i am on 500Mbps plan as well after Turbo...

however after i setup my ac86u router and connect it with cat7 to ONU/BTU, set 5Ghz to 80Mhz, testing wifi speed on iphone 7+ (1 ft away from router) only can achieve the most 300Mbps...

can advice on how i can improve it ?
*
Looks like iPhone limitation. Most phones can only do 300-400Mbps max no matter how good your router/AP is.

the funny thing is

before i changed the cable to cat7, i was actually using cat5e cable and didn't change 5Ghz setting to 80Mhz, but when i tested it with same iphone 7+ it gave me close to 500Mbps speed on 5Ghz wifi

Can try test using cable from router to PC to verify. WiFi is unreliable. I ever speedtest on WiFi with phone and even without changing anything the speed can be sometimes up to 430Mbps but sometimes only 250-300Mbps.

Got mine upgraded to 800Mbps late last night in Sarawak.
No SMS and e-mail, found out from account info at unifi portal / unifi care app and restarted ONU and router.

which box do you actually count the port whether 8 or 16?
*
Cannot count the ports unless you have seen the inside of the white box on the TM posts when the staff open it.

But only 8 cables connected to main cable so this one only can support 8 subscribers so 8 ports.

Thanks for the photos. I just found out that the optical splitter is in this white box. I never seen the back part in detail before this.

How to see which one is the main cable?
That means the rest of 10 ports cannot do anything?
*
You can see main big cable enter bottom of box then only one fibre from there is used. The other fibres continue exit the box on the main cable and loop to the next box. The one that is used is spliced to the yellow fibre which then goes to the 1:8 splitter and become 8 yellow fibres with plugs. These plugs are then connected to 8 of the 18 connectors. In this box there is no subscriber connected yet. The subscriber lines will be black wire and plugged to the other side of the connector to connect to the yellow fibres. So the other 10 are just empty connectors with nothing connected on the ports on both sides so is useless. That's why usually one box only can support 8 subscribers then TM say no more port. If want support more they need add more fibre cables and redistribute.

Also since one fibre is split to at least 8 subscribers or even more (the box on the roadside may have splitters too), each subscriber cannot get the full 2.48832 Gbps download and 1.24416 Gbps upload of the fibre capacity. So a box that has full 8 subscribers and all downloading at same time will likely not reach subscribed speeds if all subscribe over 100Mbps. Can read on Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) for more info.

Your speed looks very slow compared to mine. Look at my post above yours. Maybe try test with different server? Don't know if TM is giving lower International bandwidth priority to 100Mbps users or not.

Hey hey people, is anyone having slow upload speed in Kota Kinabalu Sabah now?

Don't use that Celcom server. It is probably slow like Celcom Kuching server.

If you're using Unifi 300Mbps, your speeds are correct according to the table here: https://www.lowyat.net/2018/168749/make-the...-turbo-upgrade/

The most optimal package for pricing and satisfaction would be the 300M which is the next closest package with speed tests conducted to USA and Europe.
Always take the best speed you can get from USA and Europe then choose the closest package that matches them. In your case 300M is the right choice for you.

Don't bother about local speedtests. You'll sure get FULL or close to your subscribe speed. USA and Europe speeds that matter most.

I'll keep the 800Mbps since I can get 600Mbps (>50MB/s) on many downloads. The 300Mbps isn't much cheaper than what I'm paying now anyway.

Based on these two tests it looks like the connection to US is capable of reaching 500Mbps down and 100Mbps up.

How come you have 3Mbps on one test and 100Mbps upstream on the other?
*
The first one is Comcast server and network in US via IPv6 and the second one is Google server and network in US via IPv4. Why do both give different download and upload results? I don't know... Same country but different network, server and probably routing. But what can be seen is that the connection from Sarawak -- KL -- US has the potential to reach 500down/100up Mbps while from Sarawak -- KL -- East Asia can reach over 700Mbps downstream.

Edit: a TM user in the same city as me can get 90~100Mbps to US on 100Mbps plan. So the possible explanation of Sarawak or 100Mbps users being limited in bandwidth internationally as a reason for not reaching subscribed speeds is invalid.
