The Romans had a phrase for it already. However, humanity never really "learns" and always repeats the same sh**. However, it takes time for individuals to realize that in every generation. At least uncle already saw the light for half of his life.

Perhaps it can't be said for a lot of other people.

S4 offers a lot of new stuff that I can see.  IR Blaster, Smart Pause, built-in pedometer, etc.  It will be a worthy upgrade to the dual-core phone owners of two generations ago (and maybe new smartphone / iOS owners), maybe not so much for current S4 owners.
There's also the other side of the coin - herd mentality.  During your 'study', does the average Joe demonstrate a strong sense of independent decision-making (I will not buy S4), or does he go with the flow (I bought S3 becos everybody had one)?

I suspect a lot of people had individual opinions in the beginning but eventually succumbs to perceived societal and peer pressure in order to blend in.  Public acceptance is so important these days, especially to the younger crowd (Gen Y and younger).

Because the people that were uptight that I was laughing at were people being uptight and highly critical of a phone that's not been seen/touched by themselves yet.

However, on the other hand this was a person who personally told me to 'go somewhere else' if i had a 'problem' with phones made out of plastic in which case, wasn't even what I said nor had a problem with. Hence, I told him to go back and reread what I have said and try to have the slightest clue of what I meant.

This topic can easily be mistaken for Samsung bashing instead of S4 discussion. I don't really care about the material they use to house S4. It's just the design that disappoints me. Like others been saying, was hoping for a new and better look. HTC One looks much better.

However, I'm looking beyond aesthetic and would rather have better supports and features. SD Card, removable battery and faster updates are still my most important criterias in choosing my next phone. I would have considered the One but it lacks things I want.

By the way, how do you come out with the figures? Nvm, back to your figures. If it's 99% note 2 like and 90% S3-like, doesn't that imply that it's a new class on its own since it's a hybrid? For all we know, Note 2 is a phablet.

Continue support your Samsung and try ignore what Samsung did was recycle as got sFans that never care, soon Samsung = Apple.

Every year out same phone with minor update and the sFans still happy though holding new major update phone in-fact it was yesterday phone.

Actually s3 is ok for me.....as I'm using s3 now
just that my dad hp is old and broken so he say he'll take my s3 if I change my hp (prefer to used old hp than buying a brand new one due to hp is just for calling, sms, whatsapp & checking mails....)
so I was planning to buy note 2 then the size is too big for me.....so I'll just wait s4
