With air cooling, I think you need at least 1.6v to hit 3.0GHz.

At what vcore? Ambient temperature?

If vcore @ 1.6v and ambient temp is 40c, it doesn't sound normal.
It seems like a bad temp reading.

I am using scythe ninja plus, the fan is very hard to mount. When oc to 2.4Ghz (opteron 165) at 1.4V, double core priming the temperature reach 62C nearing the 65C limit. Quite bad stock fan. Anyone know where to buy high performance quiet fan?

ALready check. The connection is fine. And then I am using AS5. Just that stock fan is ver slow (1000rpm max) so push very little air.
