For those with the 2.0, do attempt to use the cruise control when driving long distance.

If you do use it and keep it under 120kph, you can go down to 6.4l/100km and maybe even lower depending on your desired cruise speed.
*
I autocruised at 110km/h & can get 5.9L/100km..mine is Forte 2.0 4-speed mind u thumbup.gif

Got my 2.0sx almost 2 weeks ago, and realize that the rattling issue on my passenger dashboard is rather annoying....Brand new car, with rattling noise, are you kidding me? dont get me wrong..i luv my ride. but the noise, is such a turn off  sad.gif
i thought the 2013 batch should've rectified this issue already..
Can the SC fix this ? or anyone had overcome it?
Appreciate your kind sharing  notworthy.gif

Sorry to hear that bro. The car is really nice but surely that dashboard rattling sound is a turn off. I'm not sure why until now Naza failed to tackle this issue at the production line after so many complaints from the customers. This will tarnish the otherwise a good car. Since this issue is reported among the Forte CKD owner, i believe it got something to do with NazaKia assembly/production at Gurun..we Forte CBU owner dont have such an issue, at least not to my knowledge

I heard there was a recall for current Kia forte airbag on other country.
Due to airbag does not deploy after impact.

Does this apply to Malaysia.
Or any owner can prove the airbag is working?
*
I saw a totally lost Forte 1.6SX 6-speed at NazaKia SC Alor Setar due to a frontal accident..both the airbags are deployed. Passengers are safe with minor injuries while the driver got broken nose (info from NazaKia technician there)

The RPM will increase when you turn the steering wheel when the car is idle / not moving...normal smile.gif
*
Yupp..it's normal for hydraulic power steering coz it got its 'hydraulic power' direct from the engine (the hydraulic pump is connected directly to the engine by belt & pulley). But for Forte 2.0 which uses the motor driven power steering (MDPS, EPS or whatever the name is), there's no such thing (rpm increase when turning the steering wheel during idle) coz it's been driven by electric motor instead wink.gif

*
Agreed..somehow the gun metal spray looks better than the black shiny one (a bit cheap looking i must say)

I just got my car last wednesday~~ 1.6sx White from Penang~!!! Please add me... by the way, mine 1 is in black glossy steering finish and chrome door handle too. And the aircond now is with Clean Air feature or so call Ionizer like what Rio have it. Basically my 1.6sx now interior is almost like 2.0 except for the sunroof and the leather seat only.
*
Ehh..Forte 2.0 dont have sunroof also tongue.gif except for 1 batch of Forte 2.0 CBU (4-speed) that NazaKia brought from Singapore in 2010 due to 2.0 shortage (from Korea) that time..that batch of Forte 2.0 got sunroof but no MDPS whistling.gif

Besides the leather seat, 2.0 Forte also differs internally from Forte 1.6SX at the steering wheel (autocruise buttons) & Airbags words at all the pillars & front back-seats.

For Forte, there is no option available to turn off the passenger airbag. Usually, there is a sticker on the side of the dashboard to remind owners not to put any baby seat at the front passenger seat.
*
Ya..never place a rear-facing car seat in the front seat or in front of an air bag

*
Last time i used Sweet Cherry car seat..fit nicely at the back seat (side back seat, not the center back seat)

Yeah. Mine is a 2.0. The car definitely feels heavier when I first step into the car after 1st service.

I ignored because I use to get that for my BLM also after 1st service. Car feels heavier, but smoother engine sound, higher FC for the first week (compared to last few tanks before service). My BLM used 3.5L of oil. It was a 1.3L engine. So I assume a 2.0 L engine use more oil? I am not sure therefore I asked if any one knows. I saw xion city's post that he had 100ml extra on his engine oil and some what 500 ml extra on his AT oil, therefore he is feeling a lost in power in comparison to before service.

I just wanted to make sure.
*
Please recheck your engine oil level. If the engine oil exceed the 'full' level, definitely the car will feel heavier. It happen to me once after servicing at the SC. Luckily i recognised the symptom, so shortly after that i check the engine oil level by myself & confirmed that it exceed the 'full' level. Then i just send my car back to SC for a quick drain (lodge a complaint to the SC manager also to make sure that the SC technicians will do their job meticulously in the future). Anyway, my car behaves normally after that. I believe your case is the same. Please check bro...

Understood. Will check after 2 hours. Just drove to office at 8 just now. Wanted to regularise the oil level at the bay before checking for more accurate result.

Based on my own experience (along with the same experienced by my friends & acquaintances), this is a sound of metal 'contraction' coming from the exhaust system (i.e.: the catalytic-converter/cat-con)

I could be making a wrong assesment here unless I hear the sound myself. So, don't take my word 100% smile.gif
*
Correct. It's completely normal. Nothing to worry about.

that speed is still very safe and abit "chi kik" to avoid you feel sleepy mah.. not asking u to drive a Myvito and Bibah at 160km/h also rolleyes.gif
*
Though i drive the 2.0, i just drive defensively & sedately at about 110-120km/h on the highway. Getting old already. Yet to reach my car top speed until now tongue.gif The most is at about 180km/h only for thrice as far as i remember (& that for several seconds only..lolz). Anyway, please drive at a speed that u confident enough to maneuver the car safely if unexpected things happen along the road i.e. tyre blow, animal cross etc...

Friend, you are driving at 90km/h in middle lane of kesas highway. You should give way if there other  want to drive fast. Middle lane is not meant for 90km/h. If the fanboy want to show off, let it be why want to race ? There are many road users as well.
Anyway this is the problem of Malaysian driving attitute not so considerate. Hope you are not agry this statement.

Be Patient on road . TQ
*
As far as i remember..KESAS speed limit is 90km/h, so to drive on the middle lane at that permissible max speed is appropriate enough for me. Those who wanna drive faster than that, the right lane is the right place anytime whistling.gif So in this case, obviously it's sort of intentionally & provocative driving by 'cucuking' others at the middle lane (that already driving at max speed limit) because the right lane is available to overtake

Everyone's definition of underpower is different. Some may say Range Rover Evoque is underpower. CR-Z underpower. Camry 2.0 underpower.

To me anything sedan size of C-Segment with 1,600cc N/A to carry 4 passengers driving up to Genting is considerably underpower. You need to rev the engine beyond 4k rpm to get some pick up after speed bumps towards uphill because of its limited peak torque.

If you concern about the power of your car to drive up Genting with alot passengers very often, I suggest you look for turbocharged comfort based car like Ford S-Max, VW Golf TSI, Proton Preve CFE.
*
Yupp..have to agree on this, the Preve CFE is powerful enough for uphill climbing & brief overtaking. Been driving the Preve up to Cameron Highlands before with 4 adults + 3 small daughters + full luggage, i have to say that the Preve's 1.6L CFE engine is strong enough for the uphill job + good pick up too..thanks to the turbo & perhaps the CVT transmission nod.gif

Anyone here ever do engine wash? According to SC not advisable bcoz forte has alot of electronics..but my  engine bay is getting dirtier everyday  for the past 1 year..getting eyesore already
*
I done that (engine wash)..once in every 3 to 4 months time since 3 years+ owning the Forte. Just ask the car washer to cover the air intake hole, battery terminals & ECU with water proof material (i.e. plastic bag usually) & that should be fine to do engine wash. It works for me..no harm done
