all 3 nights no GRAW for me. always connection problems... always kena kick by the server if not always get the free cannot connect to server error so tonight just be hopkins in FNR3 smile.gif

yeah ...masterkoston's back...tongue.gif chat with him a while...he got the machine but no game at the moment..he try to d/l demo to play but stuck..any member can borrow him a game to play 1st maybe icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

protected AAC can be played on xbox 360 if you download the ipod add-on from marketplace. but i think it costs some points.

is it the nellymonster ipod update from live marketplace? i downloaded it, its free. it states that you can play unprotected AAC with it, not protected ones, eg: songs purchased from iTunes store. i think no other player than the iPod can play those currently.

Oh ok. My mistake. Sorry.

Have never tried AAC myself since my nano's all mp3. Also stream mp3s and photos from Windows XP notebook - a novelty but neat nonetheless.

Anyone read the latest Bungie.Net Update? Bungie says their next project is an RPG called "Pimps at Sea" for the Xbox 360. They even have a screenshot of achievements and an in-game screenshot (which looks like Gameboy Graphics). Smells like an April Fools joke to me rolleyes.gif

Montage is on the brink of completion. Unfortunately can't release it today so expect it tomorrow for sure wink.gif

5 mins ago i was like: "wtf?!?! why do i have barbie horse rally on my gamercard?".... it turned out to an april fool joke from mygamercard.net. they even spoofed an acvhievements page for it, check it out: Barbie Horse Rally.

when i downloading GRAW demo..
it keep on disconnect..
then i go check it.. seems llike the controller disconnect itself due to inactivity...

is this normal?

yeah, i get disconnected frequently too... streamyx not so stable, sometimes ok, sometimes not.

dont worry bout the controller, it will turn itself off to save power after a certain period of inactivity. this should not interfere the downloads. in this case, your downloads get disconnected coz of our sucky isp.

Controller switches itself off automatically but your download continues in the background .... even if the tv screen u see turns back to the selection page it's because of another feature on the xbox which dims your screen after some minutes (you can set this feature "off" in the settings panel).

connection time out, and i'm balming it on streamyx, couldn't sustain a tcp connection properly over a long period.

IMHO .. u guys should no blame streamyx wor, without streamyx, we cannot even play Xbox Live, Jaring wireless really sux, and there are no more broadband service as affordable as streamyx. I just envy Singapore, why cant we be like them, so many broadband ISP for us to choose from rclxms.gif

Well there would be other ISPs if only Streamyx wasn't owned by the Government. Government owned businesses don't have to worry about competitiors. TIME Broadband is pretty good, but suffers from instability due to lack of finance. They don't get as much customers as Streamyx, so evidently they can't be as good as Streamyx. Almost the whole market for Internet Service is owned by Streamyx so people won't think about opening an ISP because the competition is too strong already.

Most of us clearly think that Streamyx sucks, but we have no other choice. If I can afford one of those dedicated lines from TIME, I'd get one. I just hope Streamyx doesn't put a damn Bandwidth Cap on Streamyx accounts.....

If that happens I'm bombing the TM HQ

I believed it was due to Government owned that we are able to pull of broadband in this country. It was them who asked Telekom to provide broadband services to the publice, Who cares about broadband when u can make money in other profitable areas. Telecommunication grade switches are expensive...that's why u have to signed 1 year contract just like Astro.

At least we're lucky compared to Britain..read somewhere on how difficult it was for an this American couple to get a fixed line when he moved to Britain. There's still a lot of red tape in Britain.

Hi all... juz somthin 2 share wif... today i went Sg Wang to look for Xbox360... found a shop at 6th floor... I asked tat shop fella wat's the diff between asian set and jap set... he said tat jap set havin problems with the the power adaptor... shocking.gif furthermore, he said jap set cause disc scratches... shocking.gif and cannot play some asian games..... shocking.gif he sold 5 units jap set and 3 havin problems.... shocking.gif I wonder wat is act happening???

Anyone out there hav any idea wat's goin on??

Now i realli thinking where should i get Xbox360.. sweat.gif

The "power adapter problem" could probably due to the fact that the stepdown adapter that they provided isn't beefy enough and can't handle the load. As for the disk scratching, that'll only happen if you move the console while it's switched on. Don't move the console while it's on.

4.30pm should be alright, normally the shop closed around 7.30pm - 8pm.

Mmmm....never heard of that. Asian console literally cant play certain Japs games adalah. What happens are probably that they are certain newer games unplayable, just need an update from Live.

Might better gave them a call by 11 am. Reserved your console and games. I'm not sure about demand/supply for this week. Last time Manav only managed to get Kameo due to lack of games Who knows maybe Oblivion gets out today...oh btw both TNL/Mario closed at 7.00 pm. Infact that's the closing time for most shops in Imbi Plaza.

Ships like to say stuff like that because that makes them sound knowledgable and win over your confidence thinking that if you buy from them you they can support you since they know so much about the console. I guess the easiest way to test their actual knowledge of the 360 would be to ask them "which country should I register my Live account under?" and see what they say.

i know that...what i mean is i thought top xbox live games here should be games that ppl play on live, in multiplayer mode.

now i know it's actually every game on live, this Xbox Live list tracks every single second of every single game you play while connected to Live...

like Pj said......so not suprise if halo2 will be there till halo3 is out...

I think that they fixed the revenge racer bug where if you kept tapping boost you'll just keep gaining speed.

also... could be just me but I felt the game run smoother for me just now.... of course could be just my lack of sleep. tongue.gif

ok,it seems i have a problem with Live.

Before i log on onto Live yesterday at terranova's house. i have an offline gamer profile with 1.8k gamerscore(profile name alkt MY). then i create another gamertag on xbox.com before i log onto Live using alkt MY.

yesterday at the console i tried retrieving my gamertag but after it did, the gamertag retrieved from xbox.com server only has 0 gamerscore. how ah?

worse come to worse i'll just play all over again dry.gif

because the profile that have 1.8k gamerscore is offline profile. when you create another profile, that one will be zero gamerscore.

i don't know if offline profile can be turned to LIVE profile or not.

Yes, that is what he SHOULD have done i.e. start the xbox360, select that profile, then join LIVE from the console with that profile logged on. Now we know but too late damage done. oops.gif

I can only think of 2 solutions now:

(1) find a way to delete that 0 gamerscore profile from xbox.com (and lose 3-months subscription $) *ouch*

(2) call support and ask them to merge the 2 profiles if possible. If cannot merge, explain your situation to them, get them to cancel the subscription and re-issue new 25-code for you to re-register with the 1.8k gamerscore profile. I'm sure they will understand - so far they've been good to us, eh alkt?

p/s : this gives alkt another chance to talk to Celeste. Isn't this romantic? wub.gif

The last news about SF2 was that they were trying to sort out the lag issues. Personally I wish them luck lar since I know the headache involved with trying to put a fighting game online.. It has to be a slide show when ping is bad.. it just HAS to be..

Let me borrow your stats John tongue.gif Yeah the card is custom made for myself. The gamertag doesnt change, but the stats do as you can see. I can customise this for anyone if you want. Or I can make it so that the gamertag changes too, but it won't look as nice the text tongue.gif

Oh the reputation and gamerscore label positions are meant to be switched around. This is the older version of the card, haven't updated tongue.gif

The download frenzy has begun ...... luckily I have my E3 Download Support Team helping me out (ok ok - it's just my family lah).

Downloaded TDU demo this morning - took 1hr 35 mins to finish. Can't wait to try this tonight. My team has also downloaded Sonic the Hedgehog & Lord of the Rings too. Now downloading Brother In Arms Hell's Highway.

Think I need a new hard disk.

I have played the first Halo , but will wait and see for the second one in PC version as MS make it exclusive on Windows Vista . *rolls eyes*

Cortana probably gone rampant.

There are 7 Halo installations. 1 destroyed. The installation on Earth could be the Ark mentioned at the end of Halo 2.

Before I start to explain my thoughts about Cortana's words, let's go back to the end of Halo 2. The very end. After the credits, we see Cortana talking to Gravemind. Here's a part of what they say:

Gravemind: "I will ask and you will answer"
Cortana: "Alright, shoot"

Now why would Cortana, a human AI, want to co-operate with a flood lifeform (assuming Gravemind is a flood, he certainly seems like one). The answer is quite simple: Gravemind has control over her. How is that possible? Well think of this. When the Chief gets captured by Gravemind, who then teleports the Chief into High Charity (Covenant City). How is it that a flood lifeform would have control over Halo's teleportation system? Simple, Gravemind must be a more advanced form of flood, or maybe a cross between flood, and some other more intelligent lifeform that is able to do such things. So he probably is also able to take over Cortana. Let's assume he is for now.

Back to Halo 3. I believe the reason Cortana's going rampent is because she's being controlled by Gravemind. Here's what I think about her words:

"I have defied Gods and Demons" - Gravemind may be talking about how he has defied the Forerunners, the ones who created the 7 Halos and how he has defied Reclaimers. Remember in Halo 1, 343 Guilty Spark calls the Chief "Reclaimer" and in Halo 2, the Covenant call him "The Demon"

"I am your sheild, I am your sword" - Cortana is with the Chief in most battles. She helps him in battle. She also protects him. She acts as his "shield" and "sword"

"I know you, your past, your future" - If you've read the books you'd know that the Chief is part of a military project called the Spartan II Project. Here Cortana is talking about how she has knowledge about the Chief's past because she is able to access the military records, and possibly she knows his future too? What could it be? Death maybe?

"This is the way the world ends" - This is probably hinting how in the end the Halos will be activated and will eliminate all lifeforms and end the world. Or it also maybe talking about how the war between Human and Covenant will end

That's my views of Cortana's words of mystery tongue.gif Now about the giant structure:

- It's either "The Ark", an installation which can be used to activate all the Halos remotely
- Or it's another "Library" which contains the 'index' to activate the Ark, which is somewhere else on Earth maybe?

We'll see in 2007 tongue.gif

I forgot to mention that in the possibly real, possible fake "Halo 3 Script" that was floating around the net, Cortana betrays the Master Chief

One thing for sure, I suspect we'll finally be able to fight on Earth more, instead of just 2 levels.

Also to note. Cortana tends to have a certain rebellious streak that she shares with the creator (forgot her name). And if I remember correctly, she's also very protective of the Chief.

Yeah. I didn't really like the 2 Earth levels in Halo 2. Sure they were fun, but I wanted more tongue.gif

If I'm not mistaken, Cortana's creator is Dr. Halsey? And yes she is protective and acts as a "shield" wink.gif I just wonder if Cortana will betray the Chief like in the fake/real script

@yoroi - Currently co-op already has friendly fire and you can't turn it off whistling.gif

Glad to see someone read the books biggrin.gif Also note that in Halo: First Strike Dr. Halsey went off to the depths of space with Kelly to do something we don't know. I think she's gone to get a batch of Spartans which she hid somewhere. But who knows?

Already described in the books my friend smile.gif Something interesting here, I was watching the trailer again with volume turned up and headphones held tightly on my ears and I noticed that when Cortana says "Demons", you can hear a deep voice saying it with her. A voice much like Gravemind's.....

Same here , I just bought it this year and finished it last week .

What I like about Halo is the game developer never boast about uber high graphic , "realistic physics" to suck my system . After Painkiller , this one in my "impressed-me-list" .

I am not suprise , but with my 9600se , AMD athlon 1.5 Ghz and 512 memory , I finished FEAR without complain unlike people with high end PCs . laugh.gif

It's not about matter of updating one's hardware by buying lastest hardware that just come out , it's more about maximise software of one's pc performance .

Finished download most of the stuff up @ marketplace except like the sports game trailer.

About halo 3. This time cortana the AI won't be fighting alongside with master chief, well 'coz she is stuck with the ugly mofo (gravemind)
So...how do master chief get all the intel from? At least from the novel, the AI helps alot in calculating reflex, coordination bla bla bla especially on battleship & spartan.

Without AI, it's bloody damn hard to fight with the covenant when their technology is already wayyy too old school. Projectile weapon vs Plasma tech & shield too!

Yeah, just like how we play real Uno game cause the rules say that you must say uno as soon as your card hits the table so damn tension see the guy throw the card out and immediately catch him just because he was a second slow in saying Uno.

Other interesting custom rules that can set. "Draw till can play" <- I always used to play this method with my friends end up everyone got like 10+ cards hahahaha. Too bad cannot put pair's together. I thought that was a standard Uno rule

If I'm not mistaken they started filming last March but not quite sure. Release is definitely next year though so it might be with the game wink.gif

It's not my speed, mine also download speed average of 100KBps only. It's something to do with Streamyx not working well with xbox live &...tmnut r0x!

Played MotoGP demo...ok, it has goto be the influence of PGR 3. When i look at the surrounding...cupboard audience, low-res texture....the only good thing is the nice texture motorbike &...good gameplay (duno about bike)???
Won't blame them 'coz this is in fact a port from xbox version anyway....Live play is pretty fun though rclxms.gif

When you first register Xbox Live (silver)...you get 1 month XBL gold trial, after that it's back to Silver acc.

Now e3 period..all silver gamer can play online for free though.

Where you buy xb360? They should have some...connecting xb360 online is as important as connecting pc to the internet....

you need to be gold member to be able to have a match online. when you bought the xb360, you'll get one month trial of gold account. subscription card can get from Djin, it got 1 month, 3 month, 12 month. when it expired, you just buy new card.

It's mind boggling to hear Peter Moore say that, but actually it's true. Due to it's compartively cheaper price a lot of people would probably pick up a Wii. and also... when come on.. don't tell me after watching all the videos ads, or non ads you don't fear even a slight urge to try it out?

Don't think so..should be permanent. Even everybody got T1 line doesn't mean they can download all content under this short e3 period.

The TDU demo however....online server will go offline after the E3 period if i am not mistaken.

i was wondering, what happen when you send "friend request", the guy accept it and then remove you from friend list? will the guy name disappear from your "friend list" or will it become pending again?

and what if you send "friend request", but the guy delete/decline the msg, will the guy name disappear from your "friend list" or will it still show pending?

My favorite stuff

Gears of War - This was the best looking, most fun game I played at the show. I got to sit down and play a bunch of rounds and it was f***ing great.

Bioshock - This game is absolutely beautiful. I'm sure Tycho will go into detail later. What we saw during the demo really blew me away.

Dead Rising - I probably spent more time playing this on the show floor than any other game. I even went back to it throughout the show. Bashing a zombie in the skull with a bowling ball is a real treat. I will say that the lack of co-op play is a crime.

Stranglehold - I'm a huge John Woo fan and even I didn't expect this game to be any good. After seeing it in action though I'm ready to buy it. I will say that I saw a super move that involved doves flying in slow motion. That's all I need.

Haze - I can't really talk about this one but I was impressed. I had never even heard of it going into E3 and now I'm really looking forward to it.



Lots of potential

Crysis - I don't know how they made this game look so good. Honestly they must be using some kind of dark magic. I watched it running for five minutes before I realized my mouth was hanging open. Is there a good game there besides shooting guys in the jungle? I don't know yet.

Mass Effect - From the creators of KOTOR this is a massive space opera. Watching it I felt like this was probably what they had in mind for KOTOR 2 but then figured why waste it on someone else's IP. The beginning of the demo was a sort of verbal sparing match between you and another character that all happened in real time through branching dialogue trees with full voice acting. Amazing. Then it went into the combat which was pretty standard and not all that exciting. If they can fix that, they'll have a winner.

Viva Piñata - I know this is a kid's game but I can really see myself getting hooked on this. Watching the demo I couldn't help but imagine how I might construct my own garden and just how many elusive piñatas I'd be able to lure there. I don't like the idea of a kid's game with such a heavy micro payment component. The idea that Gabe will watch the cartoon show where they introduce some new hat or tree and then immediately want to purchase that item for the game is scary. Kids just have no defense against that kind of marketing and I feel like Microsoft intends to take full advantage of that fact. I'm also worried about how they'll manage to educate parents about the things they'll need to do on their end to ensure their kids Xbox live experience is safe. The controls are certainly there in the system but it will only take one instance of a seven year old hearing something he shouldn't to make headlines.



Not so good

Army of two - Saw a demo of this at the EA booth and we all came out shaking our heads wondering what they hell we just saw. At one point the AI partner started arguing with the guy giving the demo about who should take the sniper shot. The guy playing told the machine to "cut the crap" because the shot was his. Am I supposed to argue with my Xbox now? Later they showed how if you really get into it with your AI partner you can select the "f*** you" command from the radial menu in order to insult him. I don't know who that's for. I understand you're supposed to play it with a friend but it just looked so boring. They kept saying that they were going to revolutionize the action genre. The fact is Splinter Cell already did the co-op thing and they did it better. They ended the demo by showing how you can "pimp" your gun by adding diamonds and flashy silver components. I don't ever want to meet the person for whom pimping one's gun is an exciting game mechanic.

Huxley - Here was a game that promised a MMOFPS using the Unreal 3 engine. What I saw in their booth was an uninspired dime a dozen FPS that looked more like Unreal 2. It certainly didn't look anything like the stunning video they released a few months back. The PR machine for this game is in full effect but it's all smoke and mirrors. There's no game there, at least not yet.

Indiana Jones - This was the year of procedurally generated content. Every other developer was telling me how instead of having artists and animators create a game for me they figured out a way to make a computer do it. They seem to think this is better but Indiana Jones is a great example of why it's not. Instead of animating Indy they essentially taught him how to behave and react to his surroundings. They said this was better because it means you'll never see the same canned animation over and over. What it means is that I see different stupid looking animations all the time though. I'm not sure that's an improvement. I'll take God of Wars beautifully animated special moves over Indy looking like some kind of retarded marionette any day.



I have no idea what to think

Spore - I understand that lots of people are very excited about this game and I'm happy for them. I sat through the demo and couldn't imagine trying to play it. I'm not even sure you do play it because I don't think it's a game. I think it is a tool for creating a game and maybe there's some fun in that but not for me.

That list got long quick. I may come back later in the week with more.

That can't be the menu screen cause

1. See the concentric circles that form the background, logic will dictate that they be rotating, but if you look at both shots they're in the same position. Not to mention the active menu option pulsates in brightness so it's impossible for him to get 2 different shots with him in the same place.

2. The reason in Halo where you can press Y to show your friend's list is because there wasn't a guide button on the controller so they had to teach people where the friend's list is. This wouldn't be the case on the 360.

So.. chances of fake IMHO.. 99%

I'm not into this real vs fake thingy. But I'd just like to clarify that the Y for Friends button is also on the MotoGP demo - maybe it'll eventually be taken out of the final game, but as it is, it's there in the demo. Just wanted to point that out - nothing more.

If people could use their own pictures as their gamerpic, you know there's a darkside of that. If M$ were to approve every gamerpic first, it would be a lot of work for them so I think it's quite unlikely you'll be able to set your own gamerpic

Anyone having problems downloading from XboxLive? I
have tried downloading free game demos and movie trailers
- but everytime it reaches 50%, it just stops. Even when I click to download again, it just still shows 51% at most.
What is wrong?

PS - No problem downloading themes though.

Servers are all in US so it wouldn't change anything if you specified a dffierent region.

Previously my downloads would disconnect A LOT.. recently downloads have just been SLOOOOOOOW.. I wonder if oyu can call that an improvement?

the connection speed is depend on the item bad or good i guess tongue.gif because when i download the thing from E3 2006 and some new demo no DC or failed connection at all.since the connection looks smooth so i try download the NFSMW but it keep failed connection doh.gif if the thing u already try download or resume 5-10 times it will roll back to 0% and start all over again rclxub.gif so good luck la. smile.gif

Finally completed the download of the Spiderman 3 Trailer.
Total of about 56Mb. Disconnects every 5 minutes.
Reconnected at least 30 times. It is so frustrating.
Been trying to download TOP SPIN 2 Demo, even a
bigger nightmare. If this is the service standard, I think
XboxLive will be in deep shit when Sony and Nintendo
introduces their version of "marketplace". (Maybe it
will be as shitty as well)

But for "paid downloads", will the experience be better?

I saw a GRAW review a few days ago on GameMax and it looks like my type of game tongue.gif But then again you never know what could happen. I'm a complete noob I haven't even seen a 360 in real life laugh.gif

some people don't like GRAW because it is slower paced compare to like cod2 and well, halo2. but graw is all about technique and skill. and some psychology skill will always help tongue.gif

This one...definitely, the only game that require alot of xmen mutant psychology prower~ Especially when you max your surround speaker or headset.

Mobius, just try PDZ coop with Ah Biao. Confirm playable MY-UK, no problem~ Actually GRAW coop still playable oversea, just that cannot more than like 5 players blush.gif
