schwalbe, those on them say great performance (very grippy yet rolls well) or kenda nevegal is a good choice... grippy but slow rolling.
the classic pick 2 out of 3, grippy, fast, durable. pick any 2. not very accurate but you get idea.

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Sep 30 2013, 09:53 AM) schwalbe, those on them say great performance (very grippy yet rolls well), but compromise on the durability. i love low pressure setup. how low pressure do you go? i used to run my nevegal/ larsen tt combo at 30/35 psi running tubes.

QUOTE(timothyy @ Oct 1 2013, 01:21 PM) U everytime say Kiara is either not rideable or dangerous... have you actually rode in Kiara? Tyres are meant to wear. If its wearing off... its doing its job! got! ride twice! haha once with my jamis hardtail, stem too long so handling not quick enough IMO. then 2nd time on Anthem shakedown ride with RK, better that time. havent been back since. i didnt say dangerous what, i say very technical only tyres are great! other bling is more expensive but i love a new set of rubbers!

QUOTE(mangkukbleu @ Oct 1 2013, 09:43 AM) PCC Specialized is coming. anyone joined before? hardtail can go? joined the 2010 edition start nottingham uni go broga and back. very severe that year, only finished 2 of 4 stages. too many people. 1200+ traffic jam for the first hour. even chicken run also very long after stage 2. stage 2 was really punishing. just park across the road at sunsuria. sale nothing to shout about unless you are looking for new bike. bike bits only a few like FSA cranks and some bars in the tent. 50% discount on 2011 stock for shoes gloves and helms. but most stock is 2012, so only 40%. long Q so did not bother buying a back up pair of BG gel gloves. plus you can only pay by credit if over rm100 purchases.

QUOTE(fiftyfitfy. @ Oct 4 2013, 01:38 PM) u all never boring ka using that tyre? i used it since 2008 sure there are some technological advancement now. if it aint broke why change it? just used it at the slim rive rfun ride and it handled the variable surfaces ranging from sand to hardpack to dusty fire trails and rocky gravel paths very well. from my experience it is knobby enough to handle the even worse conditions pcc will throw at you. if not nevegal then what? you are welcome to offer any suggestions. but since you asked, i humbly offered my opinion.

QUOTE(fiftyfitfy. @ Oct 4 2013, 01:52 PM) i think scwalbe nobby nic is almost same with nevegal but a bit lighter. rocket ron is more lighter but not sure reliable or not for broga since the sidewall to thin. if broga have many rocks then i should not use rocket ron. if got many slippery part maybe i should just use nobby nic both front and rear instead of just the front. how much are nobby nics?

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Oct 4 2013, 04:59 PM) u don't go tubeless? if go tubeless, is it safe to go below recommended minimum 30psi? the 30psi is to ensure bead seating safely or is it to prevent snakebite? can right? if not 30 psi got tube can also run. snakebite only happens with tubes lah.

"The high-volume Snakeskin carcass is supple enough to remove any wooden rattle on harder surfaces, and it moulds to the ground superbly if you drop pressures right down.
When rocks have allowed we’ve regularly run it below 20psi for ultimate filthy grip without burping or creeping, and at those pressures it’ll perform as well as even the best winter specialists." bikeradar review on Schwalbe Hans Dampf Evo Trailstar 2.3
