i am reading thru the thread of AllianceROM & Du@lNote AOSP 5.0 at XDA. Currently still trying to decide which 1 to flash soon. Both are stock ROMs but themed like AOSP (not going for any CM base / AOSP base yet as i still want to maintain some of the Samsung / s pen features). So getting used to SlimBean during my SGS days, thus stock theme don do it for me anymore! lol

anyone tried any of these 2? the feedback from XDA sounds good!:

AllianceROM
Du@lNote AOSP 5.0
*
Go try Alliance it got a lot more feature and mods build in.

Du@lNote you still need simplistic and other mods.

Been reading few pages back but I could not agree with water thingy. This is a bit off topic.
If I remembered correctly, water that flows in a bigger diameter pipe will flow in a lower speed and high temperature because of the high pressure and vice versa.

Another simple example, place your hand in front of your mouth and breathe out with a wide mouth open. You get low speed and warm blow of air. You do it with a small mouth open and you will get the opposite reaction. This is bernoulli's principle.
*
Yes. Fluid flow and electricity flow is different. Thicker cable can transfer electricity faster but bigger pipe will reduce fluid velocity.

Your siggy now says u r on Redpill Kernel. What happen to Neak?  smile.gif
*
First device gets stuck at 1.6ghz. Then gave me some issue with my proximity and light sensor. So i flash back to redpill to reconfirm if my device have any hardware issue. Turns out it is fine so just lazy to flash back neak. Redpill for me is smoother. This version of redpill (1.30) is really smooth and stable and is a keeper.

Thx for the info. I am also on Monx. Will skip Neak then.

I suggest you try out Neak for your own experience. Please note that i always have bad luck with Neak since S2 times as well. blink.gif

Are u on 64G with ExFat ? NEAK dont support Exfat le if u r , didnt u read ?  whistling.gif

OPTIMIZATIONS:
- NO EXFAT SUPPORT (do not even ask for it please)
- Heavily reduced debug system (logcat and last_kmsg support is still there) (++speed, --size)
- Heavily Optimised TouchBooster logic ----> greatly improved smoothness
- SW Sync framework support
- Using Standalone Hotplug driver with non-hotplug governors (thx to gm)
- 3 CPU cores OFF when screen is locked (thx to arighi for original implementation) ----> with non-hotplug govs
- Upstream patches and fixes from Linux mainline kernel
- Compiled with Linaro GCC 4.7 (2012.12) + NEAK CFLAGS (heavily optimised) + Graphite Optimisations
- Optimised EXT4 filesystem
- Generally optimised code (removed useless functions and variables, fixed warnings)
and many others...

So did Neak screw his card. doh.gif

so far my experience with perseus and Neak kernels, both are equally smooth and fast compare with the stock kernel. as for battery consumption, both also almost the same with the stock kernel. the only advantages for these kernels are they have ability to oc and uv when compare to stock, not to mention audio tweaks too...

so I might go back to stock kernel... biggrin.gif
*
hmm.gif Hmm yeah i have not tried perseus. Gonna go flash it.

Will reducing input current while charging has any effect on the battery? Will it deteriorate faster?
For example you are leaving your phone charged the whole night while sleeping. Setting the input current lower like 300mAh-400mAh. Probably will take 6 to 8 hours to fully charged from 0%.
*
in my opinion if you do that you are putting more stress on the battery as it is exposed to heat for a longer duration which will affect the battery lifespan on the long run.

lolz. .. nolar. I dun go to the extent of making sure battery % is same before charging.
*
You miss my point. What i meant was for example S2 if you starting from a low % like 40% it will have a higher chargerate. If you charge at 90% it will be a lower chargerate. S2 have 2 different charging level for AC charger which is 400 and 800 if i remember correctly. Which could explain the big difference in your charging rate. Dunno if Note 2 battery is running the same charging logic or not.

I have better success with the phone laying flat.
But I dont know why they make this feature.
A push of the power button or home button is simple enough and saves battery.
With the quick glance on, you are only wasting battery life with the proximity sensor steady at all times.
Just my 2 cents.
*
note 2 is special when it comes to sensors. they don't drain much battery cos we have a separate processor to run them when device is sleeping. my proximity sensor is on all day except when I sleep and there is no additional drain.
