QUOTE(FrostLance @ Mar 15 2013, 01:23 PM) Doesnt effect on monitor quality at all.. those are how many percents crop already Whats the resolution of your wallpaper ? Do u see those kind of things on ur screen? 1920x1080 (FULL HD) is only 2.1 megapixel u know I know about the video being 1080p already bro. It's my fault for using video as illustration. Maybe stick to still image. Displaying still image on big screen/high res screen like Ipad 3 or Nexus 10 you can tell the difference. This post has been edited by giovanni: Mar 15 2013, 01:31 PM

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Mar 15 2013, 01:30 PM) yeah if u crop above 200% and i was talking about still images.. Tell me do u use a 4k monitor? if not no major difference. The most important thing for images are detail and image quality. MP is a myth unless u use 4k monitors or printing banners. 4k monitor no la. So displaying on ipad 3/4 no difference too? You're the expert here. Do fill me in. If no difference then it allays my fear.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Mar 15 2013, 01:36 PM) 4MP was enough for 1080P display, even 2560 in my Nexus 10. Exactly, and I seldom zoom, nor-matter how great the phone camera are, zoom still suck, want zoom, only optical capable of. Great news then. I rest my case

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Mar 15 2013, 01:37 PM) I think you're clearly talking about pixel peeping, a term used when you're zooming into an image. If that's the case, surely a higher resolution image would be way better. But please bear in mind, as most are still confused with, megapixels and image quality/detail are two very different things. Don't get them mixed up Hahaha. Im no photography expert. Learn new things today from you all. Cheers!

QUOTE(jason111785 @ Mar 15 2013, 01:41 PM) that's my whole point... displaying the shootout in a hi-res monitor and see which one actually capture sharper pics and I'm not typical consumer that go for the XX MP... So there's difference?

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Mar 15 2013, 01:38 PM) well u have d800e if u want high res pictures.. why would u need a camera phone to shoot high res pics.. to me 8 mp is enough... they need to focus on Image quality, sharpness ,low light capabilities and low noise... Thats more important for a camera... arguing about MP is u dont go zooming in 300-400% on FB pics do you? What else would u use camera phones for? Professional photography? lol.. I use a 12mp Fujifilm X100 for wedding and street photogs lol I dont have a camera. So I use my cameraphone all the time. Or course the sharper the better.

QUOTE(skyline100 @ Mar 15 2013, 05:01 PM) I actually prefer LCD rather than AMOLED. The colour on AMOLED is so over saturated, too fake. The best is IPS LCD On top of that, there is screen burnt in issue. SienZ

My tab 7.7 had screen burnt in problem after 2 weeks! Yes, you didn't read it wrong only 2 weeks. You can see the faint taskbar on one corner (cos I used it a lot for browsing).

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Mar 15 2013, 05:45 PM) You should claim warranty at service centre bro. I suspect you got a lemon set. I don't think I got a lemon because I checked it carefully after purchase knowing this issue (because I was leaving for UK. Was back here for a short CNY break late Jan early Feb). That time official SME set still not available. So I bought AP set (6 months local shop warranty). Who knows, after two weeks in UK, I spot the issue after checking again one night. So I rooted it and install honeybar lo. Couldn't claim warranty. Felt a bit tulan back then.

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Mar 15 2013, 05:55 PM) No need to Google lar.. I'm talking bout 1st experience with Amoled screen. I've using SGS > SGS2 > SGS3 Note1 > Note2 Nexus S > Galaxy Nexus All the above phones are using Amoled display and i have NONE screen burn issue. No joking here Or your can try ask Uncle Benny as i believe he also uses the above phones and see what his answer. Check your status bar. I saw it on my Samsung galaxy S2.

Alright, enough with the bickering and insult. Let's change the topic. Anyone knows of any nice place that offers phone skinning (don't know if this is the correct term) service. Of course not too expensive.

QUOTE(joytest @ Mar 16 2013, 06:27 PM) LYP has some booths. Plenty of variety. How much does it cost for s3 (I assume it's going to be similar for s4 given the same size)

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Mar 16 2013, 06:30 PM) I think Lowyat got one (2nd or 3rd floor) near the escalator. They even put skin for tablets and lappy. They wont accidentally scratch your phone right? Abit scared. Call me a paranoid. Kekeke

QUOTE(joytest @ Mar 16 2013, 06:33 PM) My sense of aesthetics is to slap on the most bad-ass casing (in terms of protective properties) that I can afford on my device, so I have no idea about skinning I'm telling you the location just because I've seen it while doing window shopping. I'm thinking of a nice layer of skin then another badass case. Hehe.

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Mar 16 2013, 06:53 PM) Accidents do happen. Suggest you stick around when they are doing it. At least then, when they do scratch your phone, you will know. Otherwise they could quietly have it hidden under the skin. Then maybe just forget about the skin. Buy my own skin guard (if any).

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Mar 17 2013, 09:08 AM) Come on... Apple has 3GS, and 4S. Samsung also can... They called it S IV but in your heart, just treat it as S IIIS. But in Apple's case, the 's' version looks exactly identical to its predecessor. Hence the analogy is flawed. S4 has a bigger screen vis-a-vis s3. At most we can say the design is similar like that of IP4s to IP5 but not identical.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Mar 17 2013, 10:52 AM) Design was important. I am looking and hoping Samsung will fail this time and not meet targeted sales, This will be the only way Samsung will wakeup and reconsider design was important. Design is of course important too. Gotta say I'm a little disappointed myself. Was hoping the leak wasn't true before it was officially unveiled. However to say that it's exactly like s3 is a wrong assertion. There are changes no matter how minute it is.
