oh ya what you guys use for paint chip (my hood's so full of them lol) correction/hiding/cover ups?

those correction pens or something (lol what was the name again, i think i saw it at ACE/Jusco)
*
correction pens are only for clear coat fixes. ehehe.. for stone chips you probably need touch up paint like (exy touch up). there is a high possibility that the touch ups are noticeable. best is to respray and buy a clear bra smile.gif be-warned.. its not cheap.. biggrin.gif

my hood was just resprayed (after the genting accident) just few months ago lol
so not keen on getting it resprayed again

i don't mind it being noticeable, it'll still beat that black bare metal patch on my current hood
*
you can try this then:
http://www.ezytouchup.com/

but take note, i was told that it won't fill up the chip completely. you also need steady hands biggrin.gif good luck..

What other alternative for Meg Hyperdressing? It looks like Hyperdressing is professional range item.
*
not sure what is the alternative for Hyperdressing, but for engine wash and shine, Megs do have OTC products for it:

can get it from 'you-know-who' as well.. tongue.gif

since i have M80 and M83 and scores of MF clothes

i would want to spend no more than 500 on tools + pads

is that remotely possible? anyone has a second hand Bosch they are willing to part with after upgrading to a full rotary?

or someone has old pads they want to sell off cheap?  icon_rolleyes.gif

product update: Meg's Wheel Brightener.

Finally had the chance to use this on my set of wheels last weekend. I used a dilution ration of 1:10 instead of the recommended 1:4. Imho, this is sufficient enough for me. Spraying with the WB itself is enough to remove most grime/dirt/brake dust. Tougher ones may need a 2nd pass with a bit of agitation with a brush. On the whole it works brilliantly. Thank you bro KrisMas for sharing his gallon with me.

PS: If you are sharing a gallon, do not store it in a Ribena bottle.. you have been warned.. biggrin.gif

*
bro.. let me know the results ya.. the pricing for both sonax item are pretty reasonable.. can consider if the performance is ok.

what if i apply 1 layer of ULW how long do i need to wait to apply UQW?
*
when i re-wax with ULW, i usually wait for the next day before topping up with UQW. but to be honest, even with ULW, its looks very shiny already tongue.gif. UQW i find adds more depth and has a darkening effect.

The key about ULW is to always ensure you apply a very very thin layer. Else you will get streaking issues. The UPW is more forgiving.

oh and just an update my ULW experience. i recently had the 'opportunity' to really test out the durability of ULW. I did not had the time to top on with my fav UQW for 2 weeks running due to lack of time. only a simple wash with NXT wash. I'm into the 3rd week now, in rain and shine. Water beading is still present, although deteriorated slightly at the lower panels and boot area. The shine is still there but the paint does not feel buttery smooth like after the first application. Already went through a couple of real heavy rain sessions. I just have to say that ULW is definitely able to last longer than i expected during the rainy season. I remember seeing someone post before that ULW does not make it past a week during rainy seasons, but i seem to be having a different experience. Anyhow, I'm not gonna allow another week to go by and not topping up with UQW. I rather not take that chance.. biggrin.gif

after reading through meguiars website and you guys' reply i will stick for 1 layer and apply UQW on next weekend when i wash the car. btw, where can we get sonax product locally? how you guys protect your headlamp? should i go for 3m headlamp tint or just normal wax it? can we wax headlamp using ULW? too much questions tongue.gif
*
i'm also using Meg's Headlamp protectant. According to the ppl in Megs, they work better on plastic surface as compared to wax/sealant. But you can use both ULW or UQW on the headlamps. no issues there. I used ULW previously before moving over to Headlamp Protectant. Something to note if you want to use this as well. Meg's advise is to clean the headlamps off any contaminants and wax/sealants before applying the Headlamp Protectant, so that it can bond better with the surface.

Hi guys, i saw this unpleasant effect on the paint reflection. FYI the paint is clean solid-white color.

The pix below shows blurry reflection, not sharp at all =( how to make it sharp? lol like glass =P

*
ahaha.. you have come to realize orange peel. Only way is to level the paint. bro krimas can help you with that.. biggrin.gif for me, i'm learning to live it it for the time being, until i have learned up the necessary skills to tackle it.

ohh.. finally had the chance to use my newly purchased Osren Synergized Wax. Read the review by WetShine and decided to get one myself. my 2 cents below:

1) Although its paste, when applied its consistency feels even softer than my ULW! i shit you not.. biggrin.gif a little goes a long way, and you only need a thin layer or else buffing off would be difficult.
2) due to its soft consistency, you need to be extremely careful when approaching the gaps in your panels as it will get into it.
3) again a little goes a long way, i wasnt really paying attention until i saw wax oozing out from the back of the pad onto my hands. cleaning the pad after that was a real PITA.
4) the gloss and shine was nice, about the same as my ULW (which is surprising, because i thought the natural wax would add more gloss, maybe i have cocked eyes.. biggrin.gif). On the other hand, i like the smooth surface it leaves behind.
5) water beading is definitely better than my ULW.
6) Durability wasnt really put to the test (yes i'm have OCD when it comes to paint protection), but after a wash with NXT Car Wash, the beading is still strong, while my ULW would deteriorate slightly, giving me the impression that it would last longer than the ULW. But do note the word 'impression' smile.gif its just my gut feel. do take it with a pinch of salt.

At 85 a tin, i would say its good value for money. for a top up wax, it definitely takes more effort to wax the car compared to my trusty UQW. Most probably will use this as a 2nd layer whenever i re-wax my whole car.

p/s any advise on how to clean an applicator pad that is caked with product?

I don't know about Synergized but the only stuff that I tried that can truly and easily remove any wax/sealant from an applicator (foam) is Dawn Power Dissolver. Maybe you can try soaking it in a warm mix of dish washing detergent. That's what I did before I found the DPD. Oh....don't soak it for too long ya...just an hour or two is enough already. Don't ask sweat.gif .
*
thanks for the tip. I tried soaking in a dish washing liquid mix but even after half a day, i still need to squeeze the wax out. real PITA. Dont really see DPD in hypermarts but i think i did see it in Ace. need to check it out. Just curious what would happen if i soak longer than 2 hours? biggrin.gif
