er.. 2 years more to go to get a degree?
coz i gonna enrol to any uni with my diploma to continue the degree program.. jz wanna get my degree fast and quit studying.. sick of studying ( student tends to wanna experience working and working ppl r dying to come back to school, i know that ). with my diploma, there r not many choices to choose from.

self preferences, UK degree is better ( i always pro-UK ) coz short time compared to australian degree which takes another extra year to complete. last but not least, my mum keep hearing from those aunties ( aarghh.. u know them.. like to compare their sons when gossipping ) that nottingham has good reputation. my bro is there too for this reason.. mayb nottingham's marketing is good enough.. hehe

Then saw the STAR showing nottingham new campus in semenyih... and from the paper the view is nice... Attracted++ drool.gif
Later on apply scholarship saw nottingham...
And this is what happens...  laugh.gif

parents factor... not really though.. my parents still asking me about monash.. but heck, monash gonna takes me 1 extra year + IELTS + high cost of living.. anothe english paper is a turn-off for me already laugh.gif

totally agree with the way u spend the scholarship.. my friend jz use it to study at tarc.. can u imagine? aint his hard-earned scholarship is under-value? wasted.. doh.gif

now the only thing troubles me is the lifestyle there, accomodation, food, transport and so on.. any rough guide?a rough figure?
wanna know about cost of living, rent for a single room(try not to live in hostel), distance from school, food availability and so on..

Lifestyle - 3
  • Play around
Sleeping time
  • Sleep after ten till 2am
Accomodation
-prefer 1 single small room, live alone
-if sharing, that room better have place for 2 and the roommate cant be a sucker. i hate stupid roommate with lots of problems such as BO, noisy, bring friends to kkcc and noisy kinda ppl..

Food
-doesnt matter of food, i'm not so picky.. but i hope i still can accept the worst condition there.. is there such posibilities? laugh.gif

Transport
-Got bus to KTM, currently they're planning to have buses to KL. thumbup.gif
-i heard it takes rm15 for calling a cab from campus to ktm? is it true?

distance from school
TTS5 - walking distance - sounds good to me. how about rental?
TTS2/4 - 15 min walk - also good, but i heard the rental at this area is cheaper(200 per room for single room, refer to a few posts before). if so, i think i can compromise with the distance for more privacy and comfort.
In campus - 5 min walk to class.- try to avoid living in hostel and monotaneuos life. my last choice.

UNiM FTW~* Middle of the forest, no entertainment... dry.gif
- er.. i hope i can cope with this.. however, i do enjoy listening to music at every silent night. i heard nottingham is a good place tongue.gif

Imagine this is with scholarship... What if those without it?( i'm the 1 here icon_question.gif )
-money money money again..
-will try to be stingy in everything laugh.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif
-have to be there to figure this out

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
in conclusion, not sure if my parents can handle so much expanses.. cry.gif

really? wow.. i went to ptptn's website and cliced on 'semakan', followed by 'semakan kursus'. then click according to the state and uni until i reach Nottingham.

but it's not stated there 'civil eng'. so i thought it's not allowed. the websites a bit confusing. furthermore it's in bm and the terms used there are rather weird. so i sometimes don't know what the helll tthe site is saying.

so is ALL courses and programmes at Nottingham Malaysia allowed to apply for ptptn?
*
i dunno about civil, mayb it's still new
however, the staff there told me that we can loan from ptptn
better check 1st.. i'm not too sure too

I just get my diploma in civil engineering from polytechnic, and thinking to further my MEng course in University of Nottingham, but the tuition fee is slightly higher for me, anyone here found any financial assistant that linked with this University? Your kindly effort will be appreciated, thanks. wink.gif

1st and foremost, do u gain acceptance in UNIM? has u been offered a place there?
this is because ur case is special, u;re doing credits transfer if u were going to get ur degee at UNIM. u need to show them ur syllabus tp them and see if u can be exempted for certain subjects. it is also based on ur results back at poly. i did this too and luckily i'm exempted into 2nd year of degree..

secondly, if u were going to do MEng, u have to make this decision at the end of year 2 degree. if u didnt choose it by that time, u cant come back to top up for 1 year after u get ur BEng. this is there is a little difference in the syllabus between MEng(4 years) and BEng(3 years)
