My goodness, it's so so so easy to root i9100g.
No pc needed also. Just download 2 files. Reboot to stock recovery and flash first file. Done, get root and busy box. Then install androzip app to unzip 2nd file to extract the kernel image Install ktools and flash the image. Done, get clock work mod already. Wah.....ridiculous! Even easier than nexus device. QUOTE(seiya @ Apr 23 2013, 09:02 AM) No, I'm not specifically want o clear dalvik cache. No I'm not trying to jump to a different rom. I solve this mystery already.I'm thinking of way to solve my problem. I only learn about dalvik cache from reading this long threat & thinking it may relate to my internal memory 2GB problem. It has less than 50MB free space available now Is wipe same as resetting to factory mode? If yes, I did that, but the problem came back again in less than a month My friend one also have same problem like yours, the system 2gb partition left too little space until cant install anything. So I root his device, see above post how to root. It's too easy. After root, install storage analyzer to scan what's inside the 2gb /data partition. Strangely inside /data/log got 1.2gb of stuff. Inside got over 2000+ crash report file. Each is 600kb. So I install root explorer, enter that folder, delete all the report file. Took very long to delete 2000+ files, But once done, 1.2gb reclaimed. |

QUOTE(teckyang97 @ Apr 27 2013, 11:12 PM) ??For i9100 usually need Odin to flash kernel. Nexus 7 last time root using nexus toolkit. Both also need pc. Htc phones need Adb connection from pc to send the root file. I think safe to say a lot root method need pc. Nexus 4 is exception? Or nowadays rooting become easier without pc? |

QUOTE(liquidvamp @ Apr 29 2013, 08:42 PM) far behind? i dont feel that S2 is getting far behind. =O my phone is still going on strong! XD Instead of switch phone, buy a tablet la.and nope, havent decide/plans to change phone. Ipad or nexus 10. Tablet will use for gaming, movie, fb, browsing. Phone in the end just use for messaging, calling, GPS, camera only. For these functions, current s2 performs identical to newer model. |

my Battery is working fine with 2-3 hours of screen on.
but i'm hoping for more. looking for 2000mah battery but no one selling. so i decided to check ebay. so amazed at the results i found. they are all very cheap. 2,5,7 usd (about rm6,15,21) with free shipping. one of them even boast 2450mah » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « but then my common sense is tingling, something is weird, and i googled review about them. thank goodness s2 was once a famous model, and someone did a great review on these batteries. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=r...ah-2430mah.html (worth looking) apparently, based on this reviewer battery test between the 3500mah, 2450mah,1800mah and stock 1650mah 3500 mAh (actual capacity of about 2300-2450 mAh) - 9:00 40 minutes; 2430 mAh (actual capacity of about 1000-1250 mAh) - 5:00 20 minutes; 1800 mAh (actual capacity of about 1300-1450 mAh) - 6 hours 22 minutes; 1650 mAh (standard, the actual capacity of about 1600-1650 mAh) - 7:00 43 minutes; So in short, the 2430 is FAKE, the 1800 one also fake. even if buy the 3500 with that extra bulk, dont really double the capacity, sigh.... |

QUOTE(liquidvamp @ May 4 2013, 04:43 AM) u have alot of storage for nandroids.. im not sure why my storage is almost full. maybe the caches from apps or images. if u installed MiFileExplorer, u can see a "Misc" section. that section eats up around almost 3gb from my storage. D: Install storage analyzer app to check which folder is holding useless big files.my battery life is considered ok la. getting 12-14 hours of batt life constantly.. enough from morning till i got back from work. hehehe Give it root access it can even check the 2 gb system partition. |
