afaik, yes

Socketed Gems are supported by level 1 Multistrike, means you need to socket the active skill gem in the weapon itself to get it. I could be wrong tho.

eh.. then I'm not sure why the guide states that I should get 2 of these blades... maybe for the stun affix

every class is good, u just need to plan ahead and use the correct nodes for your build.
the skill tree is so big you can literally craft the way you want your character to be.

I basically just simply put anywhere i feel is good.
Is the passive tree point allocation a game breaking if put it wrongly?

I use daggers not sure if its good or should use claws.

Then I also heading to dagger specification between dagger trap or claws.

Blur but the game is fun

I took ice green gem that shoots projectile to many mobs.

This is my main skill for not idk if its good

Then im level 16

Follow a guide at the official forum or YouTube. You can try and have fun with your own char but initially following a build is recommended.

Do we need to reroll if we already allocated points anywhere or the system is flexible?

you will get limited refund points for the nodes, after using that up you will need to use orb of regret (item) to refund the points and allocate it elsewhere. The item is rather expensive but since its your first time playing im pretty sure you wont mind exploring now and rerolling a new character after learning the ropes.

Everyone screw up their early character in PoE.
So don't worry too much about it, as the learning curve of this game is pretty high, and you also need some luck with loots.

Basically which class you pick will depends on what skill builds you want to play.
But that doesn't mean a Marauder can't become a spell caster, it just not that optimized compared to example witch.
But since you're new, you're very likely don't know what skill to play just yet; that's why keep trying out new skill gems as you go until you find one that's fun to play constantly.
After you get to Act6, a NPC will be available that sells all the skill gems, except a few.
Before reaching there, you still have limited selection of skill gems from accessory vendors from each act, which availability depending on your class and quest unlock.
If a skill looks boring or slow by default, don't write it off just yet. "Support Gem" is where things really get serious, changing how the skill behave.

But in general, we want to clear (kill) as fast as possible.
Even a single target skill, can be augmented with support gem to become AoE or hit multiple targets.
Simple logic, the faster you kill, the more loot you have, the faster you level.
But don't neglect your defense & elemental resistance still... for starter it's recommend to play as "life" build.
If you came across some life passive nodes, grab them.
General item stats (mods) you looking for, life, multiple resistance, damage depending on your skill build - spell, elemental, physical, melee, etc.

In general we have these gem setups:
- main offensive skill links, usually fast clearing area damage
- secondary offensive skill links, for single target, in case main skill is weak for single target
- movement skill links, movement skills is important both for combat and traversing map
- defensive skill links, which include curses, aura, "cast when...." (usually use Cast when Damage Taken trigger gem which you get access end of Act 3)
- golem companion, if have free slots

Note that, words in PoE means VERY specific things.

On the topic of passive tree. You gain some reset point by doing the story quests, probably around 15-ish in total.
Beyond that, you need to start using Orb of Regret to gain additional reset points.
If you check the accessory merchant NPC, you should notice there are ways to exchange orbs (currencies) for other orbs.
For example 2 Scouring Orb -> 1 Regret Orb.

If you find a skill that feels fun to play, check out PoE forum class section for some guides.
Might want to stick to guides that don't use stupidly exotic stuff.

In a big picture,
- north is spell, curse, minion, energy shield...
- east is crit, chaos, evasion, bow, one hand...
- south is two hand, shield, melee...
- west is life, armor, melee...
- every class starts at specific position on the passive tree. Scion at the middle.

//---

Quick run down to how item stats (mods) works.
- magic (blue) item can have max 2 mods
- there are single mods that actually appear as two-lines, called hybrid
- rare (yellow) item can have max 6 mods, however, corruption can alter this rule
- in those 6 mods, 3 are suffix, 3 are prefix. Detailed listing here.
- mods are randomly crafted with various orbs, which is always gambling
- specific mods can also be crafted with Forsaken Master's crafting tool
- corrupted item is made with Vaal Orb, corrupted item cannot be further crafted, except changing socket colors.

//---

Also, use a loot filter. Can be configured under option > UI > scroll to bottom
Think of it as a CSS Style Sheet if you knew programming stuff; it styles the loot names, showing, hiding, changing color, apply sound effect on drop...
While there are plenty of publicly shared loot filter out there, I still thinks this is something personal.
After you get some understanding of the game, you might be able to make your own loot filter to suit your liking with a tool called Filtration.

Of course there's also player trading.
I give you a quick run down of how player trading works.

If anything else important I want to say...
- vendor (sell to NPC) RGB linked sockets for 1 Chromatic Orb
- levelling up refresh NPC merchant stock, go check for RGB links and 6 sockets
- vendor 6 sockets get 7 jeweler orb, you'll start to see this around act 3+, low level item have limited socket amount
- when fighting rare & unique monster, it's a good idea to what mods they have (written under their health bar), dangerous thing includes corrupted blood (bleeding), reflect, volatile blood
- have a flask that remove "bleeding", the degen will kill you very quickly. Visual cue : flying blood orb around your character
- Reduce Mana Reserve by 2% doesn't mean 25% -> 23%. It means 25/100x(100-2)=24.5 rounded up still 25...
- shoe/boots without movement speed is generally useless.
- vendor boot + quicksilver flask + Augment Orb = +5% movement speed. Eg: vendor a 10% boot gets 15%.
- press "x" to switch to secondary weapon sets, you can use these to level up additional gems. They get exp even not as active weapon.
- vendor item with combined 40 quality yield an orb to enhance quality, eg:
Flask with combined quality 40% = 1 Glassblower Bauble. Gem 40% combined = 1 Gemcutter Prism.
Don't bother do this for armor and weapon, really.

//---

The current league is Abyss, definitely recommend to play there.
A "league" is a 3 months long... "activity", with specific game-play mechanism.
Usually when a league ends there will be a short break before the next league.
League characters and items will move to "Standard" once ended.

Don't worry about the wall of text... just have fun playing & learning. laugh.gif

Range or melee character good? There's no clear cut answer to that really.
Anyone can use any skill, it just a matter of FAIL character build and SUCCESS character build.
Ice Shot (range bow) is super fun, but Explosive Arrow (range bow) is kinda meh...
Dual Strike (melee) is kinda boring looking, but Flicker Strike (melee) is super fun and fast...

The most important thing is, is the skill fun to play for you? That's why go try out a lot of them.
Once you find a skill that *clicks* with you well, then find a guide on POE forum to see how people build their character with that skill.
There are probably about... 150+ different skills in the game? Just guessing. About 40~60 from each category (red, green, blue).

If it's too confusing, then just focus in 1 type of weapon you personally like the most.
Likes to wield two-hand swords? Then stick to skills that uses that weapon.

I don't generally plays melee. Although recent update does makes melee a lot more fun (Ancestral Call Support Gem).
But there's definitely one melee skill that I really love (but have several down sides). Something that cause brain seizure... Video sample.
Flicker Strike have 2 second cooldown, how do we get around it? That's why we "build" our character according to the skill you play.

If you came in here expect this game to have the same carbon copy linear character & skill system like 99.9% of other games out there, sorry that's not the case.
The passive tree, is an influence from the classic Final Fantasy X's Sphere Grid for sure.

And even the guide is not set on stone, you can still tailor it out to your own playstyle.
Its all about having fun doing it. And dont neglect those life nodes and resist stats, once you start part 2 (act 6 and above) mobs start to hit harder.

Failed to connect to instances.

Recently the server in se7en cyber cafe at Subang Bestari went down and then somehow I realized the delay and problem in establishing connection to steam path of exile.

Can someone please tell me what is the problem and like what should I say to them?
Because the other games work just fine.
I doubt they would understand

Are you connecting to POE Singapore Gateway?

If it's the issue of cyber cafe internet traffic congestion, or traffic probably not managed well enough, then there's nothing much we can do to be honest. Anything above 150ms ping likely isn't good for this game.

Press F1 in game to see ping.

Nevermind I decided not to play there anymore
Its the cybercafe problem
cause im playing at Orange now and the game is smooth.
Wish se7en subang bestari would do something about it

okay anyway

Ive been playing my templar and so far so good
I went for molten strike + cyclone as what it is shown in Youtube.
Although that is meant for marauder but I think my templar should be able to pull that through

But how do I get all those equips?
Like ngahamu axe etc

I learned that we can trade and so I went to check those websites and omg 20~30 chaos orbs just to get that ngahamu axe 6 slots cry.gif

How to get a lot of chaos orbs?

There's Chaos "Recipe".
Vendor these for 2 chaos : ilvl 60+ -> helmet, armor, boot, glove, belt, 2x rings, amulet, 1x2hand-weapon / 2x1hand-weapons
Basically full set unidentified. If one of them is identified you only get 1 chaos.
If ALL are over ilvl75 you get Regal Orb instead of Chaos.

No, you don't buy a 6 slot weapon just like that, it kinda a waste if you can't afford to 6 link it anyway.

Just buy a cheapo 1 chaos Ngamahu's Flame, 4-link it and you're ready to go.
6-link is really either for those who feel really lucky, or wealthy enough to afford one.
5-link is good enough for most and not too hard to afford.

To get 5 link is pretty easy, just 25 chaos - buy a Jeweller's Touch prophecy, or if you lucky to get one yourself.
Of course, there's 6-link prophecy as well, if you feel REALLY lucky...

Obviously, your attack skill not necessarily must put on the weapon. If you happens to find a 5 or 6 links armor, that would be nice also.
Armor like Tabula Rasa is pretty cheap, below 10 chaos 6 link (all white sockets). But it lacks of any actual armor...
It's a very useful levelling armor, but be very mindful of your survivality.

There's also corrupted items (can't modify anymore except change socket colors but very costly to do so).
6-link corrupted aren't very expensive, you just gonna look for the right socket color with the trade filter.

How these 6-link corrupt items exist?
If you see a strongbox that says "contain mirrored items", use a Vaal Orb on it.
Might have a change to drop.
