HTC is slower because of the heavy integration of sense into the android.
its not just some visual change but a lot of functionality change, that could affect the stability and security of the software. after integrate they need a longer period of time for testing before public release, that the reason we cant compare the update speed with official google or any other manufacturer. |

QUOTE(thesun @ Feb 20 2013, 04:56 PM) I still cannot brain, sensor size same like lumia 920, but the size of individual pixel is larger. i believe its similar to PPI theory. like high resolution in smaller screen = higher ppi = sharper image.so it means the picture may better in lowlight, but much more pixellated? Correct? for example, malaysia with 14 states, now same malaysia, only got 7 states, each state may become bigger, but when view from colored map, instead of showing 14 different color, it only show 7 colors. So, detail sudah lost.. this 4mp = small screen, more color/pixel pack into smaller space = sharper image but well theory is there, result we still need to see the actual photo taken from the phone. |

QUOTE(douglas_tong @ Feb 21 2013, 02:31 PM) The timing is weird. usually it doesn't take that long for it to arrive. yea, last time one x reach msia quite fast.Timing is of essence. They should start penetrating the market while the cake is still hot. Since samsung have way more marketing budget than them, its hard for htc to keep the hype up till April/may. but then again. Htc market share in Malaysia is meh..... |

QUOTE(giovanni @ Feb 21 2013, 04:35 PM) Another question here: So the camera is made up of a single 4.3mp sensor or 3 x 4.3mp sensor? Previous reports said the latter but none said a thing about triple sensors after the official launch. I am confused! maybe our telco not interested with HTC.By the way, Vietnam also has bigger market compared to Malaysia? The country is included in the list of first batch countries. |

QUOTE(douglas_tong @ Feb 21 2013, 04:52 PM) in overseas, their rate of signing up a phone with plans are cheap. (of course you don't compare with conversation rate, dollar to dollar) sometimes even free. that the reason.in Malaysia, you still need to pay RM 1k plus to get a phone. that naturally narrow the target market. Market is one thing. but need to factor in your target market. In Malaysia, only the mid to high income groups are capable of owning this phone. With that being said, middle income also don't change their phones every now and then. imagine a waiter there with salary of USD2k salary each month, can buy the phone outright using 1/4 of their salary, compared to us a degree holder with RM2k salary, you need 2-3 month to buy the phone, so they delay 1-2 month for us to save more $$ |

QUOTE(giovanni @ Feb 21 2013, 05:17 PM) there are a lot more reason like our telco not keen in bringing this device, you will see that beside iphone, our local telco will release the plan for other phone after weeks or even months we get the phone from local phone shop. |

QUOTE(aerobowl @ Feb 22 2013, 01:20 PM) the phone will have no or poor signal if full metal.they are combining the white thing(non metal meterial) into the metal which make zero gap between them, which mean its very smooth which might just look like a line design draw into the metal. |

QUOTE(WyjSwmW @ Feb 23 2013, 10:00 PM) For smartphone CPU, it's means total processing power is 1.9Ghz. This is not true, quad core 1.9ghz not mean total processing power is 1.9ghz, it can from core 0 to core 3 goes upto 1.9ghz. It depend on the processor configuration.1.9Ghz shared by 4 cores If each core running at 1.9Ghz, can really go fry hotdogs edy. Increasing of 200mhz on same processor will not increase much performance in real life usage, only in benchmark you will notice it. |

QUOTE(douglas_tong @ Mar 4 2013, 03:13 PM) actual usage only uses 4 cores, it wont use 8 cores together.it actually more than marketing gimmick to advertise 8 cores to normal consumer, in fact they just have a poor power efficiency high speed quad core, so that slap in old tech quad core for battery saver. |

QUOTE(soulseeker6187 @ Mar 4 2013, 08:05 PM) thanks for explaining those editing software and 3d gaming will need it.BTW there are very few apps that will take advantage of the processing power of the A15 core. with Exynos Octa( ARM big.LITTLE ) we can have best of both world. performance and battery life. for normal users, they might end up utilize the few year back processor technology for today, with a powerful processor sleeping inside. normal daily apps dont need 1.8ghz A15 processing power, maybe a 800mhz A15 will do, this is what current snapdragon configuration their processor for battery saving, lower clock / core for low processing demanding application, with lower power consumption. Samsung does not use this method but add another obselate 4 cores inside, maybe their processor need high power consumption even on lower speed. |
