hey here's the picture. It's wierd tho in those place where light isn't that much the purple hue like u say on top right corner dosen't exist. However in bright sunlight outdoor shots u can see there a little purple hue. Did not notice this until u mentioned and do the test. I'll test again soon.

Indoor :

Wah bro, yours top right got problem la! Left and bottom all good and perfect. Try test a few more shots, see if manually focusing top right would improve it. At least yours is only one corner. Mine is the whole circle! kns... !! rclxub.gif

I took this again just now. To make sure it wasn't because I was moving that cause the lose focus i used a stand and take this pic. Seems like it really have problem focusing on the right side of mine :/

Yup bro, indeed is the same problem as mine, but yours is the right side! Bring go Nokia service centre complain...!! So cacat lar... it's quite unnoticeable in the default photo viewer... but if use HD photo viewer app or in PC... wah lao, see also butthurt liao. If you bring it up to Nokia and the service centre (i went to Amcorp Mall), then they will realize this. Fortunate for you only one side. Mine is all sides... cry.gif Really suggest you get a replacement too. It seems that Lumia 920 also have the same problem. See: http://forums.wpcentral.com/nokia-lumia-92...aken-photo.html

For my set, they replaced the lens, same problem. Replace motherboard, also same. I wonder what is the actual cause. hmm.gif

Didn't notice until u told me :/ But my schedule kinda pack right now sad.gif No time to go T____T wierd tho the focus won't show in low light areas or indoor with just enough lightings. :/
Guess I'll send it and try. :/ do I need to bring my receipts along?
*
I guess not many people notice it. For indoor/low light, it is still there, just that difficult to see. You can try taking pictures with text (e.g. newspaper, calendar...) with the words at the sides, and then you can see it. Anyhow, need to bring this to their attention to exercise our rights! We cannot let them sell us lemon products! When I went, I brought everything including box in case they want to check IMEI. But since I registered online with Nokia, they have the record in the system. Best you bring everything too if possible, including receipts and the warranty booklet and most importantly backup your data. My first repair, they just restored factory settings and claimed to be "software problem". shakehead.gif

Somehow, I still can't notice the purple hue you guys mentioned...
*
purple hue is front camera --> auto exposure adjustment. Try indoor with daylight and warm white light and see. Outdoor, parts with sunlight. Try taking picture of A4 paper.

For back camera, snap pictures with shutter button and check edges. If blur/shadow, tap to focus that part and see if ok. Best if you can share some snapshots. icon_idea.gif

some funny things here..
i sent my L720 to replace the touchscreen/LCD, when i collect it back, they reinstalled the firmware/OS , and then compass no longer supported.

- Can't install HERE City Lens
- Can't detect Compass sensor

Today, visit Nokia Care center again, the customer service claim that she consulted 3 technicians, all saying compass function no longer available in new firmware.

don't know how true is it, anybody can clarify this?
*
which care center u went? i think the technicians like to bs. even my camera problem, they say is "normal". ptuih! i sent so many sample pictures, and it seems that it is "normal" woh! and say that this is cheap phone, cannot compare with DSLR cameras. wah lao. i send to the HQ (amcorp)

EDIT: lol bro saw your post in Nokia's FB. amcorp service centre really full of bs! while i find the customer service representatives ok, it is the technicians that ticks me off. the customer service only can tell you what the technicians told them, so the main source of the bs is the technicians.

Yes, amcorp mall...
I've brought my phone 3 times there.
first time I complaint about the touchscreen problem, but they replaced the battery . What the F!!!

second time, they manage to replace the touchscreen, then the compass sensor failed

3rd time is today.

Which service center do you recommend? Berjaya plaza?
*
Wow, i experience the same bs service as you. First time i went, they just did a factory restore!! Secondly, change lens. Thirdly, change motherboard. AND now they say problem is solved since changed everything already. But the original problem which is the image blurring is still there! WOW!!

I guess i should've sent it to Berjaya... really unhappy at Amcorp @ Ms Caren Tee for her incompetence. I hope Nokia Malaysia can take stern action against her!

Demand a new replacement from Nokia Malaysia bro. The service centre at amcorp really spoilt my phone gao gao liao.

EDIT: saw Nokia's reply to your problem. Look's like jia lat for u also liao... really sad bro

Sensor Emitter show "Compass not supported", and Nokia Care Suite get result 'failed' when testing Magnetometer.

Just sent a very unfriendly email to mobiletechnic, asked them to give the final confirmation before i pay the 4th visit.

Really understand your situation bro. I am very frustrated with the amcorp mall service center. I went a total of... heck, I lost count. They were efficient in calling me to inform that it is "ready for collection", but not "problem solved".

Now I am also worried that I encounter the same problem as you -- functions missing, etc. I suspect they might just exchange lens and motherboards between Lumia 720's available in the service center. They claim to "ship it from overseas as locally no stock", but as it is taking too long (about 1 month+) and with my repeated e-mails and calling, suddenly magically "got stock" a few hours after I officially complain to Nokia Malaysia AND Singapore. Now, I suspect the parts are not new, and possibly swapped between repair units.

I called 03 7957 2211 and asked for Margeret/Caren. ##

Yup, I am requesting a new phone as replacement because my phone is a new phone (less than one month old) when sent to repair. They only replace parts, and so far I waited a total of 2 months (1 month for lens, 1 month for motherboard). And it is not new phone because my screen protector was there, although they actually peeled it off and replaced it haphazardly, with air bubbles and dust underneath! Not only that, there's a scratch on the cover. Fortunately Ms Caren agreed to replace the cover too.

I did not check the IMEI, but if it is different, it could be new, or swapped with someone else's.

I am unhappy because now they say that my phone is "normal", when it is exactly, if not worse, then the condition before I sent it to repair. The camera images is still faulty. So when I asked her why in the first place they say got problem and agree to replace lens and motherboard? Then now apparently it is "normal"?? Really tired of their excuses. I kept demanding for a brand new replacement set or a refund! This is already OK as I did not seek compensation for lost network operator bills for the past two months!

No resale value la if get back in such condition. sad.gif

Now my problem is that I don't even have a smartphone to use and monthly contract still on-going. I guess we are the few unlucky ones to get a lemon Lumia 720. From where you bought your phone? Perhaps can avoid buying there...

And mine from directd SS15. Unfortunately they do not entertain exchange or replacement request too.

Nokia Store in Sunway Pyramid so far is superb. A friend bought phone there, touch screen not working after bringing home, went to replace immediately the next day, one-to-one exchange! Definitely recommend that store.

Btw any news of your compass from Nokia Malaysia?

(I think you better remove her email address from your post to prevent her mailbox got flooded by forumers)

editted.

Haih, standard reply. Mine also "checking" for the past 1 month. When i call up, she say it is "normal" and ask me when I want to go collect. I said no, not until the problem is rectified. You better call her up and ask exactly what they are "checking", what are the actions taken, and how long.
