lol... so now salahan siapa?

-- world bank?

-- misunderstanding by newspapers for not reading properly the report???

-- growing mismatch of concepts between what a retirement fund truly is and what a social pension support from the government means.
Thanks to certain groups constantly blurring the lines, even media outlets now equate EPF as if it’s a government pension scheme, when it’s not.

Or worst... Many think that they should be able to withdraw and access it anytime they want... No thanks to some short sighted politicians during COVID that set all the wrong expectations...not once not twice but four rounds... And on top of that we have these same folks asking for super high % return like their friends said so investing in equity ...Without understanding the EPF charter.

Even if the withdrawal age say raise to 60-65, it won't make any difference to these folks will still deplete it within 3-5 years.

That’s is so true.

And

Ain’t that a bitch… that the crux of matters. Say, Even if statistically proven that with the higher withdrawal age limit or min value, you will still find someone not happy with it.

That’s the reality and it’s a bitch to manage for any public agencies no matter how competent they are.

Fortunately or unfortunately, in MY… a very large components of the population think they are smarter and more capable than EPF in managing the portfolios and funds.

Some folks say CPF so great and without realizing there are cap on what you can get from your employer contribution. Essentially the millionaire have the same cpf balance at the end without self top up once it hit the cap which is actually quite low. I know many Malaysian who moved to SG, they all hit the CPF cap. Not going to dwell on FX or % etc as that never ends. Live and optimize teh cards you deal with.

No happy? Go and do business and make your own millions so you can biatch how capable you are etc.

Again its retirement fund meant exclusively for those 50/55 old.  biggrin.gif  And its meant to be lock which ever amount you have with exceptions of course.

Excess over 1 million only started as policy think around 2007 so its not an original policy which at that time seems quite atas level. So at this moment going forward atas level has been revised so keep up with it. blink.gif  1 million nowadays is not huge or atas level enough to warrant such a priviledge anymore.

For those saying epf changing goalpost, i will agree if they revert back to those agreed upon when epf was established. This mean getting rid of all those withdrawal policy including excess 1 million.  tongue.gif

Hate to be blunt, those that insisting on shifting goalpost is only nit picking on what narratives suited them.

You are absolutely right. Say we revert back to the same ol' from decades ago, would they retract goal post shifted...?

How about they now willing to revert to no dividends beyond 75 too..... heck that was a major change not too long ago in 2017. I didn't see anyone bitching shifting goalpost then..... Infact This changes is so impactful that it shifted the trajectory of many folks retirement planning ....
