If your just looking for some extra calories without concern for health junk food will work great for extra calories...main problem with eating crap is the saturated and hydro based fats. they are bad for every aspect of your body....why do people think that to get calories in your diet the ONLY thing to do is eat junk food...ever think of making your own weight-gainer shakers ? i'll tell u how kids....listen carefully... just throw in some whey protein, banana, peanut butter, milk, yogurt, ice cream(if you have to), and oats and just blend it all and down it like a man...easy way to get in 1000+ calories fast.....dont you know that ? if u think junk food is a good choice of bulking then u should go ahead...i will beÂ

First off , uncle, since I am a kid to you (just being respectful here),
On which occasion did I say to obtain all of your calories from "dirty foods"? .
Food groups come mainly in macro and micronutrients, in this case we will only talk macros ( carbs, protein, fats and fibre if we want to be more specific).
To gain or lose weight, we have to adjust our caloric intake based on our maintenance calories ( bmr etc etc).
From the calories, we derive the amount of carbs , protein and fats we require per day.
Every food ( inclusive of your "clean" and "dirty" foods have carbs, protein and fats as well.
If you need x amount of carbs, protein and fats for this particular meal, and x amount of pizza can fulfill that requirement, why is that a bad idea?
At the end of the day, the macros of the x amount of pizza will equal to whatever amount of brown rice, almond and chicken breast that you wanted to eat at that meal.
I'm saying as long as the food fulfills your macros requirement, you can have it. I get where you're coming from, about bad food vs good food. In this context however, we would go in the different types of fats there is, saturated, unsaturated, trans fat. As of now, only trans fat has been proven to be detrimental to one's health condition. So for foods that contains high amounts of trans fat, yeah, bad food in my book as well.
No one is asking anyone to eat your daily calories from only fried food or pizza. But there's no harm in having things in moderation for as long as they fulfil what you require.

Technically, I think what he was trying to say is protein could be easily obtained from daily menu/foods that you won't actually need to consume tonnes of other protein supplements.
But then again, I could be mistaken. Resorting to junk food to bulk up however, does sound wrong,
What I meant is explained above. I'm on my phone now, so I may not be explaining everything. Just enough to Answer dear uncle for now

do u lift weight ?? can u show us some of ur picture....wanna see how ur progression of bodybuilding...coz u sound like a pro in this field...
this is good for you..take your time pls read...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junk_foodNah bro, I dont lift weights, I have a shitty physique, I guess the only people qualified to give nutritional advice are mr olympias right? Since they're all so jacked and shredded on stage.
Am not saying I'm a pro, am just saying, one should not speak in absolution and be a zealot to certain myths and old saying with no basis to it. I am open to new nutritional protocols for as long as there's ample studies proving the validity. While I may not have the physique of a bodybuilder as of now, you are free to google the names of the following , Alan Aragon, layne norton, Eric helms, Alberto Nunez.
Apart from Alan Aragon, all are natural pros and all of them do not practice "dirty" vs "clean" foods.
Try to play nice everyone. It's a forum. Not a flame war field. If you have an opinion, feel free to express it in a proper manner. Everyone can be a douche behind a screen, but let's just keep that nonsense from this section of the forum.
P/s - By eating "dirty foods" only , it is hard that one can fulfil his/her macro requirements. So I'm not saying you're all wrong here uncle, just sayin you don't have to be anal about eating "clean".
