Fact is
1. He base his facts on stock video player
2. At least he does his own testing, reading, research and is just informing his findings. He is not looking for answers.
3. There are a lot more irritating people in this forum

So everyone just chill out and move on.

When i connect my N2 to my laptop, i will have to choose either MTP or PTP. i can view the files, and also transfer files between my phone and laptop. but my notification bar in my laptop doesnt have any icon for me to 'eject' the 'usb drive' (eg, just like ejecting your pendrive or external hdd)

is this normal?

if so, i just unplug the cable at will once any files transferring is done?
*
Yes it is normal. Just make sure no more active transfers and you can just pull the cable.

Seems that NEAK kernel default setting for current is set at 1700mA. I downloaded uNEAKEngine and changed it to 1800mA.

At the moment I am on  NEAK Smart Response set to Normal and the battery consumption seems to be the same like the stock kernel. I have not try the Battery mode yet or any other setting options yet.

Any body that are running on NEAK kernel and has good battery life, may be you guys/gals can share your settings here.
*
arslow had been using neak the longest. maybe he can advise.

I have set in uNEAKEngine the Current Control for AC at 2000mA, an interesting finding. According to GCC the current_now is 1998 but current_avg and current_max are limited to 1800mA it seems. Maybe there is an internal circuit that limits the current charging to the phone at 1800mA

The battery have its own protection which cannot be bypassed as it is in the battery chip itself.

The chip is for battery protection, not to protect the phone

And if not mistaken it is to protect from higher than expected voltage. Not too much on current
*
Back in s2 days gokhan n entropy n one other guy did some test and concluded that the battery chip have a limit on the charging rate that the kernel cannot bypass. hence you can change the charging value to any value but the battery won't charge any faster. which is why gokhan subsequently removed charging rate modification from his kernel. I suppose it's the same for all Samsung battery.

Sifu sifu sekalian. My TWRP recovery is missing, can I reflash using mobile odin??
*
What happened to it? You need to download and flash the tar version. Yes you can try with mobile odin but i would advice to use PC odin.

Edit: If you have some other version of CWM (not samsung stock recovery) you can also just flash the TWRP zip file.

i think u r right...

coz the same cable and charger... in the same wall socket at my home. last night... i got 1300 instead of 700 which i reported yesterday.

which then raises the Q... so, is our electrical stuffs (cables, adapter, etc) so inconsistent that using the same stuff can give almost a 50% performance difference?

scary, no?
*
For both the situation did you start charging from the same battery percentage?
