the white xpz could probably been a demo-unit, maybe that's why reviewers been reporting wash out colours and bad viewing angles?

my review: 
the most obvious changes u will notice is the camera night mode
night mode respond very fast, & the auto focus is also very fast even in total darkness
if u use xperia S u will knw wat i mean, in normal light condition camera perform like
normal xperia phone would, a little bit better if u turn on the HDR mode
if u r coming from phone tat use sony exmor r sensor, like s3, iphone 4s & 5, xperia s above
there r not much of improvement in normal light photo shooting,
but u can expect very very fast respond in camera night mode 

if u want 2 compare the audio with HTC beats i would say it is based on preference
some will like the beats more & some like sony clear audio more,
u still can get more beats by adjusting the clear bass setting
but if u r a audiophile thn i would say both r out, bcauz they r just software enhancement only
HTC beats give more bass but distort in sudden pitch change like high pitch, example: playing piano music
sony 1 is so so, give no distortion but bass is a bit mid instead of wide, tat y u will get clearer audio
however u won't notice much if u r using a crappy headset
if u r audiophile, it is better 2 get s3 or note 2 or the best iphone tat have a good dac audio chip
if i going 2 rate it, HTC: 3, sony: 4, s3: 7 [without using their crappy sound software enhancement], iphone: 8
if u r looking 4 a good dac audio, better buy a mp3 player tat got good audio chip
like zune, creative, walkman etc or with a good amplifier like  ibasso, headamp, fiio, hippo audio etc 

the screen brightness [lumen] is brighter thn previous xperia,
but however the brighter u set it the more washout colour & black will be,
just like any other LCD too, but u can expect a good sun light legibility even in 70% screen brigthness
however sony quick access the 1 with sun logo, will automatically set it to 100% brigthness
whn turn off it will be in 30% brightness, so i guess the optimal / best brightness would be in 30% 

YES, the Butterfly still has a slight edge over it
But TEXT appears fine and equally good in the Xperia Z
