Using Pentium D 930 with Ninja Plus. Overclock at 1.3V and get load temp around 60C. Room temp is only 25 and mobo 33C. I think poor contact with the processor. Using Artic Silver 5. Any tips on installing Ninja on 775 sockket ?

During moderately hot afternoon, this is my full load result hereI think idle should be around 31-32C only. System spec: ~~~~~~~~~ Opteron 144 CACJE 0607 APAW @ 9 * 300 (AUTO voltage) Scythe Ninja FANLESS indirect blowing : from 80mm 1500rpm fan placed below my CD drive.(shud b around 20cfm only). casing airflow : 2x 1200rpm 120mm fan

Dude you really got to check the contact, its best to remove your entire mobo and put on the HSF as you can see clearly the contact point. Btw here's the site on Applying Artic Silver Instructions, hope it helps. But I've used the traditional way whereby i spread a thin surface of the AS over my CPU (P42.8E sc478). Getting some pretty good result, room temp around 27c mobo 39c CPU idle 43/44c load 49/50c @ 1.4v 3.5ghz I'm using Ninja + too btw good luck

Just got my my Ninja earlier today. Will install them later if I'm still awake I also have a few extra units. PM me if anybody is interested. **EDIT** Ninja ROCKS! Ninja with stock fan Thermaltake Big Typhoon with stock fan I reckon changing the fan to the 70+ CFM Delta that I have lying around and waiting for a few days to let the AS5 settle down can reduce the temp a few degrees more This post has been edited by arj: May 15 2006, 02:01 AM

Your load temp goes down and you complain? Who cares about idle temp? It's not like you're gonna stare at your PC and do nothing while it's on

Before changing... idle temp is 46c, if in air-cond is 42c load temp is 56c if in air-cond is 53c
With Ninja + AS5 idle temp is 40c if in air-cond is 35c load temp is 48c - 54c (depends on the room temp) if in air-cond is 46 - 48c (highest i noticed so far...)

LOL, that's not much improvement. Is your casing has good air ventilation?

i'd suspect your casing has bad ventilation.. and the heat just gets trapped inside during high load situations. Try putting a better fan at the outlet at the back and see if there is any improvement.

Iam sick with the high pitch of high speed fan, so stick with the original ninja fan. I tried to unclip the heatsink but it is damn hard to unclip from the retenion braket, so i twisted the heatsink. wow! 2c dropped noticely...

the reason why it is that good is because they have successfully overlapped 6 heatpipes in a small area which is just nice compared to the proc contact area. this is very crucial in removing the heat as fast as possible from the proc. do note that those really high end heatsinks will have small base surface area or thin block to ensure that the heat goes to the heatpipe ASAP instead of storing it in the base area. QUOTE(gsan @ May 23 2006, 07:27 PM) ninja plus is used together with the original mobo bracklet or the bracklet given? You have to use the bracket that comes with the HSF.
