Hi sifus,

Need your opinion on the above matter. I cant make up my mind to either get the POLO GTI or SCIROCCO TSI. Hopefully some owner can enlighten me with this matter. By the way I am looking to buy a 2nd hand unit. At the moment, still don't have kids yet.

there is a 1.4 GTI engine?

I thought Polo is only 1.2TSI or 2.0GTI

hahaha....Polo GTI is using a 1.4 engine la. if 2.0 the car will be a rocket already.

haha.. he must be confused between golf GTI and polo GTI liao..

Polo GTI is using the same 1.4 TSI engine, different is the engine is tuned for higher power, compare to other 1.4 TSI engine found on Golf and Scirocco.

last time when i realized this i was scratching my head thinking why they put the Golf TSI engine in Polo and named it GTI

yes. thats why it come with a badge of GTI coz is specially tune higher. i know this coz my brother is driving a 1.4 TSI golf. it always put a smile when u accelerate even is a 1.4 TSI

I would say go for the scirocco. The look wins, and that's in my opinion. Aside from that, the 1.4 TSI in the scirocco can tune up too. What other interesting stuff that makes you consider Polo GTI?

pricing is cheaper and is with 4 door. but size wise is quite small. just like a viva. and polo GTI comes with DRL embedded with the head light.

Scirocco has the looks, but still polo gti has better performance,, higher tuned in torque n bhp, 0-100 smoke de scirocco,,

anyway, if face value matter, scirocco is much more outstanding in terms of looks,, especially if u wanna impress ppl who dun know about cars, bcos ordinary ppl dunno wat is polo tsi n gti,, some ppl tot polo n golf is de same,, having scirocco, even datuk nenek know it looks sporty,,

saying its like viva too underestimate it,, its a b segment comparable to myvi,, putting a boot behind polo which is de polo sedan you can see its comparable to honda city n vios,, but putting a boot behind viva, it doesnt look bigger to compete with vios,,
vw has another line up call VW Up! that is comparable to city cars like viva, alto, i10,, but Up! is not available here yet

scirocco is ugly. especially the rear that looks deformed from all angles except when view dead ahead.

well... looks are subjective anyway, but i go for the polo gti for its performance.

automotive rule numero uno:
better look inconspicuous and smoke others than to look flashy but be smoked all day long

So, the main purpose of buying a car is smoking each other?
What about those Prancing Horse or Skylines driving in the middle lane? If you overtake them in a Myvi, can you claim that you actually
smoked them?
I'll take the better handling and aesthetic Scirocco 1.4TSI any day and drive leisurely without lane hogging or hopping.
There are always others which are much faster. Sepang and Speed City is there for a reason.

ya i take it leisurely sometimes. but occasionally when the power is needed. i think a 1.4 TSI can do its job by smoking most of the car except for supercar like GTR or ferrari.

You missed out on Proton and Perodua on turbos. And few other drivers with plastic titanium balls

hahahaha......anyway i get powerful car is not for racing.....thats not my purpose.....usually if they cucuk i will let them pass.....coz i only wanna enjoy my ride....
