Hmm, you flash with stock or custom recovery?
You can always revert to stock by downloading factory image from Google and flash it via fastboot. Make sure you got your adb drivers installed.
*
hi,

flash it with custom recovery but also with stock recovery (via Wug root toolkit sideload). still wont install. same error apply_patch_check "/system/build.prop"

ADB drivers are ok, if you mean i can use cmd for adb & adb devices are present. FYI, i used adb sideload and also root toolkit to sideload and both failed.

i dont want to revert to stock..lots of things to backup smile.gif anyone else have the same issue? i guess the issue is with the build.prop thingy...

hi all..i got a problem with my nexus 4. bought it yesterday. the thing is, when i put my sim card inside, no sim detected. emergency call only. im using umobile. very frustrated on this..
*

use search, and look for my previous reply on this issue. try to file off the plastic part of the sim a bit so that the sim can nicely fit into the sim tray
QUOTE(Calex @ Feb 26 2013, 10:24 AM)
Gamepad hmm... Don't play much games on the phone though tongue.gif

Speaking of those skins, I'd love to join in if anyone's doing a bulk purchase or something.
*

the price is quite alright IMO, $9, and +$3 for shipping. so $12 for the whole thing to your doorstep

refer to the ota help-desk [INFO] Nexus OTA Help-Desk

you have some modification done to the build prop. you need to either change it back to the original one (if you have any)

or

flash the system.img of 4.2.1 build via fastboot before sideloading.

all your questions are most likely answered in the OTA help desk, so read and try them first.

So far, i have done few bulk (less than 10 cases) from SwitchEasy and SGP and didnt kena tax.
I think is depend on luck.

By the way, i have updated my main thread with 4 different scenarios to help ppl to decide whether they want to join or not.

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f=21&t=2715122

UPDATED the price with 4 scenarios and possible taxes.
As some members advice that there could be taxes (20% Sales Tax & 10% import Tax), I have done some calculation what is the final price with different scenarios.

Even i have ordered about 6 to 7 cases from SwitchEasy and SGP before and no tax by custom, now you need to make your own decision whether you want to join this bulk or not.
If we ordered 10 items and we are lucky, we only pay RM52.98 or worst case scenario kena taxes, will be RM60.71.

See the below calculation for 10 items & 5 items per order:

Scenario 1 is order 5 items and no tax. The final price is RM56.39
Scenario 2 is order 5 items with 20% sales tax & 10% Import tax. The Final Price is RM63.55
Scenario 3 is order 10 items and no tax. The final price is RM52.98
Scenario 4 is order 10 items with 20% sales tax & 10% import tax. The final price is RM60.71

If you want to see the formula of the calculation, you can download the Excel file from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?fziczcf6ijdfgg9

Guys, want to ask do we really need screen protector for our Nexus 4?
I read the video review in youtube, the result of test is scratch resistance from keys, coins, those common things in pocket.

alo all,

trying to update to 4.2.2. my nexus is unlocked, rooted but running stock ROM & on 4.2.1.

1. Tried using OTA, it downloaded but "verification fail" when want to install.

2. Tried flashing zip in recovery mode:
assert failed: apply_patch_check ("/system/build.prop" "5a778d005448ec19) E: Error in /data/media/0/<update file name>.zip
(Status 7)

3. so tried sideload using adb: also the same error msg as above only difference: E: error in /data/media/0/sideload.zip

Anyone can help? or point me to the right direction?

Thanks smile.gif

so are you running stock or not?
if you have a custom rom, the build.prop file will be different.

Seems like our device can read MyKad card.

Nope our nexus can only read the tag info/id not the content in it since our nexus only support latest nfc tag base on nfc latest standard .

The Nexus 4 does not support the Mifare Classic series. It still supports the Mifare Ultralight along with NFC forum tags type 1-4 and a few others.

The Nexus 4 can detect the UID code (like a UPC code) from a Mifare Classic tag and trigger a task based on that using ReTag app or NFC Task Launcher - however, it can not write or read any other info to the tag. If you're only using one of these nfc apps, then that's cool. But if you use several apps or want to actually write something to a tag, you'll want to use a tag like the NTAG203 NFC Tag which is compatible with the Nexus 4 and 10.
