You can try NFC with android phone, although can only use on URL link and contacts only.  smile.gif

aiseh. is it hardware limitation or compatibility issue? Lumia + Lumia NFC sharing should be ok?

Guise, wanna ask 720 users here... My front facing camera when use indoors, the colours are purple instead of black n keeps flickering. Wonder if its normal or faulty camera. However usage outdoors seem to be fine, but it has that flickering effect too.

thanks for feedback...

flickering is not normal, does affect the pix taken? My galaxy w had a camera issues till the battery was changed, it fixed it self. You should get it checked, alternately you could try to find another point in your home n charge your phone, see got difference or not. Don't use extension cord. Mine never charges properly when extension cord is used, power seems to drain fast n other funny behavior.

Yup, it affects the picture taken. Pictures that is supposed to be black is captured as purple. However when using it for skype video call, seems normal. I charged my phone using wall socket and also USB via PC, charging is normal. But camera has been like this since i bought it.

Recently (just last night), the battery drained from 88% to 33% with everything off (wifi, 3G, GPS, bluetooth) and no apps running. Something's fishy happening... didnt install any new apps recently. Anyone else experience this?

aiyoh like that ar. where can i bring to check?

as for battery, did a soft reset (volume down + power off), blocked all background apps and turn off all connectivity except for normal mobile (call/sms). so far battery consumption 2-3% per hour. will continue monitor for a day or two.

wow ok. is that battery saver turned on all the way?

hmm, now my battery consumption seem to stabilize back. Only thing is the front camera flicker problem. sad.gif as though the phone has problem detecting correct white balance and exposure.

EDIT:

sample picture from front camera (the purplish-hue)

Attached Image

here's the original colour:

tested the front camera again. still same flickering problem. sometimes it could stabilize, but most of the time flickering, the black becoming purple. tried resetting the camera app from settings->application. no difference sad.gif

EDIT:

At the midst of checking the front camera, i also just went ahead and test the rear camera. Seems that the image is blurry and have some "ghosting"/"shadow" at the edges. I wonder if it's normal.

resized picture before can upload... slight quality loss but you can see the edges:

Settings are all auto, flash off, 16:9, focus assist light off.

Tried panaroma, glam me, 6tag. all same. changed aspect ratio, tried some different combination of settings. same problem. Yeah guess have to return it to service centre to get it rectified. Anyone have experience with Nokia care centre? how is their service, etc?

Fhaarkas/others, can share sample pictures from your default camera app picture for comparison purpose?

Wow, nice shots you got there! The colours are way crispier than mine. Do you have one with normal shot/landscape faraway object? Since your focus is the middle, macro shot, the edges are indeed out of focus but doesnt look washed out like mine though.

EDIT: third pic - the ants one - mine has some ghosting effect like at the top right corner shot. I'm not sure if that's due to out of focus or other factor.

kakakaka. ya wei it happens.

jandroid, what do you think of my camera image? is it normal? Need to know for sure that the actual performance of Lumia 720 camera should be better. Otherwise the technician might just say, "oh memang ini macam punya, takde problem..." then crap lor

Thanks Fhaarkas! Your second pic is really like my cam problem!

Ahh, so it's DOF problem. Your pic snapping skills are great! Mine like tahi ayam... haha. If it's normal, then i can rest my mind. Will probably test kaw kaw with various shots over the week for further study and also compare with Lumia 520's lens.

Now about the front camera, don't mind to see if your image flickers, especially in indoor with artificial lightning conditions? For outdoors it performs flawlessly, only indoor it's poor. Plus the purple hue... sedihnya tengok

If you can't get a second opinion from somebody whose phone isn't faulty than I say go ahead. As for DOF problem, using 4:3 AR somewhat alleviates it (because FOV is not as wide).

The RM6.50 option would be to use ProShot. Not sure if it makes any difference but I seriously have never noticed this problem until now. Not as bad at least. E.g. in the sunset shot above it's hard to tell if there's any blurring, even at full resolution.

Like this shot - you can only notice the blurring at corners and barely at the edges (this is a bad case). The way it is in your pictures it's affecting more like 25% of each side, leaving only 50% usable shot at the middle; as if zoom-blurred in Photoshop.

If you photograph a lot, I recommend giving it a shot and judge for yourself. Not sure if there's a trial though.

@L520 - the problem is probably less prominent, seeing that it uses F2.4 lens. Same case with other models which mostly use F2.2-F2.4 lenses.

I tried ProShot, good thing there's trial version - cannot save picture but i can review the recent picture that i take. Still the same blurring. Seems like your shots also have the blurring, though it is significantly better than mine.

Here's a comparison shot between 720 and 520: no points guessing which one is 720 and which is 520... tongue.gif

Attached Image Attached Image

Now, i just hope the technicians will accept the reasoning and not tell me that lumia 720 is like that wan. hmm.gif

All Lumias suffer from this blurring actually, even L1020. sweat.gif Though like I said, it's probably worse on L720 because of the F1.9 lens it uses. But then I'm not an expert on this stuff so yeah.

But the CA in yours is pretty bad (look at the trunk at the top left, it shouldn't be that bad that far into the pic). Maybe you wanna install HD Photo Viewer app to zoom in to 100% when showing the problem to Nokia.
*
Yeah i can accept a certain amount of blurring, but this is a bit too much. Ok will do about the hd viewer.

Btw in case anyone's wondering, the first pic is from 720 and second pic is 520. I tried viewing the pics in various devices, eg mobile phone, tablet and pc. The most obvious (and worst) is viewing it in pc.

Wonder how those sample pic of 720 camera in the net are shot.....hardly any blurring visible. hmm.gif

Sent to repair. Customer service agree that images are blurry at the edges and front camera flickering. Let's see how the repair goes!

Everything works fine and well from the first day. And guess what I'm the first Lumia user in my entire class(out of roughly 60 peoples). All see liao also wahh lend ur phone see haha. If u get the yellow color the effect would be multiplied xD I got the black as yellow was OOS.
