As for deadlifts, how much weight should I lift? Same goes for bench press.

The first time I started doing deadlift is by lifting 95lbs (45lbs bar + 2x25lbs plates). I do them 5x5. After I've completed my 5x5 set, I'll up it by 10lbs for the next deadlift workout. Easy right? It's from stronglifts 5x5.

what was your weight back then? I'm extremely underweight now, ~45kg skinny fag lol. Not sure if I can lift that much

Hey guys is it normal to have backache for more than 3 days after workout? I started lifting few days ago and was having backache since.

stupid question here.
during overhead press, am I suppose to exhale on my way up and inhale on my way down or the opposite?

I tried doing 5x5 45lbs with the bar alone, but always lose strength after the 3rd rep of the 4th sets onwards.

can anyone shed some light on bent over barbell row techniques? I can't seem to feel the exercise and often I suspect it's due to bad form. Is it necessary to pinch shoulder blades at the top?

i used to not feel barbell row too. just lower the weight, throw that ego away. go lighter and squeeze ur back nicely. technique and form > weights
*
i'm doing the minimum bar + 2x 5kg ( approx 30kg) because it's quite hard to do barbell row with just the bar alone. I'm trying to pin down the form first before I increase the weight.
From what I understand, I have to squeeze my upper back as I pull?

After training for 4 weeks, I finally hit my first 1x5 70kg DL, about 1.46 times my body weight. Is it okay for a guy that has never lifted before?

anyone here prefers lifting without shoes on? as in barefoot, I need advice on how to convince a person that barefoot lifting is safe. I've been approached by the manager of the gym several times saying I should wear shoes while in the gym, because he said if the weight drops on my feet it will hurt less (the hell?) and it will be safer that way. I tried reasoning with him saying I prefer barefoot lifting as it gives me more stability when I lift but he always give the same reason as to why I should wear shoes while in the gym.

there is a lot of hazards around the gym. So it is advisable to wear them. That said, I take them off during squat, deadlift etc

yeah, I primarily take them off when I squat and DL
