It was a directive to increase local investment to 70%

so it means our local market sucks. that it cannot survive without gomen help and can't be competitive against other countries.

Basically, most of the big corporations are mainly own by EPF or PNB, if not then Khazanah or other state own funds
*
government owned are usually secured, less risk taking companies = lower return

EPF no negative or no return for any of the years...

2022 negative 11%, good times +10-20%, bad times -10%. overall average very good.

that's the differences between NZ fund & EPF

EPF don't have negative returns & guaranteed 2.5%

give & take +/- icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Yeah. But they also give the funds.

Growth aka aggressive
Balanced
Cash mainly

That'd separate appetite of different people.

a hypothetical question

if i put 100k in january.

then the year dividend is 6%, will i get more than 6% overall? since I contributed starting of the year? when others only evenly distributed the 100k throughout the year and get 6%.

100k- get 11 mths + 1 day @ 6%

So yes, if  say, you split your 100k to 10 deposits of 10k for 10 months, of course those will be pro rated accordingly.
1. 10k - 11mths + 1 day @ 6%
2. 10k - 10mths + 1 day @ 6%
3. 10k - 9mths + 1 day @ 6%
4. 10k - 8mths + 1 day @ 6%
5. 10k - 7mths + 1 day @ 6%
etc
etc
*
so 100k in jan VS 100k throughout 12 mths,

the first one will earn more, right?

yes... otherwise everyone will only topup on dec 28...

Lump sum sure earn more than u split on monthly basis til December...

Basic financial 👌
*
so 100k in january, dividend at 6%, they would get more than 6k dividend

100k throughout will get exactly 6k.

am i right

11 month dividend only

January only 1 day...

Whatever you do, cannot get full 12month
*
so max is

previous year amount, full 12 months.

current year amount, only 11 months+ 1 day max.

If use flexi house loan, can use it as emergency fund as well, though i don't recommend it. I find it hard to calculate the house loan interets, which is why i quickly settle all my property loans early, then i can sleep peacefully. Lol.

50 50 is good. I'm doing the same and they're climbing fast.

Just want to say if you've been to India. You're thankful Malaysia still can be saved.

I still have hope for malaysia
But any dividends in foreign currency is always a good thing. Earn overseas. Spend locally.

Thats how we manage our investment and diversify it accordingly

We keep speculating about yearly dividend but do we have independent body that monitors epf investment strategy to meet any KPI set like dividend return? Like operating expenses of EPF, etc..

If you think of EPF as public company, then ROI is very important
*
Go invest in Gloria Jean's coffee and what losing company

I heard the other company's owner is a helang.

How did they even CONVINCE the government aka EPF to invest in them.

Good call. To be honest, less than 5% of my network is in foreign currency, and that got me worried.
Hope to increase it to 30% in the next 5 years.

Hope you can achieve soon
