MUH MAIN RIG
took me over a year to complete this UV project coz of lack of time.... theres gonna be loads of pix (of course alot la..took me so long to finish  ) so brace urselves. dont complain about quality..this is the best i can get using a 1 year old DV cam borrowed from a friend... some colors kinda changed bcoz of the camera. anyway, on with the gambar gambar lucah.. hehe *CLICK ON THE THUMBNAILS FOR A LARGER VIEW.... TRUST ME, YOU'LL WANT TO CLICK ON THE THUMBNAILS* full rig shot  mobo section/ bottom section  diff angle  top section/PSU section  HSF (XP-120 w/Delta FFB), rear exhaust, and rams   HSF and rams closeup  GC and NB Cooler (using highlighter)  rear exhaust fan (the blue color is actually just plain white a4 paper ) muh PSU  HDDs, inverter tray (modded by friend and wiring by me) and CMOS battery (the star is supposed to be orange, not pink...camera laaaa)  to be continued.... the top of muh PSU  the entire top view  yes yes, my top blowhole window has fangs   the uneven black paint is actually touch ups coz cutting with an industrial grinder aint easy my favourite closeups (the ones im most proud of)   and this is my favourite of all....gotta love the grim reaper...im so fascinated by this dude.  other angles    my best friend did all the cuttings and the inverter tray. and my gf helped me out with the fluoro stickers. especially cutting the demon and the grim reaper to such perfection. hope u enjoyed it.....a little different than usual eh? hehe...and of course... comments pls... THIS WOULD BE MUH HTPC (previous posts were of my main rig)
did this from spare parts lying around from my main rig. pic quality aint as excellent as most of u as it was taken using a 1 year old DV camera (it was either that or a k700i) so dont complain about the quality....anyway... on with more hardcore pix :twisted: full view ->  full front angle view ->  full rear angle view ->  another full view ->  time for closeups... HSF n back of GC Fan (had to put the fan there coz for some reason the PCB on that area of muh MSI FX5200 is friggin HOT!!! HSF Fan mounting bracket taken from my DFI Lan Party....its an Asus board by the way   HSF, GC Fan and UV Led Fan cap Uglyvamp (took out the LED)  closeup of the GC Fan  i happen to really like this one... its the NB Fan  yes, i know i know...i should change them crappy DFI cables...but like i said...spare parts! Specs of my HTPC:- AMD Sempron64 2500+ Asus K8N-E Deluxe Advanced Module 512mb DDR400 x1 Maxtor 20GB PATA HDD MSI FX5200 GC Samsung DVD Rom & Samsung CDRW Powerlogic 500w PSU (Pre-sleeved, sort of UV reactive. changed the stupid white molex to UV reactive ones) Cheapo RM38 Wireless Mini KB & Mouse Linksys Wireless USB Adapter Edifer R501 MK-II connected to on-board audio (yeah yeah i know...but trust me...this mobo has excellent on board audio) Panasonic 21" TV (Waiting for cash for a 29" or mebbe even a 34") Some brandless 4 or 5 year old beige ATX Casing okie...thats it for now....think i already posted up too much...hehhehe... comments are most welcome of course.. actually........... theres 6 sticks
2x12" as clearly seen in the pic (sunbeam) 2x6" 1 can see the other hidden (bought from uglyvamp) 2x4" above muh PSU, hidden (bought from uglyvamp) theres also 2x12" white sunbeam CCFL which are right next to the 12" subeam UV CCFL complete coverage  |

 try to take it in dark but only lamp that can see.....  so any technic to take shoot on dark.....???? |

all i see is the CCFL..
is the CCFL UV reactive ?? and the colors on the board looks like its DFI board... and i see wires going around... but not glowing .... does it glow ? sorry... maybe it glow's , but in camera it doesnt.... |

so then took it down to two of then and one short one on the wall there and it looks like this:

^ bro....me using the same PSU as u...what i did with it was to cut out the LEDs on the fans (void warranty but better UV effect) and also changed the white molex to UV reactive ones

(made from protactor case )[attachmentid=111258] Acoustic processor cooling with 2 vantec fan through the vent.. [attachmentid=111261] My HDD LED (orange colour) and my power LED (red colour) beside the red IDE cable (can't see, but u can see from the upper view pic) and not to forget.. the mobo speaker.. nice huh..? Nicely on top of its conector.. Pening... Letih... Result... Satisfied...Total 6 vantec fan i used for cooling this case and plus two inside my modded cap ayam 480watt PSU, using two LED fan.... Mobo is SFF.. 2 Optical drive.. DVD (windowed panel) n DVD-R beside it.. 2 HDD under the mobo.. 4 Coolermaster UVCCFL (2 sets) wit sound sensitive.. imagine it follow the beat of trance music... Lets clubbing in my room.. Underneath the mobo i put a what u all call aeroplane light.. Flashing under the mobo... The switch i put on top of the CCFL swicth behind the optical drive..(u can see at front view pic.. the 3 stacked thingy.. Far top right side for the case... Top most is the green colour is the switch.. the other 2 are the CCFL switchs.. Suprisingly FYI.. Silicon gum.. u know the silicon thing u use to gum something up.. stick something.. using the silicon gun thing.. the silicon is UV reflected.. Creating a purple reflect... U can see at the bottom aeroplane light switch.. and at the DVD window panel.. the small dot around the circle... OK.. thats it for now.. Since my VANTEC UV CCFL could not fit between the little gaps in my casing, i was thinking of opting for a CM UV CCFL,
but i am not sure of the brightness, from the looks of ur casing, it sure is good enough to lit my whole rig I installed a Fan controller to control my 4x 80mm vANTEC fans, if i put it to 50% its kinda silent for me |

while i dont really like it..... It blings too much, sort of like CCFL case rather than UV setup and the wire management could be improved a lil bit IMHO, you should just get normal UV fan without UV LED. The UV LED will become dimmer after long usage. |

in uv mod u dont need to hide all the wire coz wanna see the sleeving kit glow...

errr. uv got only one colour i guess.. hhuuh blue.. then depends on the material colour to glow..
the variable colour, that's not uv.. that only ccfl.. neon.. not uv... better use black flat sleeve for psu.. and use the fans, molex etc as uv... instead of psu sleeve.. huhuhu if u cant handle.. it will make ur pc got lots of glowing cacing.. |

The light from UV is purple and bit bluish...cuz its bit off ur eyes visual range......any uv reactive material will glow brightly under uv exposure..
different materials/colours glows different colours |

im using a 12 megapix camera so pic originaly is huge... if ure wondering where i got it form or y im using a 12 mega pix cam..its my dads and tis the only digital cam in the house other than camera phones
i will put them on spoilers lah.....neway bout the lighting..bummer man...forgot bout it..it was a quick picture session coz was like 1am and was super sleepy..will take nite shots tonight and post later.......bout the ide cable... im going down to singapore so ill head down to uvnium and buy his ide cable,.... i always wonder y dfi gives one of the shitiest ide cables on one of their top of the line mobos....wel except the venus which gives beter ide cables..not sure bt from pic ive seen the have the braided ones..am i right? some UV test shots of the rig in my new GT7 case... the CCFLs arent placed properly coz was just testing it out... so what do u guys think?? comments are of course welcome
full view  view of the top half HSF and rams...yep..torment and agony are still around  bottom half view...  and finally full view again but from front angle  thats it for now... havent really had the time to properly do up my UV so decided to just post up some test pix... will post up pix when im done with the UV (god knows when that will be) do give comments boys and girls..... |

i used 2 pcs of brandless uv cathode light b4, and 1 of it cracked, resulting a very dim light...this 2 tubes are using the same brandless inverter...
i replaced the cracked 1 with sunbeam, and it is running on its own inverter standalone...less than 1.5 months, it cracked today again...and resulting a very dim light again... both cracked lights i placed at the bottom of the casing, while another one on top... the chapalang uv tube which is on top got no problem for about 6 months dy... what is the actual problem? im going to claim warranty for the sunbeam since it got 1 year 1 to 1 exchange, but i have to sort out the problem first...any1 can help? |

today i checked my chapalang uv light again, which is placed at the top, it also cracked, but the light still bright... wth, 3 uv lights i bought also cracked...
my current 12v voltage is +11.67-11.73V and -12.11-12.19V ... is it dangerous? |

change ur inverter.
inverter is important. Also need to place inverter at a "cool" place, best where there's some air to it so as to keep it cool. If not guarantee won't last. All inverters, no matter wat brand is most prone to burning off due to heat. |

another update on my UV.... changed the clear blue LED fans to Vizo UV LED Fans
this was the initial plan... place the orange at the back and blue on HSF.  then decided to change it like this.. make the front and black blue and the centre of the case (HSF) to orange.   the UV CCFL still isnt stuck properly yet |

if its sturdy, it won't. you can try using those florecent felt pen and color the circuit board lines. which will make it more attractive. but do use suitable pens, so you will not short circuit the board or gc

extend can be done with own custom wire connector ..and sleeve according ur own preference....
if u want to hide the wire u can route it under mobo or drill hole for it to go behind mobo tray..... i personally dont like to cut anything out of my casing .... especially when it is an aluminum case.......... |

itll work....as the highlighter is UV reactive....
the only problem ull have is getting the ink to stick on the molex and painting them evenly so that itll look better and not so cacat-ed |

i suggest u read up on AlamakLor's rather comprehensive UVMOD Tutorial
lots of info and should be able to answer ur questions and probably give u ideas too. (thats where i got my info and ideas from )also dont forget to check out the UV league threads as well.. theres 2 of them... the first one has been locked and its somewhere in the backpages of this section. |

about UV thing i didn't know got this kind of thing so first time seeing it either so wanna ask is there any guide how to make my computer glow as what some people done on the computer and post on the UV League thread they bought some sunbeam and put it on and some put a4 paper on those fan anyone mind to lead me from the start ? i dont know how to put and fix those thing and dont knowwhat item i should buy? anyone please teach ^^ |

get the UV fan to replce the current LED fan .. .here u go ..
btw there is no problem just that the LED light will cover the UV effect, make it not that visible... |

hey.. i brought 2 sunbeam uv light from overclokers paradise.. now 1 month plus 1 stick spoilt de.. very dimm the light.. and the second stick now also almost gong liao.. no drop no shake.. all problem coming up.. dunno why.. u all think can claim ma? change a new 1 or need to wait for warranty?

Hi, now day so many popular thing about uv light, uv fan for modified the casing look so cool.
But can make everything look nice but still like can see the mobo look dark dark = = is like kinda not nice but today i saw some product name UV Paingt tranparent de so i figure out is there anyway to use the paint on a mobo? izzit this plan gonna to work? need some idea and advice for this csz dunwan spoil things |

usually people will stick fluoroscent paper/sticker on the capacitors to highlight the mobo... but if u wanna spray paint the entire mobo... then i suggest u look at this

Guys, does anyone here know where to get UV CCFLs with sound functions? Not the Sunbeam sort of thing where I need to get a separate sound module. Preferably the Cooler Master's previous line of old CCFLs which included the sound functions, except what I'm looking for is a UV CCFL with the sound function included Any help would be most appreciated, thanks

Sound function as in the CCFL has 2 modes :
a) Normal mode : Switch on/off with the switch b) Sound mode : It will become reactive to surrounding sounds, Under normal usages, it is meant to light up in your casing when your fans reach a certain volume loud enough for it to react. What I intend on using it for is something rather cool, an idea courtesy of deric88. By turning it to sound mode and turning on some heavy rock music, your CCFL will become a disco ball in your casing. Imagine the wild effects.... Please, if someone out there knows where can I can acquire this, or even better, wants to sell or start a bulk on it, CONTACT ME ASAP!! Thanks |

only the CM as far as i know comes with sound module. sunbeam have to buy seperately.
i guess the best u can do is buy whatever UV CCFL and buy any color CM ccfl and just use the sound module. |

Gee, thanks for all the updates, guys. Sadly, I've also hard the circulating news that CM quit on sound functions, dumb arses..... SO, can anyone give me a good lead in finding anymore remaining old stocks of the sound functioned ones?

hi guys
just bought vizo uv ccfls...but its kind off a dark purple instead of the whitish purple I see in the pics..mine is really very dim...im not sure if thats how its supposed to be or if there is something wrong with it... haha also, this is a dumb question i know, but will it get brighter if i leave it on for longer? thanks! |

i had the same situation with a chapalang brand UV CCFL last time as well..
it start with very dim purple glow then only slowly it get brighter ... but it get hot as well ... the same never happen on Sunbeam CCFL ... |

i bought mine from ebola last time. never tried it cause my pc wires are in a mess now. Classic stacker has given me alot of headache on wire management. anyhow, i don't think UV CCFL Performs the same as normal CCFL (different inverters). But if you're really into such setup, you can always try UV LEDs. but bear in mind, it'll worn off fast and you'll need alot of LEDs to light up the whole box like a chrismas tree. In addition, the LED setup might post a problem on providing uniform lumens as each LED might have different brightness due to manufacturer's fault or diverging lenses. but hey, its better then risking your whole pc on lighting up in flames. ( UF= ULTRA FLAMES ) get it?

there is no place like that now days as Robyncom shift out from LYP..
Basically u could still grab fewVU fan, LED fan, CCFL and Sleeve from Sri Com and ALL IT... other than that u will need to go around at LYN bulk orders... |

hey guys...just thought id share something....
i did a mini-RCA with double layer sleeving... check it out... under normal light...  closeup of the sleeving  and now....the UV shots  closeup of the double layer sleeving under UV  colours are - black over yellow - purple over orange - green over orange the green over orange effect aint that good as theres no contrast.... should have done green over blue...should get better contrast. overall...i really like how they turned out. the silver thing at the end of the sleeve?? those are audio plugs... 2xRCA and 1x 3.5mm stereo mini.
that cable is actually a DIY audio cable...not PC related one i just use UV reactive sleeving to give the cable more bling |

its in the middle ler.. both of them.. but it comes out smoke ba.. then i tought both the cable i misplace it so change it back and on my comp again and its working.. got poke a few times by thumbtacks coz of sleeving..

the placemet of the UV CCFL is kind of messy, hanging here and there... besides that u could have other cables sleeved in UV to enrich the look... |

not anymore man...not after i upgraded my rig.. now i put UV lights the only thing glowing will be the fans...everything else dark |

eh z3r0717, what figure is that hanging on the cables ??
btw guys any idea how to get UV green colour? as those when a Green UV reactive fans or arcylic would give off......... it's much softter then green LED in terms of colour gradient......... |

what i would do is buiy the Vizo and cut out the LEDs
there are also some selling in bulk order section...should go there to check it out. uglyvamp also has one that doesnt come with LEDs. pure blue |

the vizo coz its the easiest to get anyway..since u looking for blue then look for uglyvamp lor. he has one. im using one of it oso...for my front intake...not bad...i think the specs are similar to the vizo. |

robyncom have some stock of thermaltake UV fans, but whether what colour or size i do not know about it........better ask moderno
ulgyvamp's are very good too........ a lot of colour choice btw saw something very special there, a gigabyte mercury ..... complete box..... thx for the advice madman, well actually i should put it as i want UV green illuminaton......UV fans dun seems to be giving enough brightness....... My 1st attempt on sleeving [done badly
] and UV:
As you all can see, i havn't sleeve the main 24pin cable, facing major problem with that as the i followup the tutorial in this forum yet the stapler's bullet is too soft and easy to bent. Any better way to sleeve the 24pin cable? |

fluorescent stickers on the capacitors...fluorescent sticker on whatever else.
