Got 4 stages... first stage was effin' hell... most riders didn't proceed to stage 2... after stage 2, everything was ok. I did it with a Giant Trance X, 140 fork, lowered to 100 (Talas). Don't know if now pakai 160 can onot sweat.gif

Stage 1 18km is a fast and flowing pure cross‐country route with very few technical sections. It could be considered an easy ‘warm up’

hmm.... they got u didn't they?

will take ur advice

Last time they printed out the elevation map at each check points. Have a look and try to study where you need to push/relax.

pcc 2010, stage 1 was easy then came stage 2 which was hell, recahed the end of it, they closed stage 3 checkpoint already then it was a long chichken run ride back to nottingham.
*
were there riders who had to quit any of the stages due to being held up by the jammed trail?

Yesterday hash #330 was nice  thumbup.gif There was >10km road ride and climbs were not too torturing. Anybody else went? The FRBs were darn fast! I wiped out once when I accidentally slipped into a mud puddle and bashed my brake lever. Luckily no problem as it just rotated out of place. Weather was hot but not too hot. Great job to the hares and super veterans like Eric Teo, Thomas. Would definitely go there again. Enjoyable.

Here my slow poke track log...

ikon @ muddy trail, ok or not?

nobby nic on muddy trail is awesome. but on dry sandy trail, feels draggy. at least compared to crossmark. and vice versa with crossmark.

hei, im new here, from penang. i haven have a bike yet. but i thinking to get one myself and build them up. i have technical base and tools, so build up shouldn't be a problem.
i'm more toward road cycling, but might train for climb mountain. (final target penang hill, maybe after 2 year lolz) haha.
i'm thinking to get a hard tail bike. what i want to ask is, is there any1 29er? xD. wondering to get 26 or 29 lolz.
*
what i feel best, u might not agree. and vice versa. either u try various wheel sizes, or read these:

http://www.mbaction.com/Main/News/26er-Ver...ng-Fo-4713.aspx
http://mbaction.com/Main/News/Shootout-Whe...vs-26-5159.aspx
http://www.pinkbike.com/news/26-vs-275-vs-29-Wheels.html

and u can draw ur own conclusion.

some manufacturers have moved their 26 models to recreational/sports segment. american classic has stopped producing 26 wheels

general question to those who have cycled hardtail as well as full suspension bikes. what does it feel like to cycle long distance with mixed terrain, climbs, etc on a full suspension trail bike (140mm travel, 66/67 deg head angle)? compared to hardtail.

get tired much quicker? harder to climb?

reason i'm asking is, age is catching up. i got a minor spine injury, n every bump can be felt. trail FS options are more than XC FS options. my normal mileage is between 30+ to 50+ km. so anybody got experience riding a FS trailbike on long distance ride?

Some of us in here use 160mm with 66 degree for long distance off-road ride. I think ok je. Maybe lock-out the rear shock if it gets too tiring. Or make it stiffer.
*
ic, tq for the advice. pump higher pressure to make it stiffer (less sag)?
