Guys, is this possible? My friend started going to the gym 3 months ago.
Before: Bodyweight: 70kg Fat: 44kg Muscle mass: 12kg
After: Bodyweight: 69kg Fat: 14kg Muscle mass: 30kg
He used that InBody machine you see in the commercial gyms. So probably not that accurate but those numbers are way out there. And even before, while not skinny, he didn't look obese. I said the numbers don't look right at all but he said he's seeing consisent progress when he measures every two weeks.

QUOTE(helven @ Dec 12 2016, 03:49 PM) Before: 62% bfAfter: 20% bf I see something wrong here. I wonder how on earth can someone achieve 62% bf Here says whale only achieve 50% bf, is your friend human? You might wanna give a call to NASA, I suspect incoming alien invasion https://www.reddit.com/r/fatlogic/comments/...fat_percentage/ QUOTE(low yat 82 @ Dec 13 2016, 11:45 AM) those machine r highly affected by water weight in body. no matter wat, gib him thumbs up for bcomin healthy! QUOTE(Armesh @ Dec 13 2016, 03:09 PM) I'm amazed how the fuck the person who made that useless bf% machine even managed to sell it to people and businesses. Beyond me... Heh told him it was impossible to have 62% body fat. That's crazy obese. Anyway this has got me thinking - how do you guys measure your body fat? I admit I use the InBody machines for measurement but only because that's the only choice I have. Used it mostly for trending and tracking only.

Guys, need some help/advice here. I joined a gym around a year ago and fooled around for the first 6 months (mostly machine exercises, and light barbell exercises). Around 6 months ago I started doing the StrongLifts 5x5 more seriously. Around 1-2 months ago I started doing a bit of assistance work as well (pull ups, chin ups, machine row, bicep curls, triceps pushdowns). Here are my current stats:
Age: 28 Height: 175cm Weight: 69kg
High bar squat 5x5: 90kg Bench press 5x5: 62.5kg Overhead press 5x5: 45kg Pendlay rows 5x5: 75kg Deadlift 3x5: 110kg
I'm satisfied with my squat progress for now, it's been going up quite consistently. My beef is with the bench press and deadlift.
Bench press I don't seem to be able to go past 65kg. I think there are 2 contributing factors: shoulder/arm injuries and the fear of the weight falling on me (gym has no safety pins for BP). I sometimes get shoulder injuries (I think impingement) from bad form but I can fix that. However I have this other 'condition' -- not sure if it is an injury, that really weakens my BP. Basically I think my Brachialis muscle (the muscle facing outwards between the biceps and triceps) are sore. When I bench press heavy, my arms feel weak at the bottom. The sensation is kind of like when you bump your elbow at a certain angle against something hard... and your whole arm suddenly feels weak. That's kind of what I feel like at the bottom of the BP, and I think it could be the Brachialis. It has this slight numb pain I press on it. I'm not sure what is causing this, it may not be the BP itself. I suspect it could be bicep curls especially when I really exert myself in the last rep or two. Does anyone know what I should do about this?
Deadlift I'm at 110kg for the past few weeks, but not because I can't lift it. My grip strength is preventing me from lifting more. In fact even with 110kg I find it really hard to complete 3 sets of 5. Usually my grip weakens at the end of the second set, and it gets very hard in the third set. I know about the mixed grip but I don't feel like using it in fear of busting my biceps if I setup wrongly. Should I start using straps? Feels a bit early to me...
