Quot homines,tot sententiae

The Romans had a phrase for it already. However, humanity never really "learns" and always repeats the same sh**. However, it takes time for individuals to realize that in every generation. At least uncle already saw the light for half of his life. tongue.gif

Perhaps it can't be said for a lot of other people.

Thanks. I saw the opportunity and seized it to experiment with my thesis. It has proven to be very enlightening.

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Mar 15 2013, 12:29 PM)
S4 offers a lot of new stuff that I can see.  IR Blaster, Smart Pause, built-in pedometer, etc.  It will be a worthy upgrade to the dual-core phone owners of two generations ago (and maybe new smartphone / iOS owners), maybe not so much for current S4 owners.
There's also the other side of the coin - herd mentality.  During your 'study', does the average Joe demonstrate a strong sense of independent decision-making (I will not buy S4), or does he go with the flow (I bought S3 becos everybody had one)?

I suspect a lot of people had individual opinions in the beginning but eventually succumbs to perceived societal and peer pressure in order to blend in.  Public acceptance is so important these days, especially to the younger crowd (Gen Y and younger).
Ah Latin.  The only Latin I know is 'carpe diem et memento mori'.  Luckily there's Google tongue.gif

That's true, but the fear of rejection by peers make some people accept whatever others are preaching.  Is there Latin phrase for that?  hmm.gif
*
My study is not as articulate as I would wish it to be. However, to delve into the realm of what you raised would digress the whole thread which will be frowned upon.

However, nay a conclusion can be reached when it comes to the human behavior. So, whilst in certain decisions, the herd mentality is prevalent, in others, it could be non-existent. So, who's to say what one thinks of under different situations?

My hope is that when they voice their opinion, they do so with some 'before-thoughts'.

you really are an idiot aren't you now? Go back and figure out what I meant. Hint: In no where in my statement was I going against anything made of plastics. Hint 2: I myself am using an S3, so why would I have a problem with plastics. You spastic child. YOU go somewhere else and learn how to read before you blabber out rubbish.
*
You were laughing at all the uptight people here a few posts ago. Now, who's uptight? So much so, you are calling names.

Did you not run his statement down and was quite abrasive at that, which he is defending? Why the sudden surge of aggression? This I cannot fathom and hence spent half my life trying to comprehend.

Because the people that were uptight that I was laughing at were people being uptight and highly critical of a phone that's not been seen/touched by themselves yet.

However, on the other hand this was a person who personally told me to 'go somewhere else' if i had a 'problem' with phones made out of plastic in which case, wasn't even what I said nor had a problem with. Hence, I told him to go back and reread what I have said and try to have the slightest clue of what I meant.

Some things, I cannot fathom too.

If you want my advice, when someone goes off tangent or if a post is so ridiculous, refrain from being brusque when you reply. Stay on the subject matter. 'Kill' them with relevant annotates and reasons.

You said it was crap, implying a host of associated (mis)functionality with that term.

Of course I've seen the devs thrash exynos due to Samsung's refusal to provide full API details. That doesn't make it crap.
*
Yeah, now I have to go back to my books to find out what 'a piece of crap' means. You never stop learning.

I will put it down more to usage. The 'mouth is faster than the brain' which incidentally is what I have been inculcating not to do here.

Accidents do happen. Suggest you stick around when they are doing it. At least then, when they do scratch your phone, you will know. Otherwise they could quietly have it hidden under the skin.

Design was important. I am looking and hoping Samsung will fail this time and not meet targeted sales,

This will be the only way Samsung will wakeup and reconsider design was important.
*
Can I ask you one simple question? Even if Samsung does fail in achieving their desired sales, how would you know that it is due to the design?

It could be due to a variable of reasons or a combination of some.

Are you for real? Just to name a few, please tell us does Apple have the Smart Stay, Scroll and Pause? I am not being bias either way as I own both Apple and Samsung products but when someone simply makes silly(and I am being humdrum here) statements, I cannot but put him in his place. If you have nothing constructive to say, it's better to keep your mouth shut.

QUOTE(Chocobos @ Mar 17 2013, 12:45 PM)
This topic can easily be mistaken for Samsung bashing instead of S4 discussion. I don't really care about the material they use to house S4. It's just the design that disappoints me. Like others been saying, was hoping for a new and better look. HTC One looks much better.

However, I'm looking beyond aesthetic and would rather have better supports and features. SD Card, removable battery and faster updates are still my most important criterias in choosing my next phone. I would have considered the One but it lacks things I want.

When Key Lime Pie is ready, I believe Samsung will not let their customers down. They will be among the firsts to get a taste of the new version of Android. Software vs design? Software it is for me. But too ugly phone I also don want la  laugh.gif
*
It is not. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but when one posts some ridiculous or un-substantiated statements, it just irks me.

By the way, how do you come out with the figures? Nvm, back to your figures. If it's 99% note 2 like and 90% S3-like, doesn't that imply that it's a new class on its own since it's a hybrid? For all we know, Note 2 is a phablet.  hmm.gif

You beat me to it. I was about to ask him to educate me. 99+90=189%. rclxub.gif

That's because S3 is similar to Note 2 too. You seriously add them up?? shocking.gif

We all know what he meant but shouldn't it be 45%(S3), 55%(Note2), using his ratio(approximately)?

I mean 90% similarity when compare with S III only.

99% similarity when compare with Note II only.

The percentage is not compare with S III + Note II.

Correct me? Here is not grammar thread. lol.

Continue support your Samsung and try ignore what Samsung did was recycle as got sFans that never care, soon Samsung = Apple.

Every year out same phone with minor update and the sFans still happy though holding new major update phone in-fact it was yesterday phone.

Even this you get wrong. We are 'talking' about Mathematics not English. You are already weak in the latter and still want to engage further. I shall just desist here and let you run along with your tail in-between your legs.

You are just so shallow and blinkered. I cannot knock you on your opinion of the design but when you make such a vacuous statement I cannot but put you in your place.

Do you know where huge conglomerates spend most on? It's R&D and advertisement, not material. Samsung is no exception. They have spent hundreds of millions on those. How on earth can you say they invest little? GAWD! Like so many of your posts, you just injudiciously make such nonsensical remarks.

Actually s3 is ok for me.....as I'm using s3 now smile.gif
just that my dad hp is old and broken so he say he'll take my s3 if I change my hp (prefer to used old hp than buying a brand new one due to hp is just for calling, sms, whatsapp & checking mails....)
so I was planning to buy note 2 then the size is too big for me.....so I'll just wait s4  smile.gif
*
I more or less share your sentiment. I have an S3 and a Note2 plus my iPhones, which I rarely use now. The Note2 is a very good phone but I find it a tad too big and because of using it for a while now, the S3 appears too small. Will probably buy the S4 when it come out to replace my Note2.

Was contemplating on getting the XZ but all considered, S4 would be a better buy.

Even at the risk of the exchanges being wiped out, I'll still say it. These are the jerks who jump on the band-wagon with nothing but malice in mind and post un-constructive comments or annoyingly misleading unsubstantiated remarks.

I try to refrain from posting but sometimes it peeves me too much to let it be.
