I have no issue with the sound for Radio and GPS. The volume somehow is the same as each other after I have maxed out the GPS volume and radio volume at 8 or 9.

I however have problem with blue tooth phone call and radio. If you pick up or make calls with radio volume at 8, the phone call volume is very low. I can't hear clearly what the caller is saying buy the can hear me clearly. To hear them clearly, I would need to raise the volume to 16 or 18.

Once call ended, Radio resume and I would have a loud Radio volume. Is there anyway that I can raise blue tooth call voice like what we do for GPS? This bothers me abit as I am getting used to picking up calls via blue tooth in car.
*
Try increasing the volume directly from your Mobile Phone.
It works for my iPhone4. Not sure if it'll work for you.
Also, it depends on the signal strength of the network. Low signal will usually result in low/distorted voice reception volume.

Good luck!

I was thinking that i already missed the good offer from motorman and buydirect when buying forte from another dealer , i hope to get the good service at least since its the same 3S center
*
@Motorman @buydirect : the above may require your kind attention and action, perhaps.

^ Ya ah? When I was in Kinrara SC, I saw them pour the whole bottle into corong turas, leave the bottle on corong turas and walk away. When they are back, the bottle is empty. They even drain out the oil from the bottle as if there are not enough gravy on the steak.

This is not me alone. The other mak cik's koup is done with the same procedure. Just that ther service guy did not walk away. He sees through the 'pour all' process.

I have read in V11 that xion city at that time had excessive engine oil and AT oil. That is why the performance drop. I do feel that the car is heavier after this 1st service. Maybe it is because of the still new engine oil. However, looking at what xion city posted, I got worried a little, hence I asked.
*
I guess it's best if everyone should make him/herself aware on how the engine oil of a Forte (or any generic car) should be changed/replaced. Just click on the link and have a read:

http://www.forteforums.com/forums/do-yours...oil-change.html

Once you've gone through the article/thread, logic dictates that you should now be aware of how one may utilize the Engine Oil dipstick to check on the engine oil levels smile.gif

P/S - If you still need a guiding hand with the above, pls come for 1 of the TT/yum char sessions and I'll be the first to offer my help to you (do bring along some old newspapers as well) smile.gif

Thank you for the offer and I know how to utilise the dipstick. From what I read is that the oil to use in a 2.0 is 3.9L. I presume that the extra 100ml is no big deal? But the car does feel heavier. Doesn't really roll from bumper to bumper jam. Acceleration becomes slower, not as responsive before service.
*
QUOTE(lingleeyen @ Apr 4 2013, 02:17 PM)
I have just checked the oil level at 2pm. No car movement before this from 8 am this morning. I pull out the dip stick, wipe it off, dip in again and check the oil level. The dip stick shows that the oil level is approximately 2mm to 3mm below the full line. Then I guess that the oil poured in does not exceed the max level. But I am very very sure that they poured in the whole bottle till the last drop.

Tyre pressure is at 33psi. Therefore it is not the tyre factor.

So I guess it is the 'thick, new' oil effect. Will continue to observe the 'acceleration feel' and update.

During the 1st service I am also very sure that they have only touched the oil and the oil filter. I peeped through the window. They did not change or even touch anything else.
*
Speaking from my own personal experience:

Another factor could be the handbrake.
Try getting your car hoisted and make attempts to freewheel your rear tyres.

NOTE - But if you are absolutely sure that no one has adjusted/tampered with your handbrake caliper/cable settings since day-1, you may ignore my suggestion.

Now that you reminded me. I did ask them to check on my hand brake because I said I need to pull till level 6 before it is tight. They say if it is level 7 or lower it is standard (7 clicks when you pull hand brake without pressing the button). I do not see them opening anything through out the service process besides the bonnet (draining the oil, change oil filter, check other oil, lubricant, water level). They make a around rive (I guess toi check on the vibration of seat) drive back, the man disappear some where I cant see him, then they send my car to carwash.

After I have got my car, I ask what they did to my hand brake, they say it is within standard spec of 7 level, so no need to do anything, seat also just tighten bolt nut under standard spec.

Thanks for the reminder.

BTW, can you please further elaborate the below phrase, what do I need to do?

"Try getting your car hoisted and make attempts to freewheel your rear tyres".
*
Hi, is your handbrake now still at Level-7 to Full Lock?
If it is, then maybe this is not the cause.

Hoisting and freewheeling the rear-wheels = going to the mech; getting your car hoisted using the Frame Lift/Scissors Lift/Hydraulic Lift (I'm not sure what is the common term for that system in Malaysia); and using your hands to rotate the rear-wheels and observe if it gets stuck and stops before it loses its entire energy (a.k.a. not freewheeling).

how come my usb FAT format can store limited file only ?

anyone tries exFAT ? or UDF ?
*
FAT format would only allow a max of 2GB volume size limit. Anything more, you'll need to partition the drive.

exFAT have no file size limit. However, it has a slow writing speed. Also, not all platform/OS supports exFAT. (AFAIK, Windows CE has exFAT compatibility. So, if our HU software is WinCE, it should be readable.)

I've only used FAT so far, so good luck trying smile.gif

*
Based on my own experience (along with the same experienced by my friends & acquaintances), this is a sound of metal 'contraction' coming from the exhaust system (i.e.: the catalytic-converter/cat-con)

I could be making a wrong assesment here unless I hear the sound myself. So, don't take my word 100% smile.gif

I think your reported issue here differs from the one related to the 'contraction/cooling' of the exhaust system.
Perhaps it is something else entirely(?)

Care to elaborate?

Thank you for re-pointing. I do know that AT = Automatic Transmission, MT = Manual Transmission. I came from MT background, but once in a while I do drive AT cars for certain trips. I do not realise that they have this 'kneed to the front' tendency on uphil slopes too. Just wanna know if anybody else experienced the same with their car.
*
Perhaps it is the Parking Pin (a.k.a. Transmission Pawl) slipping into the gear cogs before locking hence the slight roll.
In any case, try to give more Tender Loving Care (TLC) to your 'P' transmission position by ensuring that the vehicle has come to a complete stop before slipping the gear into Park.
I have my own style of leaving the vehicle in "Park". Results? So far so good (touchwood), with no slips/roll.

The K emblem provided comes with 3M double sided tape. The double sided tape will grip better when it's exposed to heat, such as when you park your car under the hot sun. Is this happening at the rear or the front? Need to take it up with the supplier because such problem is very rare.
*
Bro Loh, if you wouldn't mind me suggesting, since your company is getting these items (emblems, vehicle number plates, etc.) on an almost daily basis (meaning in high volume) due to good sales, perhaps you may want to demand for a higher quality control from the suppliers(?)

Example scenario: When the supplier deliver the car number plates to you and you see that the numbers are not even/balanced/defected, kindly demand for a replacement for your customer. You would be the best person to do it because you have the purchasing power (as you buy in bulk from Supplier).

I trust that most of your customers would prefer to take delivery of a new car which is free from defects. Of course I'm not saying that all cars will not have minor defects (hairline scratches, etc.), but those which could be rectified easily should be remedied before delivery lor... smile.gif

DISCLAIMER - I'm aware that I'm not buying a $ 200K car or a Rolls here, it's only an $85K vehicle. Even then, I believe that's not a paltry amount for most people. As such, a good quality control on things like the above mentioned would be a real confidence booster for any potential customers reading this thread smile.gif

Just my 2-cents.

Guys, when the car lifted up and let the wheel rotate in the air with D gear without press on pedal, will both of front wheel run together or 1 fast and another slow?

I found that front right wheel is running but front left wheel are not, the SC told me that it was normal, but i am think both wheel shall tight together with the shaft and this shouldn't be happened.

Any experts can explain to me?

Do a read up on Open Differential and you'll find the answer there.
If the subject sparks your interest, you'll automatically read more and eventually end up reading about LSDs as well smile.gif

QUOTE(suai @ Apr 13 2013, 11:10 AM)
"A vehicle's wheels rotate at different speeds, mainly when turning corners. The differential is designed to drive a pair of wheels while allowing them to rotate at different speeds. In vehicles without a differential, such as karts, both driving wheels are forced to rotate at the same speed, usually on a common axle driven by a simple chain-drive mechanism. When cornering, the inner wheel needs to travel a shorter distance than the outer wheel, so with no differential, the result is the inner wheel spinning and/or the outer wheel dragging, and this results in difficult and unpredictable handling, damage to tires and roads, and strain on (or possible failure of) the entire drivetrain." from Wikipedia.

Based on my understanding, open differential is conventional method and LSD is advance method.

My question is, when both wheel is on the air, the reaction force impose to both tires is almost the same, i.e. nearly zero, but then how come there was only 1 tire spin while other stop at D drive?
*
There are a couple of factors, but my best guess (without the direct assessment if your said-vehicle) is that the brake caliper for the 'slower' rotating wheel is providing friction, albeit a very minimal one smile.gif

I've test drove the Preve CFE and found it to be ok. I guess the test drive car hasn't went thru the re-tuning so it does feel a little sluggish initially. Overall, I think Preve is a fine car, except that the car seems to come with lots of issue that can be fixed during car service. I just don't like the idea to spend too much time in the service centre to get all the issues fixed.  Thus, looking at either Kia Rio or Forte which I believe has less problems.

I've yet to test drive both cars, something that I would definitely do in order for me to decide which one to buy. Just thought that I get some opinions from car owners since you guys have been driving it for some time. Appreciate all the feedback so far. Thanks.

For those who've owned the Forte for more than a yr or more, any big issue with the car so far?
*
If its not too much to ask, would you be kind enough to list down in point form the problems which you've heard affecting the Preve?

I know this is off topic (that this is a Forte thread), but I'm just curious to find out. Thanks.

I done that (engine wash)..once in every 3 to 4 months time since 3 years+ owning the Forte. Just ask the car washer to cover the air intake hole, battery terminals & ECU with water proof material (i.e. plastic bag usually) & that should be fine to do engine wash. It works for me..no harm done
*
If I may also add.. Do ensure that this is carried out by a reputable car wash shop, not the nearest bawah pokok snow wash (that said, not all bawah pokok wash are un-professional) smile.gif
In simpler words, try looking for a place where the operator knows what he/she is doing in order to prevent any mishaps.

sub par quality issues does plague most if not all CKD cars.

A CKD BMW 523i also has rattle and squeaks and uneven gap panels on the dashboard and doortrim.
*
Which begs the question, what's wrong with the assembly plants in Malaysia? Why are the cars which are assembled elsewhere has no (or much lesser) problems/issues?
Is it the mentality of the workers? Lack of motivation due to incommensurable pay? Our local JV Car Manufacturing Partners having the 'tidak apa' attitude?
Or worse, is it because these local companies know tht we (the Malaysian consumer) are a forgiving bunch who 'talk only, no action' one?
