Eh StratOS, tried using the My Mobile application included in the Utility Software? It could let you transfer out your data from phone memory to PC.

Just open Data Transfer on your phone then connect it to your computer. So far tested with USB cable and it works.

Im having problems getting the phone to connect using usb cable. I go to Settings > Connectivity > USB > Data transfer. But it seems that the phone keeps on showing me "Waiting". It never get connected. Any ideas what happened my 904t users?

Hi Raymond,

For your information, if you want to transfer data with the My Mobile program, then you need to open Data Transfer. This mode is only for the use with the My Mobile program included in the utility disc.

If you want your phone act as card reader for memory card, you can just activate music transfer. A mass storage device should be detected by your computer and you can just start to transfer any files from or to memory card.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

I've tried Data Transfer but the problem is it never seem to get connected. I've waited for like 5 minutes and yet the phone still shows "Waiting".  I do not think it will be that long rite?

Anyway has anyone tried 904t with 2G mini sd? I read one forum in Singapore and one user tried with 2G mini sd without any problems. If so, I think i rather use 2G then.

For the Data Transfer mode, you need to open up your "My Mobile Phones" section, then you should see Toshiba 904T in the list. Then click on it and your phone will be then connected with the phone. A file explorer window will be opened for you to exchange data.

Hope that helps.

vodafone,

does sharp 903sh has this 'secret mode' found in toshiba phones?
*
Hmm the secret mode do available in 903SH also. For 903SH, other than the Japanese fw, you can hide the contacts that marked secret under secret mode is on. By the way, the Japanese FW of 903SH could protect your SMS folder also.

You got 803T already?

Hmm, unless you're in Japan and has Vodafone SIM card, if not why not try to find 3D Java games that available in the market and in general, it might suitable for your 902T.

903T can support mp3 ka?
*
Nope. Same as 902T couldn't play any MP3 or set MP3 as ringtone. 803T and 904T support it with require to convert MP3 to Toshiba proprietary format that Beat Engine Box could recognize.

Vodafone Tailor and StratOS Tailor and other Tailor who can answer me: -

I juz got myself Toshiba 903T and I love the phone very much. However, I have some question: -

1) I read all the messages posted and found that 903T cannot play MP3 or set MP3 as ringing tone. But why inside the phone have this media player software?

2) I bought this as second hand set and the previous owner did installed some songs n i saw the format is .mmf, what does it means? If 903T cannot play MP3 song then if I converted those mp3 format to .mmf can play?

3) should I buy SD card or mini SD card for this phone?

4) Can the picture set as photo caller?

So far this my few questions, still explore the phone....

Thanks very much...

Brian

Here is the answer for your doubts:

1) The Media Player is not the same as Beat Engine Box available in 803T and 904T. Main purpose for Media Player will be playing video and listening to protected music files (Chaku-uta) which I guess would be in .DCF file format (DRM Content File which could encrypt data, signing with Digital Certificate and requires an authentication server to acknowldge the file.)

2) Yes the phone can play MMF files as well as set it as ringtone. Well you could convert your MP3 to MMF but there is a file size limitation for MMF ringtone which is 300Kb.

3) You should go for miniSD as if any of your owned device requires SD, then just insert your miniSD to SD Adapter and you could use it as a SD card also.

4) Yes no problem but there is a picture size limitation.

Enjoy playing around with the phone.

I am searching some Taiwanese web site that some one manage to convert it to listhen to MP3..

No problem. Well did him/her state how he/she did it? As I know if you're in Japan, yes you can listen to MP3 with the Chaku-Uta which songs could be bought from vending machine.

mp3 in 3gp format for this hp?ook...ill be thinkin bout it these next few weeks...thx 4 all da info stratos, its a big help
*
It will not work whenever your 3GP file Sound is AAC. The 803T and 904T firmware doesn't support MP3 and AAC files playback directly unless converted with Beat Engine (which basically adding a wrapper onto the existing MP3 and AAC file so that the firmware will recognize it and play the file with MP3 and MP4 codec).

803T in Hong Kong selling HKD1500 (with unlock), the lock set is abt HKD 1300.

If TX60 is abt HKD 2000 plus (with chinese software, MP3 play etc) .

There is another new model TX62 in Hong Kong now which selling only HKD1680.  Similar to TX60 but cheaper.

I still prefer 705SH after seeing so many phone here.

And I wonder, why the phone here so cheap????? 903SH (833) full set sellng (new) selling only HKD2800 (the cheapest i asked).
*
Well bear in mind that in Hong Kong, there is no import tax for eletrical products. Unlike Malaysia in legal way, you need to have approve permit (AP) for importing communication devices such as handphones and need to have SIRIM.

Sin Tat is another local Sungei Wang like plaza. The business strategy is identical also. tongue.gif

so in short, what ever you want to listen, you will need to go through beat engine? then can listen/ or as ringtone?

rclxub.gif
*
For song playback only need to convert from Beat Engine software and play with Beat Engine Box in the phone. This only applies to 803T and 904T. 902T and 903T doesn't have Beat Engine Box and also cannot play MP3 or MP4 directly.

QUOTE(uchan @ Aug 6 2006, 10:18 PM)
then how about TX60? same?

when is 705T going to release unlocked version?
*
TX60 installed with HK firmware which is without the MP3 and MP4 playback and ringtone limitation.

New Toshiba batch phones can't be unlock including 705T. HK version of 705T is TX62 which already released. A lower end phone than 803T/TX60

QUOTE(ole_solskjaer @ Aug 8 2006, 01:18 AM)
basically u need to have the beat engine software to convert it inot a format that the phone recognize to set as ringtone?rite voda or stratos?
*
Beat Engine is only for playback purpose and converted songs will only appear in Beat Engine Box. Can't use for ringtone.

Funny that most toshiba phones cannot use mp3, but instead use mmf. Which toshiba can actually use mp3/ AAC as ringtone?

All HK firmware Toshiba TX series phones. In Japan, most of their phone requires DRM MP3 or at least a higher protection and control DRM format: DCF

Yeah currently phone could assign ringtone and ringvideo (.3GP)

Reprovisioning is an update function for the phone. Well you might heard of Over-the-Air (OTA) reprovisioning. It could update firmware, push wap/mms settings into phone and a lot more.

Well basically the format they used in the firmware is not ITU-T specified standard format. There are some proprietry format added for the underlying reprovisioning function.
