I tried submit application via ocbc online twice on Monday and Thursday but they still haven't call me....  any advice please.....
*
Just call the CS and tell them you wanna apply. Most likely they will assign a person in charge to handle your application e.g. emailing of required documents and application form.

I submitted my application on Thursday (online too) and they called me up on Tuesday.

what's your annual income?

QUOTE(jasontoh @ Jul 23 2013, 12:08 PM)
If you have 60K annual income, I don't really see why they will reject. The problem with Maybank is they upgrade your card level, not your limit, and I thought it supposed to go together.
*
Well, I upgraded mine from Gold to Platinum, and they increase my limit as well

sign0006.gif I'm also very lucky to hold 16 Principal Cards from 8 banks... all first time approval. Previously record: 17 Principal from 9 banks.

Honestly, why do you want so many cards? Don't you find it bothersome? I have 6 from 5 banks and I'm already kinda bothered by it (paying for the GST). If I can cancel 3 of it I even would but I can't due to ez payment commitment.

This question may sound stupid but I need to know. How do you guys actually know which places offers 1% or 5% cashback? You call the bank and ask? Ask the cashier? Or?

No choice but to call CS and ask for the MCC code
*
That means one can only know what's the % like after the card has been swipe. Unless I make a call before the usage itself.

So what I should do is to just call the CS, tell them the name of the place where the card is use and they'll give me the MCC code?

QUOTE(cempedaklife @ Aug 4 2013, 04:51 PM)
alternatively, keep track of all ur transactions per month, and put in what u think is 5% and 1% and compare with the rebate when u get the statement. if there's difference, try to move those transactions around until u get it consistent, then u'll know which is which
*
rclxub.gif pretty troublesome. Do you do that?

They don't have a giant list of all places in Malaysia.... can only know after swipe. Quite rare to have things that are actually within category but different MCC (I think only department shop eateries and Eu Yan Sang type of place). Keep track of this thread will find out one.

Otherwise, can just assume petrol + dining + bills (except some majlis perbandaran) will be 5%

Do you budget? If you budget but don't keep track of spending then what's the point? If you don't budget then hope you earn a lot =)
*
Yeah. I've been checking out this thread just to see what's in and what's out. I've just gotten this card like 3 weeks ago, so still trying to learn the "art" of using it efficiently. To be honest, I don't even know what's MCC code before this. rclxub.gif Will definitely keep track to identify which is which.

Of course I do keep track of my spending. But to do this "put in what u think is 5% and 1% and compare with the rebate when u get the statement. if there's difference, try to move those transactions around until u get it consistent, then u'll know which is which" ---> a little troublesome. But oh well, if I really would want to know, I have to do it somehow. Thanks btw

Congrats!

i applied at 26 July and get called at 30 July, everything seems fast. Then i called CS to check card application status at 1 Aug, the system replied that my cards application is approved! But until now no SMS to me about the card is sending to me  sad.gif

All in Holiday mood?  yawn.gif
*
I did not received any sms from them as well when my card was approved according to the CS even though I was told that it will be send. In the end I just go directly to the branch where I'm suppose to collect my card to get it.

OCBC does not have "real" e-Statement on their OCBC Online Portal.
You have to wait for the Postman to deliver the paper statement to your Billing Address
*
They don't? Then the downloadable statement in the portal is what? rclxub.gif

Can anyone share how to check the percentage of rebates for each item in the statement? I can't seem to find such information in my statement.
*
there's no way to check except for you yourself noting it down. and when the bills come you kinda "guess" or assume" based on the comparison of charges of the bills and also the rebate obtained. Till now I've yet to do that because I'm too lazy sweat.gif
