something like hosts.old or hosts.backup then put the one you just made into the same folder.

Last thing I'd try is to redownload a fresh copy of Tera or launch tera via Steam. of course, changing IP would also help, helps me with network issues most of the time. Cheers mate!

Well, no because of different publishers. You'll not be able to make a character on EU from Malaysia. Tunnel through via a VPN (free one will do) and make an account anywhere from NA or EU. Then, you can disable VPN and log into the game as normal.

Tbh, there aren't many Malaysians left. There are several SG players, very dedicated.

I no longer play with VPNs or tunnel programs. I used to run Battleping and WTFast in the old days. With Proxy however, the game got a lot better. Like 90% better. Who am I kidding? It's 99% better. If you want to hop on this, Google Meishuu Tera Proxy and figure the rest out on your own, as proxy is now flagged as a grey area in Tera official servers.

And don't mention anything regarding proxy, not in guild chats or whispers, as they may be auto-flagged for manual review by GMs.

Well, you didn't get it to work because you need modules. You didn't install it properly. This clever program simulates skills and actions client-side, so my ping is actually 12ms-24ms (even lower than those living close to Karlsruhe) with TP and SP (the module).
