Came back to Singapore on 2009, also holding WP. Within 2009 till Nov 2012, total change 4 job and all holding WP.
I am wondering about my chances for getting PR because of my poor record on the job hop part and also my qualifications.

My fiancee on EP, applied in mid-January until now still pending, degree from Aussie uni. In any case I don't see what's stopping you from applying since it's a nominal loss if you get rejected.

Do I have to wait for 6 months to reapply PR if I got rejected the first time or I can simply submit again within a month?

I thought your PR rejection letter will say something like "you are invited to apply again after XYZ months/years/whatever?"

My view is that if you got rejected last month, nothing's stopping you from re-applying immediately, but has anything in your application changed materially that you think you might get approved a month later?

Well, because I have not received the letter yet. Just applied yesterday.

My colleague got rejected and the letter did not say how long he should wait before reapply again. No reason no period. Just a letter saying rejected.

So I am curious if I could just ignore the period stated and go ahead to reapply.

Eh, you talking about you or your colleague? hmm.gif

the letter belongs to my colleague. i am just making plans for situations that might happen on me too. also, if they state to wait a year?

Like I mentioned earlier, nothing is stopping you from re-applying immediately instead of waiting for 6 months 1 year whatever. However, if there are no material developments that significantly change your application, i.e. you are applying with the same salary same job same marital status same education as your rejected application 1 month ago, why would your new application be approved now?

However the OS is not Genuine

If this is what you're worried about, I've never heard of SG customs stopping people and checking to see if all their software is genuine.

Computers and parts in SG are generally more expensive than in Malaysia cos of 7% GST.

Just want to ask ar, If I'm going into singapore with a msian car, but I dont have the ERP machine, ony got autopass card, do I pay the ERP charges when I get out? And what is this 10 free day thing

Yes. When you go into SG you need to put the Autopass card into that slot (at SG immigration). When you go out, you will also put the Autopass card in the SG immigration place slot, then it will calculate all your ERP charges (flat $5 a day) and VEP charges ($20 per weekday, but each car gets first 10 days per year free).

yea. very nice indeed.

It's possible your company underpays you, and/or has intentionally depressed your wages because you are a foreigner. Then you process resumes and organize interviews and notice a pattern of your company lowballing freshies and those with minimal job experience. Now here's your problem - based on this limited data set, you've extrapolated and assumed that your observations hold true for the rest of Singapore as well.

In a crude marketing analogy, you have a product for which all the surveys, focus groups, etc was done in an old folks home, you built your product's features around those surveys/focus groups, and launched it to the general public. Would you be surprised if the general public then panned your product?

Similarly the 'general public' in this thread is hostile because you're sprouting advice, facts and figures as if they are from the MOM itself; whereas many other people who've worked here much longer feel otherwise.

Just FYI, there are quite a bunch of elites here, MacKiddo, Fiona Chin, seantang, keelim, these four off the back of my head are young execs pulling in huge figures that dwarf your "2.5k for 4 years experience" claims.

Results-wise, seems to be in line with my expectations of BN retaining Putrajaya but with reduced number of parliamentary seats. As of now PR has gained (net) 15 seats from BN, of course counting hasn't been completed. PR still isn't strong enough to overcome the gerrymandering and BN's advantage in and the interiors of Sarawak and Sabah.

Having said that, was flabbergasted that BN would to stoop to such blatant cheating. I'm sure your FB feed is flooded with that too, no need to elucidate.

Flight back to Changi was OK but there was a 45 minute queue for taxi at T2 doh.gif ... and the taxi driver was eagerly asking me whether Anwar, LKS and Nurul Izzah won their seats, lol.

G'nite all, Malaysia obviously tak Boleh, gonna suckle my blue finger to sleep and hope that the EC's claims that it is non-toxic are true.

Najib had sworn as Prime Minister already. Hopefully opposition still can pull out something, i still love my country even after GE13

QUOTE(hokin @ May 7 2013, 09:21 AM)
Anwar said he will address the nation tomorrow.

Score was 133-89, so Opposition would need to overturn results for twenty two seats to tie with BN. Sorry to douse your enthusiasm, but let's get realistic - the margin of BN's win is comfortable enough to withstand any limited legal challenges or appeals. Time to take solace in the gains that PR has made and look forward to 2017/2018.

Most of us here in SG oso won't go back home that frequently lor. My in laws place in JB also we only visit once every 2-3 months. Among all my singapore acquaintances I only know of one elite banker who can afford to fly back to KK almost every single weekend.

You guys planning to protest and rally in Singapore, do keep yourself safe and remember that it is actually against SG laws. And that the locals don't exactly think very highly of it.

SINGAPORE: Five Malaysians are now assisting police in their investigations following an illegal outdoor protest on Wednesday night at Merlion Park.

Police said the individuals are believed to have organised the illegal outdoor protest.

Police said they received a call at about 9.50pm on Wednesday night about a group of people that had gathered to stage the illegal protest. About 100 people had gathered illegally in the park with placards and other paraphernalia.

The police advised the group that such an activity is illegal in Singapore. The group subsequently dispersed peacefully.

Police would like to remind the public that conducting an outdoor protest without a police permit is illegal in Singapore, and stressed that while foreigners -- including Malaysians -- are allowed to work or live here, they have to abide by the laws here.

Foreigners should not import issues from their own countries into Singapore, which can disturb public order as there can be groups with opposing views.

Police warned that authorities will act firmly, adding that those who break the laws will face action, which could include termination of their visa or work passes.

Same with my 12GB iPhone voice+data plan. Won't re-contract when the contract expires.

Do you even use that much though? I recontracted my 12gb to 4gb the other day after reviewing my monthly data usage which never exceeded 2gb a month.

I am going to Malaysia from SG soon. Now I am thinking a way to transfer all my accumulated stuff from Sg to Malaysia.
Anyone who has experiences on this matter? Call for transport/logistic? Any contact for this?
Thanks!

The company engaged Crown Relocations to move my stuff. They went to my KL house, packed everything, shipped it (well, by van actually) to SG and put it in their storage for over a month while I sorted out my accommodation here. And then unpacked everything in my new place. No idea how much it cost though.

Hero for sacrificing for the country or not wise for participating that is up to your own view. Most of us here went back for voting, not wise for wasting money? I think otherwise.

3rd Option: Stupid, plain and simple. Spending money to go back and vote has a real, quantifiable goal - one extra vote for whichever candidate/party you support. Getting your work pass revoked for taking part in a pointless rally that achieves nothing despite already being warned by SPF that it is illegal according to the laws of the land - stupid.
