dude it aint that expensive. Its more in line with prices as we used to pay for nvidia highest end card.

Previous 8800 Ultra etc.. all was 3.2k.. heck remembered when i dished out rm9.6k for cycom for 3. Thats the first time for tri-sli tech.

the curious part is y nvidia launched the titan. looking at the numbers it aint that impressive. The shader count is 50 percent more than 680 with the clock speed 20 percent less and performance around 30 percent gain and pricing nearly 80 percent more.

so for most ppl with single card to jump to this.. Just sli/crossfire and u will beat it at the price point.

so it looks like its for who will be sliing/tri-sli the best crap out there.

well i most probably will be getting one. the question is which brand and when. I am more interested on the CUDA power on those number of shaders.

if only x264 CLI now supports CUDA natively.

ppl just don't realize physx is just marketing gimmick. biggrin.gif
*
it aint.

Its a tech to increase realism. Same thing as ati ace card is the eyefinity setup.. its better than nvidia surround gaming.

Y adoption is more on nvidia on physx than ati. Simple Ati doesnt sponsor game developers as much as u think.
As much as ppl can be hating nvidia..., Its their currency thats not only moving tech/cards forward.. games also.
In short.. I had a friend in the gaming industry. His words.. " Nvidia just throws a lot of money for the game.. ati sponsors to work with the developers". "I as a developer who only sees income at the point of sales.. would opt for the former".

btw crysis 3 looks like another game that just wants to slaughter gc performances rather than focus on gameplay. To me crysis 2 was crap. The ai was just sheer dumb.

Last note fanboyism is so oudated. The problem now are ego centric ppl who like to always justify their current purchases that seems to favor one company and always quote " I am not a fanboy and have had the brand before"
Main argument is always related to performance vs dough.

My opinion. Just pay what u can and game with what u have. No further public justification needed.

the issue with ure comparisons are because ure uring leadtek as a base.
660ti overclock and ure close to a 670
overclock a 680 and ure at the 680 performance.
overclock a 680 and ure at a 7970 performance.
7970ghz deals a smack down on the 680.

so.. 670 is the middle ground. its 30-40 percent cheaper than a 680. 20 percent cheaper than a 7970. and its good at 1080p. 660ti is only around 10% cheaper than 670.

Hi, I know the logic.
Since 2 card are in the same price range.
So, i am asking whether 670 overclock can beat 660 PE~~ tongue.gif

eh......... doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

more like beat stock 680.... so

Nope. 1000W should be plenty. Not planning to overclock.
*
Hmm 600 watts max theoretical load on both cards. say a ALX has 1000 watts doubt its a plat or gold efficiency say silver on 80 plus so around the 80-85percent. 200 watts for everything else.

cutting it kindda close thats with the assumption that the psu on it is good and the cooling u get on that psu is good.

afaik gtx titans dont have much overclocking head room and u might as well trust nvidia boost 2.0 tech.

aka if ure titans are cool enough it will run higher.

btw does ure dell 2711 supports " dell display manager"??

Heaven seriously doesnt stress the gpu enough. As i stated on the AMD.. my 7970 vgpu voltage was hardly loaded compared to 3dmark 11 and especially 3dmark 2013.

can try 3dmark 2013??

So not exactly apple to orange comparison ain't it
BTW what setup are you rocking now?
*
just started back. skipping the ivy in favor of haswell. 3770k vs 2600k other than the high latency high speed men...hmm not impressed. thought we will enter higher latency during tgd ddr4 but its here already in ddr3. expecting ddr4 to be worse.

ordered some hynix n samsung 30nm dom plat from corsair. curious on the diff with high binned psc (my dom gt 2133 c7 1.5v)

just bought leadtek 680 4gb, sapphire 7970ghz, dell 29, corsair neutron gr
ordered a matrix plat n ordered done samsung 840s n m5e from newwgg.
titan skipping as its inefficient. bug mainly the overclocking margins seems limited

so time to get bz n start learning stuff to catch up.

hmmm

think u will see a 100% to 200% improvement if u upgrade to a 17 inch 1024x768 resolution

go upgrade ure monitor lerrrr.

Guys, will my motherboard ASUS P8Z77 V-PRO running 2-way SLi GTX 670 will be bottleneck by PCIE 3.0 8x 8x bandwidth?
*
No

go google Pcie 2.0 vs Pcie 3.0

Article shows that a 7970 which has a large gpu and fillrate bandwidth no diff on PCIE 2.0 16x = PCIE 3.0 8x
However on PCIE 2.0 8X there was a difference = PCIE 3.0 4x.

So ure good

Anybody can tell me what's the difference between a dell S series and ultrasharp series monitor?

the LCD thread seems dead...
*
S series uses different panels, 24 is MVA and the rest are AH-IPS.
Difference is
1. Gamut
2. Connectivity
3. Build Quality
4. Panel Movement aka horizontal, vertical etc.
5. S- is glossy and ultrasharps are Matte

and in Ultrasharps theres also two types the normal ones and the "Premium Color"
1. "Premium Color" 2413 (RM2k), 2713H (RM3k) has 110percent gamut and has a lot of connectivity and current tech Display port 1.2 daisy chaining.
2. "Premium Color" has pixel guarantee.
3. 6ms GTG as oppose to 8ms GTG

Only U2913WM has the same panel quality as U2713HM but with all the added features u will find on U2413 n U2713H

Any of these processors. Top one is the best and you go down the hierarchy from there. I'd suggest the third from the top onwards. Topmost if you got cash to spend.

Let say I take Coreā„¢ i7-3960X. How's about motherboard and memory?
*
depends . u wanna do click click overclocking..

then any x79 would do.
u want to learn about mem timings asus R4e def

the rest depends on how many gc's ... hdd's etc u need.. etc..

personally dont get why u want to use a gtx titan as a workstation gc??

and with haswell approaching near.. think u should pass and see what the new 1150 socket offerings are.
I definitely NEED AVX2.0. This is gonna speed up my encoding a lot faster.

This thread in Tom's Hardware forum: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/378190...pcie-video-card

*notice the guys has the same CPU as I am* tongue.gif

leads to this link on HardOCP: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/07/18/...14#.UV6gLpP-FGs

From what I read there, "benchmarkable differences" but not enough real-world performance difference in modern games.

I'm itching to get up to speed with current hardwares, but waiting to see if Haswell gives any benefit. Especially intrigued in super compact rigs. Falcon Northwest Tiki is calling. tongue.gif
*
Well those comparisons do fare well in comparison with a GTX titan sli.

But def moving to haswell is a better fit rather than currey ivy.

nah bro falcon northwest is crap.

My office rig is as follows and been doing good for a year
i7 2600k@4.5ghz with Thermairight Venomous Black limited with 2x Noiseblockers MP12, 4gb Dom GT 2133 7-9-7-24 1n @1.6v, Asus Maximus IV Extreme B3, EVGA Signature 690, Crucial 128gb Raid 0 ( Cant remember which but was a year plus ago sata 3, WD 4tb ( just put this in recently), Silverstone FT02+Noiseblockers MP12, Corsair AX1200.

I'd go with FT02. Perfect for Bunch of titans. My FT02 and TJ11 overclocked rigs are all silent and on air running 24/7. Heck the ceiling fan/aircond is louder.

Well as for CPU OC. Based on first gen sandybridge and 7970ghz and evga 690 I need 4.5ghz to take the cpu bottleneck out of the equation. With Haswell having AVX2.0 the gigaflops should be really sky rocketing and finally see more drastic mem controller read/write speeds with those insane high ddr3's nowadays. Its already been said that the current hynix chips which has higher ram speeds looks like will be a good fit for haswell. 4.5ghz i also choose this as all the sleep modes, c-states was working fine at this point. above this asus m4e has issues.

The Tiki is in addition to the Alienware ALX I have at the moment, bro. Wanna leave the ALX in living room, it'll scare away cats, and small shildren when friends and families come visit, with its looks tongue.gif. Something compact, unobtrusive and would not advertise itself as a "hey look at me, I'm a gaming rig!", that'll fit well in the living room setup, connected to a standard 1080p LCD TV with wireless keyboard/controllers while on the couch. That's where the Tiki comes in.

I've looked into several SFF builds online on YouTube, and particularly smitten by the Bitfenix Prodigy casing. Tiki is by all means smaller than the Prodigy, but I can get the Prodigy build done locally. hmm.gif
*
the issue with Tiki is the limited crappy 450watt powersupply its using.

btw dont be so influence with the payola reviews stating they" did many hours of air circulation and cooling testing"

then y not go ft03. u can put ure titans in it with Maximus V Gene.

http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?p=2683336

it still be faster and better than ure current rig.

http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=...6&postcount=239

http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=...7&postcount=253

http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=...7&postcount=263
with titan WC i think
Personally would leave the titan stock card cooler. They look awesome. The design of ft02,ft03,tj11 all heat goes up where it should so no worries.
